I'm a touring musician. I'm seldom home long enough to get much done in lieu of stage clothes, and…read moreI desperately needed a shirt customized for a video I plan to do later this month. I wrote to ART square before I hit the road last week and asked if they could help a traveling musician passing through (who didn't have much time in any one place). I got a warm reply, so I went by the shop in between obligations for the filk fest. As I began to describe to Sayah what I needed, I noticed that he had a oud (one of the most beautiful and expressive instruments I'm familiar with) leaning against the wall, and I exclaimed, "You have an oud!" Then I noticed he actually had two. His eyes lit up, and to make a long story short, not only did he do a beautiful job on my shirt, but we also got to jam out together! How often does a traveling musician get to have that little unexpected slice of awesomeness? Sayah and his wife Rania are from Syria, and even though I offered to learn a Syrian tune, he said, "No, I want to learn one of yours!" So I sent him a link to my song "Exodus," and he also added a beautiful texture to a Scottish song that I just threw at him with no preparation. We had an absolute ball. Sayah normally has a two-week waiting period, but he made an exception for me, which I was not expecting. He invited me to come back and play anytime I'm in the area. My deepest gratitude to him and Rania. Shukran, my new friends! PS. No need for alarm. The giant scissors didn't cut into my head.

I've worked with a delivery cleaner for years and wanted to work with a company that was local to…read moreDublin, so I actually reached out to them years ago, but ran into a hiccup. I'm colorblind and hang all my ties over my suits and shirts so that I know what matches - so it's really convenient for me to be able to go into my closet and easily see all of my suits, shirts, and ties "looking at me" so that I can easily pick what I'm going to wear that day. I started working with Dublin Cleaners and the first shirts that came back were hung the opposite way - so that when I hung my clothes in the closet, all the shirts and suits "faced away" from me. It sounds pretty stupid as I write it down here, but I called in and asked someone if they could switch them around, but I was told that it wasn't possible. The machine apparently is built to put the hangars in the shirts with the hook facing right, so that was that. Again, it sounds dumb, but this was a deal breaker for me, especially considering the fact that I knew that the other company I'd previously worked with had already done a great job put the hangars on the clothes the way I liked them. Unfortunately they weren't local, but I ended up going back to them anyway... for a good 3 years. Then one day, Lonnie (the driver who comes through our area) saw me outside and stopped to talk. This was actually the second time he'd stopped me and he'd actually come to visit our home, knocked on the door, and spoke to my wife in the past as well. We got to talking about my little "first world problem" with the hangars and I explained that I was really happy with the other company I was working with, that they hadn't done anything wrong, and that having the clothes on the hangar in this particular manner was a deal breaker for me - and that I'd already tried to work with Dublin Clears before and was told they couldn't do it. To my surprise, Lonnie persisted and made it happen. I've been a happy customer ever since!

This is my first time experiencing dry cleaning for a garment and not only has it been a nightmare,…read morebut I feel like it's extremely unprofessional on their end and frustrating for me. I dropped off a jumpsuit on 10/2/2023 for a wedding I was going to on 10/7/2023. The ticket gave me a completed promise time of 10/6/2023 at 5pm. I go back to pick up my garment on 10/6/2023 and was told it's still being worked on and won't be finished until 10/9/2023, which is after the wedding. I was told by the front that it was still being cleaned at the corporate location and I could go there to pick it up since they would expedite it. 20 minutes later, I get a call saying they wouldn't have it ready. Fast forward to 10/9/2023, I called to store to see if it was completed. I was told it wasn't and that "they don't know" when it'll be done.. then they admit that the garment is lost. The front desk person gave no type of apology and just wanted to defend vs. listen to the issue of being given 2 different promise times that haven't been accurate. At this point, I requested to speak with management and voiced my concerns. I was told this would be investigated for them to find my garment and that they would reimburse me if they can't find it. I get a call for follow up from them saying that they're still watching the tapes. A week after that, I reach out since I haven't heard anything. I spoke with management again, who said they'll send a check to reimburse my garment since they still cannot locate where it went. I gave them my information to complete this process and was told I should receive my refund in another week. It's been two weeks and I still haven't received anything. I've called to management twice last week and was only able to leave a voicemail, still haven't received any type of follow up. I called and spoke with someone over the weekend, who said they'll refer my message to management so we'll see if it happens..
