He scanned our ticket and we boarded. The bus was pretty full, so we ended up sitting separately. The above head storage bins are kind of tight, so I had to take something out of my over stuffed backpack to manage to wiggle it in. While my purse sat on my lap. I liked the foot rest and the hook on the handle on the seat in front of me. Trash bags were hung here and there. Looks like they also provided small bottles of water for us, though we had to grab those ourselves. The electric plugs didn't seem to work, but perhaps the ubs plugs in the ceiling did. Our driver was a great communicator. He set expectations so we knew that we had a 20 min rest stop before arriving at Baltimore, and pointed out things to help us to pay attention and to get back to the right bus. He warned us that given current construction that we were sure to arrive later than what our tickets said, and gave us his best eta given the circumstances. Another passenger later commented that the bus bathroom was clean. We kind of ended up being dropped off on a brightly painted bridge in the middle of no where - perhaps on Maryland Ave?, by a bus stop. A short walk from Penn Station.

Terrible experience! Our group of 32 people waited for over…read morean hour in the rain for the bus to arrive. The bus that finally arrived was a 20-year-old beater. The transmission was bad, the alignment and suspension were shot, and the bathroom door did not latch. The suspension was so severely degraded that it audibly bottomed out on road bumps, causing motion sickness among multiple passengers. The transmission could not maintain speed on inclines, making the journey slow and stressful for everyone on board. The windshield wipers were so worn they could barely clear rain from the windshield (a serious safety hazard). Overhead storage bins would not latch, risking items falling on passengers, and the lighting inside most of them did not work. The spare tires were stored in a luggage compartment and had dangerously little tread remaining. We paid Rally/OurBus for what we were promised would be a newer luxury coach with ample luggage space and modern amenities. Instead, we got an old bus with no electrical outlets, damaged seat upholstery, and a bathroom that reeked before a single passenger had even used it. They sent us a vehicle that should not be in passenger service. When we sought a refund, we were bounced between Rally/OurBus (the broker) and All Aboard Express (the bus company), and now neither company will return our calls. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere!

I'm on the Lucky Starliner on my way to Boston from NYC and thought I should write the review now…read morejust in case I never make it off the bus alive. Please heed my advice and spend an extra $20 for Megabus or Greyhound/Peter Pan. Trust me, you'll be grateful in the end. As I'm writing this review, there is dirty water from a busted air-con system dripping on my shoulder. And it's not only me: a woman two rows in front of me is draped in a towel, three rows in front of her a couple is trying to plug a leak with their own sweater, and the driver's seat is completely soaked. Four seats are roped off and plastic bags filled with brown water are suspended from the ceiling. Apart from the broken air con, the smell of the bathroom is permeating throughout the bus. I've travelled in the 3rd world and I don't mind roughing it out when I have to - but this just isn't worth it. I'm amazed at the number of 3 star reviews for this company. I'll give them zero to one. I've had great experiences with "Apex" (from NY to Philadelphia) and am not opposed to Chinatown buses as a way to get from one place to another. Help me to boycott Lucky Star an maybe they'll change their ways (...and fix their broken air conditioner!). This review isn't exaggerating anything at all. Please stay away from Lucky Star. (Addition from Boston: we made it but my bag, which was in the overhead compartment inside the bus, was soaked with water - getting half of my clothes wet. Lucky Star Bus = very bad way to begin a vacation).

To start my round trip ticket was only $55 dollars which is comparable to other buses that do the DC-NYC route. There was free WiFi, water, access to movies. The driver was very friendly and courteous and ensured that all passengers were respectful of those around them. Lastly, this was the cleanest public bus I've ever been on. The floors were wooden, the seats leather, and the bathroom actually useable without cringing and holding your nose lmao. Despite how amazing the service, and how nice the bus is, people are still gross, so I would recommend bringing wipes and hand sanitizer. THERE IS ANOTHER BEST BUS COMPANY WITH REVIEWS ON YELP. THAT COMPANY IS UNCLAIMED. RELY ON THESE…read moreREVIEWS. This specific review is about Best Bus PRIME. Not the standard Best Bus service. I heard about the PRIME service which is basically an upgraded bus. The bus has single seats on the right and double seats on the left. The service is advertised to have tray tables. The tray table in my single seat does not work. I want to rate this service a 3 because of the tray table not working. The seat pitch (space between seats) is larger/longer than standard buses - which is true and is nice since I'm over six feet tall. One thing that's not advertised but I did notice was shades for the window which is nice. My window had them. Some did not. As others mentioned, the wifi can be spotty. In the age of cell phones and mobile hotspots, just be prepared to use yours in case the bus wifi goes out. The complimentary water was nice - but it was not cold/chilled. Just ambient temparature water. The timeliness of arrival always depends on traffic - so most times the arrival time is after the scheduled time (especially since Best Bus advertises 4 hour trip times from DC to NYC) - I have not seen arrival times within 4 hours - it's always later (sometimes up to an hour later). It's due to traffic though, not driver skills or service. Overall I do like Best Bus PRIME. Would I take it again - probably - if the schedule works. It only runs once a day - all the other services are regular Best Bus service.

They have outlets for each seat which is helpful. The bus has always left on time but tends to arrive about 20- 30minutes late, I'm guessing due to traffic getting out of the city. This company is a joke…read more A friend of mine arrived to the designated bus stop on 2230 New York Avenue NE on Saturday, January 4 at 1:15 p.m. ahead of the 1:30 p.m. departure time from Washington, DC with a ticket purchased through Wanderu website to get to New York, New York. No bus came at 1:30 p.m. but a white bus arrived at 2 p.m. with no visible signage and the driver in no uniform but in casual clothing, and he was unsure if this was the bus he bought a ticket for. He approached the bus driver, and showed him the ticket, trying to inquire if this was the right bus, but the driver waved him off, closed the door and drove off. He had to ask other people outside about the bus, and they signaled to him that the bus that left was his bus. I was so disappointed by what had transpired, as it is not often easy for Deaf individuals to communicate with Hearing individuals, and he did my best in approaching the driver and finding signages to determine whether he was in the right place at the right time, and whether he should have boarded or not. He had taken an Uber to the bus stop and can prove that he was at the stop early in time for the trip. As a result of missing the trip and awful experience, he had to book a bus ticket with a different company to make it on time to New York. When reaching out to customer service, they were not helpful, being negligent to customer experience, and only refuted that the majority of the people (obviously without accessibility issues) were able to board the bus, and even then, we didn't see anyone else board the bus so maybe it was at a different stop. Would not recommend, and with the response being appalling, this business deserves to be shut down.

The things I noticed/encountered: -The seats were a little smaller, but fairly comfy. -There were seat belts available -Depending on the seat, outlets were in the bottom/front of the 2 seats or side of the window seats. -There were large, panoramic tinted windows, which made the ride better. -Large garbage bags were placed throughout the bus, which helped keep the bus cleaner (assuming people used them). -The bathroom was small, but decent and clean...at least at the start of the ride. -There were foot rests, but they weren't very useful. I took the 5:30 pm bus on a Wednesday, so it wasn't as packed as a weekend bus may have been. The driver was friendly, check-in process was seamless...we just gave our names. I didn't have any large luggage, so I didn't have to use that extra compartment on the outside/bottom of the bus, but it was available for self-loading/unloading. There was additional storage available above the seats (similar to an airplane) and below the front seats. Even though there was traffic and heavy rain, we made it to our stop (stop #2 out of 3) in perfect time. There are multiple signs for Go Bus, luckily the bus driver walked over to us and let us know that the bus is actually stopped 2 signs ahead. Would I take this bus again? Yea, absolutely.
