The…read morepark is beautiful, well maintained and convenient to the highway without having the highway noise. Check-in was quick and simple as they told me were the last reservation they had for that day. We went to our site and after more than an hour of diagnosis I determined the power pedestal had a bad ground. I called two different numbers found on the website to request a different site and the calls went to voicemail. I left a message and walked to the front desk with the same request. They had gone home for the day. I found a different number on the front door and called that number and the person that answered informed me it was an answering service. I told them the problem and they said they would call maintenance. The temperature at that time was 92 degrees and my coach was getting quite hot inside. I informed them I was moving to a different site and they said I couldn't do so because someone may have that site reserved. I told her I was moving anyway. I had already been told I was the last to arrive that day. I later received a text message informing me that maintenance was not coming and it was okay to move, however in the future I shouldn't move without permission. Never once in any of these exchanges did anyone apologize for the failure on their part. That's why I rated the customer service so poorly.

We said yes, one dog. They asked what breed, and we replied that she's a mixed breed. We were asked if there was any Pitt in her, which there obviously is, so we said yes. They have a zero Pitt bull policy. No other breed. Doesn't matter if they are a mix, and the most gentle creature. In six years, traveling all over Oregon, Washington and Idaho, this was a first for us. Fortunately the other nearby rv parks aren't so ignorant.

The grounds seem nice enough although finding an empty space could be an issue since it always seems fairly full when we drop by. Found this place totally by accident after pulling off I-84 to use the rest facilities at the nearby Snell park. Arlington is a nice little town out "in the middle of nowhere". The nearest burb is quite some distance away but Arlington has most anything you might want. Gasoline, a couple of restaurants and so on. Five minutes and you can explore the town in it's entirety. We like the marina and have gotten a few good pictures of the various vessels there. You never know when you'll find a new one moored there so it's always fun to swing by. The rail line passes within a few hundred feet of the RV area and trains are frequent. Long freight trains. Passing through railroad crossings with bells and whistles. There's also a lot of BNSF rail maintenance work going on right next to the RV park. I can't imagine that it's all that peaceful there because of this especially at night. But I suppose you get used to anything eventually.

There is overflow dry camping as well that could handle probably another 15 to 20 rigs. Full hook ups or $30 per night. Dry camping is nine dollars per night. Located a short walk to downtown Arlington there is a very nice little park, swimming area, hardware store, grocery store, ice cream shop, and a small health clinic. You are right on I 84 and there are frequent trains, which is the sound of commerce. The RV park/Marina is right next to a very large active green elevator. As we are writing this, it is filling a large barge with grain for parts East. Located right on the Columbia River it's a good representation of this part of the state of Oregon.

Granted, there are still some weeds and repairs that need to be done but they haven't been here long enough to bring this place up to their high standards. We've defended this place. When this year someone said the local wineries said customers complain-we even said we've had a good time. Until today-I forgot the no food rule at the pool (mind you after eating my lunch outside the pool I just spaced and had 2 bites of Chex mix) and the Male Manager came out and scolded me. In front of my 6yr old. We pay to rent a tent site, day camp, bike around, use playground etc. but he got so mad and asked me "if I had trouble reading rules" and then proceeded to "ask us to leave the premise" because we were not overnight camping. I want to be clear-day prior-5 people at this same pool were using it, as visitors. Never paid $0. Friends of people LIVING there or visiting. They are not paying a dime and were at the same pool. Eating. Talking, playing. Because he was off shift nothing happened. But because I ate TWO bites in his presence, I was asked to leave in front of my child with a rude tone. They said others want to use the pool and ask to pay and they have to decline. Based on the open 100+ sites and only angry customers-I doubt that. They should welcome a nice, pool/tent paying customers. Oh-and we offered to put all of our food in our car so my "snacky" self wouldn't munch again. But we were kicked out before. SUPER customer centric Stay here if you know where to eat-at the right times. And are ready to be SCRUTINIZED if not. Buckle up.

Contact was made and it went extremely well as they were very knowledgeable and recommended the best way to maneuver our long 5th wheel into a spot that was adjacent to the pond. It was super easy to find. Layout was well planned out. The spots were plentiful. The pond is amazing for dogs. The pathways around the park - including to the Yakima River were well kept. The facilities were great and their store is one of the best I've ever been in. Highly recommend this park! We will be back

There is a large pond in the park that you can use for calm water activities. Our grandsons had a blast making friends, cycling and paddle boarding. There is plenty to do right here at Whispering Pines. There is a bounce pad, two nice playgrounds, a dog area, and as I mentioned before, the pond. The sites are large, level and nestled amongst the trees. There is plenty of wildlife for your viewing enjoyment. The park does have many rules in place for everyone's safety; and they do drive around in their little carts to enforce them. *Mind your manners and you shouldn't have any problems.

I am NOT a fan of booking a specific site, paying in full (half a year in advance), and NOT getting it, when we would absolutely be showing up at their posted check-in time. I get it. It's a holiday weekend, and you want to maximize your $$$ opportunities, but dang it....c'mon. We went from reserving the best site (#22), to being given Site #1, which is the very first one you see, directly across a beautiful parking lot. Their bathroom was a football field away from the site. It was unisex w/shower, and 8 times outta 10 you went to use it....it was occupied, and someone was taking a shower. You won't--and can't--wait in that situation. I don't begrudge the folks using the facilities in that regard, but it was untenable. Thankfully, I spotted a porta pot off their property that was available, yet still a football field away. It became the Wifey's and my personal pissatorium. To note, we never saw the camp host. She seemed nice when we got a call on our way down to see if we were, 'Still coming?' Maybe we disappointed her when we said we were on our way. I can't help feeling that if we missed her call, Site #1 would have been given away, and we would've been s*** outta luck when we showed up at check-in...
