We chose Sunrise Bakery to make our wedding cake. We couldn't be happier with the look and taste. Cake tasting was pretty fun and the man (forgot his name) that helped us with the tasing was really funny and easy going. I'm not a cake lover but I loved so many different combinations that they offered. We ended up going with marble cake with chocolate ganache and strawberry mouse in our wedding cake. I ended up going back to the bakery to get a surprise grooms cake for my husband, they accomplished my vision perfectly and again, the flavor was awesome. For the grooms cake I chose funfetti, I knew my husband would love it and it was definitely a crowd pleaser. During my couple of visits we took goodies home and always were impressed with our selections. If I'm ever in the turlock area, I will always make sure to stop by Sunrise for a delicious treat. read more

I wish I can give no Stars. My Daughter was told at the time of ordering her Wedding Cake that they can definitely duplicate the design that she wanted and it would be hand designed and even better since they would use color fondant instead of the ribbon on the sample picture. She went away from her appointment in complete confidence it would be done as highly promised. When the cake was delivered it was known right away that it was nothing as promised. The cake looked more like a poor attempt from someone doing it themself at home and more like a birthday look than a Wedding Cake. They definitely over sold their skill or put a newbie with no experience making hand designs on this order. They didn't even put a support on the top cake to prevent the topper from sinking into the cake. It's been one year since the Wedding but I am still so upset that my daughters vision of her perfect Wedding Cake was crushed by Sunrise Bakery. The girl at the counter was beyond rude and supposedly the "employee of the year" (according to the photo on their wall) more like "WORST employee of the year." I had previously called to let them know I needed to order a cake and when I showed up that girl was saying I can't do that and to show up in 4 hours (I drove far just for this bakery). I was beyond disappointed with their customer service. I showed back up hours later only for them to write on a paper my order (they could've done that from the start) the girl had so much attitude and sass and even rolled her eyes at me. She was even on her phone while ringing me up. If only the customer service was as good as the cake I ordered. C'mon sunrise, step up your service! read more

I never write reviews but I just had to write one because I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED by the quality vs cost of the wedding cake here. It looked nothing like what we asked for. We didn't ask for any difficult design or coloring, and the lady whom we met for cake appointment was busy doing other things while we made the appointment. We showed examples of the cake that we wanted and she assured that they can make the coloring and the design. However, the cake literally looked like a childish painting and it definitely showed that they didnt spend much time on it. I was just speechless about how the cake looked when I first saw the cake during the reception part. Omg they are amazing!!! We just celebrated our sons first birthday with an awesome spongebob cake designed by them - and everyone raved about how delicious it was, too!!!! They are so creative and great prices for such specialty cakes. Thank you Sunrise for making such a special cake foe our celebration! When I went in to order, the owner spent time with me designing it despite how busy the shop was and dealing with a down register issue at the same time. And so accommodating! They are usually not open Sundays but I ordered a whip cream cake and he recommended to store it in his deep chiller so I could pick it up that Sunday morning. After a poor experience cake tasting at another bakery, my fiancé and I were a little lost on where to go as we were on crunch time to order a cake for our wedding. Top notch!!!! I stop by this place every time we go to Turlock. First off, the staff is incredible nice, warm and helpful. The place is filled with various treats, from cookies to cakes. A lot of popular Assyrian cookies and desserts mixed with incredible cakes. My grandma had a birthday recently and her birthday cake from here was beyond delicious....not to mention it looked incredible. My second favorite item is called "Tabagah." It is a walnut cream cake and tastes amazing with tea. Before I leave Turlock, I get some to bring back to the Bay. I wanna bring my friends from the bay to Turlock, just se they can get things from Sunrise Bakery. Literally can think of no other way to describe this place besides perfect. I used this bakery for my wedding (it was one recommended by the venue) and might I say I was NOT disappointed, the cake tasted and looked amazing! At the consultation I told the man (I forgot his name) how many people and what kind of cake I was looking for. He was extremely helpful and even suggested to get some cupcakes because of the number of people (I'm so thankful he suggested it too!) during the consultation I had my two kids who started to get fussy, the man was so kind to them, talked to them and even asked what sample combo they liked the best (major points in my opinion when businesses are kind to kids). At the wedding everyone was saying how amazing the cake looked and tasted, my husband and I got one bite each lol by the time we thought "oh we should go get a piece" most people had gone up for seconds and EVERYTHING was eaten I now take my kids in to get a cookie whenever we stop at the bank across the parking lot. I was very sad to see staff not wearing mask.This has been my favorite bakery for many years. I looked in the prep room and several workers were working with food, talking away with no mask. The lady behind counter had no mask and they allowed customers to not wear mask. My family ordered a three layer cake from this bakery for a surprise 25th birthday. I had no idea they were throwing me a party and when I saw the cake I almost fell over! It was gorgeous! It had a panda head at the top (my favorite animal!) and it looked amazing! Not cheesy like you would think. And luckily it tasted even BETTER than it looked!
