Very fast car inspections and there's been no wait whenever I've come - which is typically at the end of month AKA when there's crazy lines everywhere else. I've stopped coming here for gas after having more than one instance where the gas ran out on me in the middle of it being pumped and I have to turn my car on and reverse to the pump behind me. Not a big deal but when there's another car getting their car pumped behind me, it becomes a bit of a waiting game which isn't ideal. read more

They "inspected" a used car purchased from KG Motors, also in Newton. PASSED inspection in spite of inoperable emergency brake, rotted sub frame , corroded brake rotors. Their "repair" shop stuffed new brake pads on top of rotors. RMV investigating & AGs office looking over complaint about shady car dealer. The two may be in cahoots to pass junk cars. read more

Newton's own Click and Clack! Been going there for 11 years now for gas and service. They like to guess the diagnosis before popping the hood and they're usually right... then they guess what the dealer will charge and they're right about that too, so I often come back to them and their work is fast, high quality, and much cheaper. If there's a quick and easy fix they'll propose that first. For example I was getting a camshaft sensor warning and the younger guy said "I know, it's winter, you park your car outside and a mouse is living on top of your engine and chewed through the cable." Sure enough there was a little nest where he said it would be and damage to the cable nearby. He warned me that Subaru wouldn't do it under warranty but I tried anyway and he was right because animal damage isn't covered, so I came back to RS and they did it for a little more than half of what Subaru would have charged. I called because my car door wouldn't shut and AAA wouldn't help me. I asked if RS had a tow truck -they didn't- but they asked where I was and since I was close they offered to drive over and bring an extra person who would hold the door shut as I drove to the gas station so that I didn't have to spend money on a tow truck. I was so impressed and grateful. It turned out it was a simple fix that they were able to do right there. They didn't charge me and were so gracious about it. I will definitely be calling them in the future and I recommend them to everyone! read more

Broke down on the newton rotary while trying to get to a gas station in the middle of traffic with my 18 year old daughter on the way to a college meeting. Absolutely freaked out. Called the gas station for help, and without a second thought, George the owner came and walked down to help us. We didn't even ask him to come, but 5 minutes later he came walking down the road gas in hand. Brought us gas and absolutely saved the day. Extremely nice, great service, and refused to take the extra money we wanted to give him. Kindness like this you don't find in a franchise. So glad our paths crossed! I wish I can give zero star! Went there just to get gas and in the following day, I receive multiple attempts charges on my credit card! 200, 2500, 2900 dollars!! Lucky that my credit card company will investigate this issue and dispute the charge. How do I know this is the place/employee that steal my credit card info? Absolutely terrible service. The attendant was rude and offensive from the moment he approached our vehicle.

The front of my car felt "funny" - not handling right, making increasingly frequent "clunk" sounds, and I made an appointment to bring it in. The night before, driving home, I felt troubled about it and so I came to R&S for gas (they usually cost less) and I asked if the owner, George, could take a look. It was the end of the day and I think most places would have said "come back tomorrow". George came out, drove it about 6 yards, said "I'm putting this on the lift." Once it was up, he showed me that the control arm to the wheel was broken, the right-front tire was waving around, and it was unsafe to drive. He may have saved my life. He got on the computer, ordered parts after closing hours and had it fixed the next day. We have come here for years and George and his crew are the best, always helpful, great at communicating options, honest and always reasonable in price. This week's repair was one of many times they went "above and beyond." I enthusiastically recommend them for gasoline, inspections, or any auto repair. read more

What an awful place. Guy did not want to do on Uber inspection because my car had things I had from going shopping. I told him I would leave the things outside the car and then put them back in. My Uber form does not require the car to be clean in any way. This is not the TNC inspection. Guy refuses to do it and when pressed finally admits to being a lazy ass and not wanting to do it because it's the end of the day. You've been warned folks. read more

I've been going to R&S for 15 years. They are competent, honest and quick. I had a car I bought new. After the warranty ran at 100,000 I started bringing it here for brake's air filters tires etc. I went another hard 150,000 miles and they kept it running smoothly. One person complained about the attitude, no they won't discuss the best shoe store in the vicinity but they will do a kick butt job fixing your car. read more

I had written a review previously for the business but had come across a negative review written a couple of months ago from another customer. I was surprised to see her negative comments and questioned if this happened at this location. I say that because she ends with that there is Gulf station across the street. The Massachusetts Turnpike (and a bridge to get over it as part of the Newton Corner rotary) are across the street. There is a Honda dealer to the left and a Dunkin Donuts and liquor store to the right. There isn't a Gulf station nearby...the closest is probably three miles west in West Newton. I believe the customer who wrote the bad review is mistaken about the station and visited another station. read more

This is one of maybe 3 reviews I have written in my entire time as a yelper and I honestly cannot believe I am writing a review of a gas station right now, but I am so shocked and disappointed by the treatment I just received from the attendant (older man with gray/white hair and glasses) that I had to pull over to type this. He was rude to me from the moment I pulled up, giving me an attitude because I couldn't straighten out until the car in front of me pulled away due to the angle at which I pulled in. Then when i handed him my card and asked to PLEASE fill it with regular (with a smile on my face bc I'm never rude to people even if I'm having the worst day ever) he mumbled something, so I repeated myself "fill it with regular please" bc I assumed he didn't hear what I said. And then he mockingly said "Ya I understand. Are u using a card?" And I said "yeah" as I was holding it out the window and he actually copied me like a child would "YEAH". So I kept my mouth shut and was just going to chalk it up to a case of the Mondays, or thought maybe I misheard or misunderstood his tone.. Until he came back with my receipt to sign and handed it to me and very condescending said "YOU'RE WELCOME". I then realized that this man was looking for an argument. When I told him I was very disappointed with the way he had been treating me since the moment I pulled up and was not going to thank him for his awful service he actually got his face almost in my car and argued with me for a few minutes until he decided he was done and dismissed me with "ya ok BYE". I told him I hoped he had a better night bc he had obviously had a bad day. But honestly there's no justification for his actions and if he hadn't already swiped my card I would have told him never mind and gotten gas somewhere else, and if it wasn't so late I would've gone inside to speak with a manager or owner bc I was extremely offended. I will NEVER patronize this place again and will make sure everyone I know in the area hears this story. There's a Gulf across the street with the same prices people!! :) read more

I would never let them fix my car again. Learned my lesson the hard way. The job given wasn't even a hard job. I ask them to Install x with 6 bolts, instead they stripe those bolts and they charge me for the incomplete job. wth. Not coming back!!! Not even for gas. read more
