The food was great! I had the breakfast burrito with tofu, (vegan style), two friends had the ... I think they were the enchiladas and they enjoyed their food also! Most of the seats outdoors to accommodate 3 were already taken so we sat inside. The biggest drawback to our meet-up was the table of people in back of us. They were sooooo loud that we couldn't hear each other! So I suggest sitting outside! The service was very good and I guess you never know who's seated near you! As an avid foodie and reviewer, I have always believed the people and their craft makes the place and Cafe Lush has this down to an art form. It is very evident that they put their heart and souls into their work for which I have deep respect and admiration. That in itself shall make me return here on my next Albuquerque layover. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and Amy's hospitality and service reflected in it. The other lady whose name I didn't get was also equally awesome. The cafe itself is very cozy with a warm atmosphere whether inside or outside. For dining I opted for the breakfast tacos and I'll say this, sometimes the best food is the simplest. One bite and I knew I made the right choice (even gave me ideas for cooking at home!). The tortillas were in harmony with the eggs and veggies and absolutely hit the spot. 5 stars from me and I shall definitely recommend it to my colleagues for their layovers! We've wanted to visit Cafe Lush downtown for a while but couldn't coordinate our schedules with their business hours. Thankfully, we made it work today. We snagged the last indoor table and perused the menu. Cafe Lush has a special brunch menu on weekends which includes your choice of any beverage they offer, which is a nice touch. My iced mocha and my husband's iced caramel macchiato were both very good. I considered trying the Lush Benedict but bacon was calling my name so I went with the breakfast plate - the aforementioned bacon, two eggs, brunch potatoes, toast, fresh fruit, and a mini-muffin. Everything was delicious. I'm not sure what they put on the bacon, but I detected a little sweetness and some warm spices. My husband had the breakfast tacos, which were also great - eggs, cheese, red chile, and avocado in super-fresh corn tortillas. So good. Service was great, friendly and efficient. It's kinda loud, so don't come here expecting to enjoy a quiet, intimate conversation with anyone. It might be quieter outside but it was hot. I need to come back and try the Benedict! read more

While in Albuquerque for a conference, we stopped by Cafe Lush for brunch and had a fantastic experience. The moment we walked into the door, the wait staff welcomed us with kindness and warmth. We arrived early enough to beat the rush and were seated right away. As newbies, we asked the waitress about what she would recommend. She let us know that the breakfast pizza was an iconic dish, so we each got that. We added a side of sausage for each of us because we're carnivores and it was super scrumptious! The breakfast pizza was delicious, hearty, and full of flavor. We each devoured ours and walked away full! We also loved the house made cinnamon bread which was a hearty and delicious side dish! Yum! Super cute little spot! Ample outside seating and seating inside but I'd rather sit outside when the weather is nice. My friend and I met for breakfast. I had the Lush Benedict and my friend had the Lushaladas. I really enjoyed the tasty hash browns with scallions and the homemade red chili hollandaise. My friend loved her dish as well. Both plates had a cute little gluten free muffin and lovely fruit. Their code is good too as they use Red Rock Roasters. How can you not love a breakfast/brunch place that has lots of delicious options, but also can make anything on the menu gluten free. With a family member with celiac and boy were thrilled to find a place that we knew he could safely eat. The owner has gluten intolerance, and they are well-versed in how to serve gluten-free. We all had great breakfast from the basic eggs and bacon to a breakfast burrito to the gluten-free French toast which was awesome. It's a small eating area, so I have to imagine. Cafe lush as everything going for them. Great location and a cute interior, really friendly staff who are attentive and make your coffee and food in sight of the dining room. It was a fairly busy morning but the service did not drop and the menu had something for everyone. I enjoyed the veggie hash and added sausage, I'm generally not a huge fan of poached eggs or artichoke hearts but they worked well and i was so full, couldn't even finish. Wow! I didn't expect the food to be that good. I loved the variety of ingredients in the vegetable breakfast hash. The croissant sandwich was so good. I can't believe this is my first time coming here! We had to wait a few minutes for a table indoors (they have outdoor seating but didn't want to utilize with the heat right now), and service was fast. I had the 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad combo, and chose the Mo with the kale salad. I loved the sandwich. It came with roasted veggies, vegan cheese, greens, and a delicious sauce. Would totally get again! The salad was yummy as well. One thing I really love about this restaurant is that everything can be made gluten free. Before continuing my road trip and leaving New Mexico, I needed some breakfast. Fortuitously, a quick walk from my hotel brought me to Cafe Lush, where I ordered black coffee ($2.75, w/refills) and the Lushaladas ($11.25). Although the coffee had the price point of diner coffee sitting in the save pot for hours on end, it tasted quite decent, like making drip coffee with a dripper (Hario V60, not the $20 Walmart machine) using blended medium roast beans. It's not an Ethiopian Yirgacheff and I won't get an index card with cupping notes and a pedigree, but it's far better than the price point suggests. I suspect my arrival time at 7:30 AM, 30 minutes after opening, may have something to do with this. My main course, the Lushaladas, consisted of stacked enchiladas served with chile and cheeses, breakfast potatoes and topped with two eggs. Served with tortilla, lettuce and tomato. It tasted exactly as advertised on the menu. Chile made of roasted peppers, cheese, eggs, and potatoes make for a hearty and savory breakfast. read more

Time for breakfast, something close by work. So here we are. A small place in a non descript building. If you weren't looking you could miss it it. Sometimes gps is a bonus. Theres about 15 tables inside and a few on the sidewalk. It was a little too cold for outside dining. We find a place in the corner, menus follow with a request for our drink order. A soy milk latte and coffee. We selected our food order - a breakfast scramble and French toast with Kahlua syrup. In a word absolutely delicious. The Kahlua syrup added a very different flavor that a straight maple syrup can give you. The scramble was equally good - plenty of cheese covering the eggs, homemade chile and turkey sausage and mushrooms. There was plenty of all the ingredients.
