George was v friendly both in-person & on the phone. The price was fair, service excellent. Afterward George told me that the brakes were low, needed a brake job for front brakes. I had been told by prior garage that my brakes were wearing & would need a brake job probably at next service. Again, the price was fair. Since then the smell like something was burning is gone & the previous garage had been unable to fix that. I like the service at Newton Gulf. Both George, the owner, and Giovanni, his technician have helped me get ready for winter. I'm coming back.

There's a welcoming, local community vibe to this gas station. People stopping by to get gas (or to get their car fixed) know the workers, and vice versa. I recently came here because my driver's side headlight was out and they were able to swap out the bulb and fix the light within 30 minutes. Incredible. During my visit, they noticed I could use some more antifreeze and filled me up without hesitation. How amazing!! I come here for gas all the time and I also to do my annual state inspection here. The inspection is $35 cash and it takes about 15 minutes start to finish.

I can't believe mandatory full service station still exist until yesterday. I told him that not only did I not see "full service" sign anywhere in the station, there are four pumps in total so there is gotta be one in which customers can just help themselves. He insisted that all four has pumps are full service only, and blocked my credit card repeatedly when I tried to insert it into one of the stations. In the end, I decided to leave and go to another station nearby instead. I'm not sure if this is a station specific policy or if this specific individual just wants to get tipped, but the experience was honestly bizarre. Forcing the full service during the time of covid when the entire station is empty is quite absurd. I understand there are full service stations in the state of New Jersey and maybe in the town of Weymouth, but this is Watertown in MA. I've never had someone forcing the full service in the years I've lived in MA. It was honestly one of the most ridiculous experience I have had at a gas station period. Being rushed out without properly doing your safety checks and wearing your seat belts can cause safety hazards. The owner or his son is being too profit driven and its scarcity mindset, risking customers/drivers' safety.
