We arrived shortly after 9 am and had a very brief wait for a table. The restaurant has a very clean and welcoming ambiance. Our server was there promptly as we were seated taking our drink order and finding out we were first timers, pointed out common favorites as suggestions. We shared a biscuit and gravy breakfast plate, which the restaurant was kind enough to split for us in the kitchen. The menu stated they used sausage gravy and photos from here on Yelp supported that; we however got gravy with zero sausage. It wasn't even a creamy country gravy. It was so thin. The taste was good but still disappointing. The potatoes were excellent. Well seasoned with crispy bits. The egg was perfect for us. Over easy order=whites solid with runny yolk. The egg was so good I ate most of it before I remembered to take a picture. The food I'd give 3.5 stars but the service pulled my rating up to 4. We do plan on returning for their amazing looking pancakes, waffle plates and or French toast. When we left the restaurant at 10:10 AM the waitlist had started. All benches by the entrance were full. The parking lot and inside tables were packed on a weekday in mid-September and so there was a short wait for a table. They also have booths and the decor is a pleasant country ambiance. We were seated in the Meeting Room with a large TV displaying a trivia game that you can purchase participation. Its music clashed horribly with the restaurant's but blessedly a waiter turned it off. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with Eggs and add pork sausage. We also got a side of their signature Sweet & Spicy bacon (blackened). My wife ordered the Everything Breakfast Bowl. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Their Bacon is very, very salty, hint of sweet, and very mild heat and definitely better paired with something bland like eggs. My entree had a generous serving of pan fried potatoes. My wife's entree took a few minutes longer than mine to come out, so they proactively brought her a compensatory fruit bowl. First time in was a pleasant breakfast experience. My wife really enjoyed her Hibiscus Mule and Crab Cake Benedict. I had a screwdriver and the Classic Eggs Benedict, which was just okay. The ham was a little overcooked and too large compared to the eggs and english muffins. The kitchen also went a little too heavy on the paprika, especially on the extra side that I ordered for my potatoes. The service however was exceptional! I believe our servers name was Hadiya and she's what elevated this to a 4 star from 3. She was attentive, very friendly and offered some good recommendations. Our server was super friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. The food itself was pretty solid. My friend had the Parisian Eggs Benedict, and I went with the biscuits and gravy plus a side of ham. One thing that made us laugh was the note at the top of the drink menu saying drinks can't be returned, must've happened enough times to warrant the disclaimer. First time trying this place as we passing through the area on vacation. Ordered the oatmeal pancake. It was huge and covered most of the plate. I enjoyed several bites, but couldnʻt finish it. I wish I had discovered Sunnyside Up before I left Albuquerque to head home. I love Eggs Benedict and will usually steer towards those at a restaurant as I can have the usual breakfast items at home. I was highly impressed with the meal as it came out. This had thick slices of ham which compared to another restaurant I had eggs benedict at earlier in my trip, there was barely any meat there. The potatoes were nicely seasoned too. I had an ice coffee to drink and unlike others I had, this wasn't watered down and came with refills. The food was very tasty, portions are large, and reasonably priced. Our server, Mireya, was a sweetheart, and all of the staff are attentive and efficient. But a few years back they rebranded and got rid of the franchise, but now it's basically a local version of the same thing. They have a large selection of breakfast foods, including everything you can imagine from sweet to savory. They have a good variety of coffees and alcoholic drinks. I ordered the steak skillet and sub the chile on the side for gravy. My skillet had the ranch potatoes, roasted veggies, steak and scrambled eggs. It was really good and very filling. The wait was a little on the longer side, but as you sit around, you realize a lot of people were waiting in their cars so it was more busy than it looked initially. I understand it's a holiday but you need a table time limit on a holiday. The wait time is crazy. There is no way that people should be waiting for two hours or more. Get your restaurant together. From the reviews, this was supposed to be the best breakfast place in Albuquerque. But it fell quite short of our expectations. The restaurant is located in a strip mall next to a Marriott.. so you have plenty of parking. They do not take reservations but will put you on a waitlist - so make sure you get on it. The waiters seemed rushed. Our server spilled hot coffee on my friend and then barely apologized. They missed taking one persons order too and did not compensate for the extra wait time (almost 25 mins for my friend to get her food) Now coming to the food itself - nothing great.
