Wish I could give a 1.5 star rating. First off, I have never been here before so I relied on the previous reviews and website pictures. The place looks NOTHING like the website pics, nor the food pics. I ordered Pad Thai being a safe dish to try. The interior was pretty bad. There was a door placed on the only table and chair as you walk in. Behind the counter was unorganized and messy. The Pad Thai had no flavor, and there were no crumbled peanuts. The Spring Rolls were a joke. They were the size of my little finger (not kidding) and obviously a supermarket brand, not homemade. If this is the norm, I cannot believe the 4 & 5 star ratings. I will just go down the street to E Henrietta Rd and Jefferson Rd to the King and I for superior Thai food. read more

My son and I just tried this restaurant for the first time. It just opened a month ago and is attached to a take-out Chinese place. Sunny Thai is a semi-casual sit-down place, but also offers take-out and delivery. We were cheerfully greeted and seated immediately. While there was a steady stream of take-out customers we were the only guests in the good-sized dining room. The menu offers a good selection of Thai food. By no means the largest I have seen, but I had no problem finding several interesting dishes. Our orders arrived promptly. The food was very well presented. The food quality was excellent. We both enjoyed our dishes. I will return to Sunny Thai and would recommend that others give it a try. read more

Really great spot so far. We got the Gaeng Keo Wahn (chicken), pad thai (chicken), thai wings, and crab rangoon. Other than the wings being a little tough everything was fantastic. They were also very courteous and helpful for the no contact pickup process. read more

I really ought have checked the Yelp reviews before placing a delivery order in through Grubhub. Oh boy, I ordered the Calamari. It was stated these were "Thai Style," and unfortunately these were nothing more than previously frozen squid rings. They closely resembled Burger King's onion rings, but filled with squid. The accompanying sauce, I'm quite sure came out of a bottle. When I think of Thai-Style Calamari, I would at least expect the squid to be fresh, breaded and fried to order. These were a big let down. The biggest kick in the bollocks for me, was the Pad Thai w/ Beef. How can you serve a slice of lime that is clearly passed it's lifetime is beyond me. Discoloured, and on the brink of being moldy. The Pad Thai itself was bland, poorly seasoned, but greasy. Definitely the worst Pad Thai I've had to date. As for the Thai Iced Tea, I didn't have a problem with the tea itself, (although it's likely to have been just water, and an instant powder mixture) I had a problem with the volume. It wasn't filled to the top, and I questioned whether the Grubhub driver took a couple sips. I can't recommend this restaurant, nor will I return. From previously frozen squid rings, to a rotten lime, and to a skimpy drink. 1/10, and that's being generous since the food arrived 15 minutes before scheduled which has nothing to do with the restaurant. read more

My friends and I were on a road trip back to school and were looking for a place to satisfy our Thai craving off of I-90. Upon looking through Yelp, we came to Sunny Thai - despite a few fairly mediocre reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food we were served there. The ambiance in the restaurant's seating area might not be what you're looking for in a date night, as it seems like the restaurant also serves as the family's home. However, in terms of the food, we ordered the chicken pad Thai, shrimp pineapple coconut fried rice and eggplant and enjoyed our meals thoroughly. We'd definitely recommend Sunny Thai to anyone passing through Henrietta for its tasty courses! read more

I really wanted to love this place, but I was quite disappointed. The green curry was just coconut milk with chicken and bell peppers, and the basil fried rice was cooked in a oil that made my stomach turn. The Thai iced tea is sickly sweet and powdery :( We dined in and our table was wet, the booths were ripped and dirty, and it was evident the hostess was surprised we would want to dine-in. Do yourself a favor and try Yummy Garden in Henrietta or Saks Thai by Eastview -- both are better! Maybe you'll have better luck here, but I wish I had known to skip this one. read more

This place is pretty good, not the best thai food I've ever had but not horrible either. I've ordered from here twice now, once for takeout and the other delivery. Both times, the woman on the phone was super pleasant, helpful, and got our order taken down quickly. There's also the option to order online or with the BeyondMenu app which is really nice for those that are anti-phone. For take out, the food was ready right when they said it would be. When I got the food delivered, I was pleasantly surprised that it only took half of the time that they told me it would. Both times, the order arrived correctly and food was hot & fresh. Prices are also pretty good, on par with what's to be expected from a Thai place. I got the chicken pad thai (both times), and the first time I got it was really surprised at how spicy it was. Every other place I've ever had pad thai, it didn't come spicy. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to spicy food though, so it wasn't really an enjoyable meal. Realized later on that this was totally my fault, as when we looked at a different menu for this place online it was even noted as a spicy dish. It is possible to get it not spicy though (which I did the second time) and it was 100 times better, very flavorful. If you're not a fan of spicy, I would recommend doing the same and then spicing it up to taste if it's too bland. They also give you a pretty good amount of food, so for someone that doesn't eat a ton it's nice getting two meals out of one. Food was a little greasier than I would've liked, but not so horrible that it was inedible. I'm sure I'll be calling them again soon. read more

I've only tried a few things on their menu but I've been here a dozen times and their food have been consistently good and comes out really quickly. I've never eat in, only ordering takeout so I'm not sure how their services are when you dine in (although I've never seen anyone actually sits down and eat during the times I was there). Awesome Thai food. Tried 5 dishes. All great. Fresh Basil, nice balance of Thai spices -- sweet salty and sour. I'm really picky with Thai food, and this may be some of the best Thai in the Rochester area. Thai Shrimp and Basil, Pad Thai, Panang curry all excellent. Good food, great "American" Thai and the Chinese is quite good too (they have both). The Thai is almost perfected. It is not original or unique (pineapple coconut fried rice is at every Thai restaurant in the country), however I will say that what they do, they do very well. I've been to some really amazing Thai/French restaurants in other countries so I know that they could expand their culinary offerings, but it is not absolutely necessary. What they do here is provide regular Thai dishes, perfectly. I have never had a bad meal here. I do not think you will be disappointed. Having tried other Asian food in Rochester, this place has my business hands down. And they deliver! read more

Food was ready when I got there, and wasn't too bad. I picked the food up, only stumbled a little on the uneven floor, walking to the front after having to park in the back of the restaurant because the family owners took both out front spaces. Stumbling past the husband and two children who were eating, reading from an iPad and ignoring me, I picked my food and left to go to the hotel to eat. Whoops, no utensils or napkins in the bag. I ordered chicken masmun curry it was very bland and the papaya salad (som tom) in traditional Thai cooking unripe green papaya would be used this placed used ripe papaya it was just horrible. ..I asked them to make both dishes spicy, they gave me side of siracha sauce. I ordered a Green Curry lunch special today for pick up. While eating it I discovered two different hairs in the soup, which to me, is disgusting. I called them shortly after to let them know, expecting at least an offer to refund me. The response I got was that, they make food in a kitchen, where there are hairs, so what do I want them to do? After I expressed that this is an unpleasant experience, she did offer to remake the order or something else, which I suppose is somewhat helpful, but considering what I saw today, I'd rather not eat anything else made in their kitchen full of hair. Clean the kitchen, or offer a refund. Gross! read more

Last night my wife and I decided to try this new restaurant that opened down the street from us who had just sent us their menus. We always want to support local small business, love Thai food and looked forward to having a place which will deliver. We both picked items we feel are standards, she had the eggplant (#35) while I went with the pineapple coconut house fried rice (#30). The order was delivered very quickly, less than 20 minutes, and it was piping hot. The eggplant dish was cooked in a delicious brown sauce with peppers and other veggies and came with a side of rice. It seemed like the chunks of beautiful little Thai eggplant might have been grilled, it was amazing. Perfection. My pineapple coconut rice was sublime. The shrimp were tender and perfectly done as were the chicken and beef. So often I've found this is where restaurants fall down by over cooking the protein and ruining the dish. We both had a serving of each and both actually had to go back for seconds, something we almost never do. Even with that there is enough left over that I'm having it for lunch today! Big portions! Both dishes were clearly the product of a kitchen that cares about the details. Now we're ready to explore the rest of the menu. Fast, friendly service, great prices and terrific food. So happy to have them in our neighborhood and we WILL be regulars!!! read more

If you like your tom kha gai (chicken coconut soup) to actually have and taste like coconut, i.e. white broth, don't order their's. Not sure what was delivered to me, but it's unlike any TKG I've had anywhere, and not in a good way. I called them and the "chef" said "it's how I do tom kha gai". No thanks. read more

we were two elderly people returning home from a trip to strong hospital and decided to order dinner to take home to PA. we had to jump thru hoops to pay for the food through their "beyond menu" ordering. they called and asked a too many questions because we were 70 miles away from home. then we were told we needed to show id to get the food. (they never asked me for it when i got there.) we are both handicapped and can't tolerate stairs and my friend is on oxygen and has trouble walking any distance also. this place has a ramp but it was snow and ice covered. the stairs are not in the greatest shape and i almost fell when coming down them. (when we were talking to the people from beyond menu, i did ask that they bring the food to the car where they could see the id and the credit card by they said no, because of "covid". but it was ok to come into the restaurant. in my opinion that makes no sense.) oh! the food! i thought that my dinner was great. for the price there could have been more but it tasted good. the low score was for the trouble paying and NO handicap access due to their laziness. (there was a shovel at the top of the ramp.) read more

Fast delivery, but overall not very good. The oyster sauce was way to salty and fishy, the noodles in both dishes we ordered were over cooked and mushy, and the ratio of noodle to meat and veg were bad in both. Spring rolls were no better than fried egg rolls I'd buy in the frozen section and heat in the oven (I always order Thai spring rolls and they are the fresh ones not fried so this was also a surprise - should probably say that on the menu on Grub Hub). The Hot and Sour Soup was pretty good, but not really what we would expect from Hot and Sour. Overall, really disappointing. :-( read more

This is my favorite Thai food! The place might be small, but the food is phenomenal. It is made quick and always nice and hot. There Pad Thai is the best I've ever had. It's so flavorful and fresh.
