I always thought Cap City was expensive for years being a Cameron Mitchell establishment. I came in a few months ago and actually compared what I spend at other restaurants and this one was cheaper with specialty burgers. Yes, I said cheaper! What a shock! The Juicy Lucy is only like $9 whereas other burger restaurants may charge more, is theirs grass fed to be more expensive? So then I started looking at other options on the menu and you could see those $20 and up but those dishes are actually pretty big for the price and now it makes sense why they are priced that much. I ordered a lamb kebab for instance which is in the $20 range that dish is meant to feed 1 person maybe for 2 days, if not shared with 2 people. That being said, not "all" nice restaurants are pricey as everyone states. You just have to really pay attention to the price tag when going out to eat. The service has always been excellent here as well each time. Even when we came during the final fifa game where someone ordered $2,000 doordash meal and entire restaurant waited for that order to be done. The staff were very nice and polite during every encounter. Looking for your next special celebration? Look no further than Cap City, for the service and price it just makes sense. read more

Disappointed in the service. First time here at this location and it was not the same elevated experience as the Olentangy/Grandview location. We had a cousin in from out of town and met up with him and his coworker. My partner picked Cap City due to the brand reputation and food. We made a 1:30pm Lunch reservation via OpenTable. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Inside was immaculate and inviting with an upscale vibe. The food was, of course, delicious. The overall service was slow and it was a smaller table for four (we should have been in a booth) so the pacing of the dishes were off to start. Rolls didn't come to the very end because we had apps and then main dishes. When I had asked about the rolls, as I thought they forgot, I was told they just had not been out yet since we did not have room on the table. Also, we weren't really attended to and didn't see the server hardly at all, with long times without being checked on. That's the easy summary on service. I am sure it was an off day for the server or just the time of day. It wasn't terrible just below expectations for the price point. Back to food, my partner and I started with the Blue Cheese Chips, I enjoyed the Meat Loaf Dinner, and he ordered the Eggs Benedict w/Crab. Rolls at the end. We found street parking on Riverside but there is a parking garage near the front entrance. This really should be a 3 star review with the service aspect but going with 4 as the entire party enjoyed every bite. I would recommend and the food and company made the lunch! read more

Great service and very attentive. Clean atmosphere. Was able to sit outside during Easter and everything was clean. Shared the blue cheese chips and ordered the crab cake Benedict. Honestly amazing crab cake, I was pleasantly surprised. The egg was poached perfectly. Only complaint was that it comes with a side salad...which is just lettuce with a lemony vinaigrette, but it was my fault for not asking for a side of potatoes. My partner got the breakfast burrito, and it was also great. I am not normally a chorizo person but it was used extremely well, and mot overly salty. The food was great, if not for my soggy sweet potato fries, it would be perfect! The fries were still good though, just not exactly crispy! I got the Juicy Lucy and it WAS juicy. The horseradish-ish sauce added a nice kick and it was super cheesy. My partner got the bacon cheeseburger and it was basically the best burger she's ever had. Our waitress, Smiley, was so attentive and kind. She even gave us a dessert for our celebration of coming there because of my partner's new graduate degree! We got the lemon crusted cheesecake and oh my gosh it was BEYOND with the tart cherries!! (Note that the photos of the cheesecake is the one slice cut in half) We were seated outside on the patio- and there was no need to be worried about a sunburn- it was nice and covered with still a great view of the street and beautiful flowers lining the exterior. Went to the Dublin cap city after many years! We went around 2:30pm for a late lunch, and the restaurant was very quiet and chill, which I loved, and the service was excellent. The food was divine and really hit the spot. The Philly cheesesteak was so tender and flavorful, and the lava cake killed me and sent me to heaven. I ordered the green Chili Cheeseburger and it was spectacular. The fruit was OK. Of course it looked pretty but unripe honeydew melon is not an asset to any fruit salad. It's easy to tell, too, It's hard and has no taste so note to the kitchen: use something else - anything else - besides hard unripe honeydew. But that was the only downside to the dinner. Our waiter was actually pretty amazing: he didn't even need to write anything down and he remembered everything perfectly. We all got our correct orders and correct checks. read more

We enjoy coming to this location. We brought our Cali friends and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had the fish and chips and they were huge! Our little guy with us was snuggled up with his ipad eating the best grilled cheese he has ever had. Drinks were good, and service is good as usual. We love sitting in the big booths. I went here to just get dessert and it's a really cool vibe. The ambiance is old style city diner. I was greeted and got my order taken quickly by the hostess. Really didn't have to wait too long to get my slice of carrot cake. Carrying it back to my hotel was hard. It weighed a lot. The cake is a very healthy piece. I had just eaten at another Cameron Mitchel restaurant and since they did not have e any desserts I wanted the waitress there recommended I go to Cap City. Now one of my all time favorite carrot cakes is ocean primes. The cap city is totally different. It's very dense and not moist. It overall had a good flavor. The icing is pretty thick and almost like fondant. Overall I'll try and eat Ed's again but probably will avoid the carrot cakes read more

You know, I've been to Cap City at least 4 times now, and each time I find myself wondering why locals seem to like it so much. Is it the Cameron Mitchell name? is it nostalgia? Is it the service? Okay the service here is actually really great, the waiters and waitresses are responsive, quick, and friendly. The diner vibe is cool, somewhat moody lighting, loud, but clean. My issue is the food. I can't seem to find anything there I like. The calamari is typically a safe starter for me, this time though, it was mushy. I've ordered the pork twice and it's just a little too sweet for me. The burgers were fine, my fries were cold and stale, they did make me a new batch but they were also stale. The beef kabobs are okay, not terrible, not great, just..fine. The least picky eater of the family wound up not finishing his dish and opting to not take it home either. Make of that what you will. read more

I've had a few visits to this diner after being introduced to it by one of my kids who loves it. Have had top notch service each time. It's clean, inviting, and nicely decorated. I've been there when they're almost empty and also when they're slammed with people. Interestingly, it's not very noisy even when they are packed. The ambience is very cool, retro, and at the Dublin location to my eye it looks a bit masculine - like a classic car with its mix of red leather, chrome & glass. The booth seats are very comfortable! But we go out to eat for the food, and here that is the apex of the experience! All but one of the items I've tried have been exceptional. The burgers are terrific - well seared and juicy with soft and delicious seeded buns, the seafood is superbly fresh & well prepared, the fried chicken is some of the best I've had anywhere - succulent, juicy and flavorful meat with a shatteringly crispy breading that melts instantly when you begin chewing. I don't know how they get that coating to work like that, but it is SO GOOD! The sides are also excellently prepared and fresh. So many places just overlook the value of great sides, but here they are sometimes one of the best parts of the meal. The desserts are to die for, and the coffee is rich and flavorful. The only thing I've had that wasn't to my taste was, of all things, the meatloaf! It's a diner, so I expected their A+ game with this, even though I almost never order meatloaf when dining out because most places can't match my expectation for it to taste like - or better than - homemade. As I've experienced in other restaurants, the meatloaf here comes off as very processed. It was a fine grind and compressed. It hit my palate more like thick sliced lunch meat than meatloaf. I had the meatloaf sandwich, so maybe that was my mistake and I would have enjoyed it more as a true entree, served with their excellent mashed potatoes and gravy. The rest of the sandwich was superb; Texas Toast was perfectly crispy and buttery, with fresh crispy lettuce, and ripe flavorful tomatoes. Overall, my dining experiences at Cap City Dublin have been superb, and I count the meatloaf as just another example of why I usually don't order this item when dining out. Some things won't overcome our own homemade expectations, and this is often the case with that particular dish for me - although I did believe if any place could do it this one would. There are so many other menu items done perfectly that this would never dissuade me from returning again & again, which is exactly what I will continue to do, as Cap City Diner is a shining example of excellence in food preparation and presentation, interior design, menu, and service. read more

Amazing food and attentive staff. Our mistake was sitting outside for dinner on a warm spring day. The evening was cooler than we expected. We asked our server to turn in the overhead heat lamps. Our son ordered the fish and chips. In his opinion, the fish eats bland. I peeled off the breading, ate the cod and thought it was wonderful. I also enjoyed his side of slaw. Creamy with a hint if tang. It was yummy. I ordered the Black and Blue Salmon Salad. Thd fish was blackened, the salad served with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing. It was delicious! I had to go to hostess table to tell them we had no server. Apparently, they sent some servers home and forget to assign our table to someone. I had the Beef tenderloin kabobs which was pretty good , there was two kabobs and I brought one home as I got full . I ate to much of the calamari which was really good . We ate in the patio which was heated and surprisingly comfortable on a 10 degree night. Service was excellent and so was the food! We started with wings that were huge and excellent, calamari and the nacho chips with a blue cheese (?) queso. The meatloaf was a hit. From the very start, the service was bad. Something as simple as asking for lemons with the water set her off. Then we ordered a pretzel as an appetizer, and it came out--no joke--30 minutes after we ordered it. Once we started ordering off the menu, every single question was met with attitude. If you asked for a substitute, it came with sass from the waitress. The final straw was when she had an attitude with my elderly grandmother, who simply asked if she could bring us a few more butters with the rolls. For some reason, any request caused the waitress to respond with a nasty look or comment. Please save yourself from this experience and go somewhere else. read more
