Im a first time customer and came in shortly after opening on a Thursday. The place gives a comfortable home type feel. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich with a side of mash potatoes. The sandwich was good quality although it was lacking a flavor or some sort, I couldn't put my finger on it. (Maybe more aioli? Seasoning on the chicken? A good addition would be bacon, I don't know if they have it though!) The mash and gravy were great. I also ordered a hot caramel macchiato which was great! I originally went in for the old school red steer french dip which I haven't had in years but changed my mind last minute! Love these pizzas! The crust is a perfect chew with a really nice crispy bite. All the herbs compliment the toppings. Was at our favorite bar next door and decided to try this place out. Originally wanted to grab a slice of pizza but decided to get sandwiches instead. Walked in and seen them slicing meat fresh! Did not disappoint, sandwiches were filled with meat! The Pastrami dip was a fav, full of flavor! The Turkey dip not so much flavor but it was still satisfying, just my opinion. Simply the best pizza in Turlock! I would like it slightly more crispy on the bottom but otherwise perfect. Also other items are amazing. The salads are delicious! The Caprese Sandwich is perfection. All the bread it great. Adding the Red Steer is fantastic. Doesn't have the personality of the old Red Steer but the food is good. Be aware the Red Steer guy is pretty gruff lol. It has been a minute since we last dined at Crust & Crumb! Since we were last there, quite a few changes were made! They have expanded their dining area which is nice to see. They have also partnered with a former very popular restaurant from Turlock called the Red Steer. My husband and I decided to have an impromptu lunch date during Thanksgiving break and visited Crust & Crumb. The menu was different than what we remembered but still had very nice offerings. My husband ordered the pastrami sandwich with a side of potato salad. I ordered the spinach salad. Both entrees were delicious. Great flavors and fresh ingredients! I asked the sweet girl at the counter who took our order if they still have their amazing donuts. Unfortunately the baker no longer makes donuts which is so unfortunate. They had the best maple bacon donuts hands down! I am still hoping they will bring back the donuts! One can only hope. In the meantime we will return and look forward to trying some other items from Crust & Crumb! read more

After seeing the 4.5 star rating, I may have raised my expectations too . We ordered a 16" Arties special, a slice of the focaccia crust, and the Ham Dip sandwich. Based on the price of $17.50 for 1 sandwich, I was expecting more than some packaged deli ham on bread. The Arties special didn't smell delicious to put it nicely and the crust was disappointing. Although the place was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, I wouldn't come back as it was expensive and the food sucked. read more

We heard the Red Steer was opened back up so we came to try it out. I used to eat here all the time when I was younger until somebody decided to burn it down. But, this was our first time at Crust and Crumb. My wife had the roast beef dip sandwich and she really liked it. My daughter, who doesn't have the biggest appetite, had the open faced ham sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. Its a big portion of food. She liked it so much she almost ate the entire thing! My son had a personal pizza and it was very good. I had the open faced beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and grazy. Delicious! The only thing I'm missing from the old Red Steer is the horseradish they used to have. My entire family really enjoyed the food and experience and we can't wait to go back. So, I'm forever grateful to Dynamo Donuts (SF) for bringing maple bacon donuts to the table. But, guess what? You don't have to go all the way to SF to get them. Because they are here. And pizza? They do pizza by the slice w 2 or 3 different flavors. The crust was perfection. Best slice in town. What really surprised me was the clam chowder. Served overflowing in a sourdough bowl, this clam chowder was full of clams & potatoes, loaded w flavor, & creamy smooth in consistency. Maybe the best clam chowder bowl this side of SF. Service killed it. Disappointed they had sold out of maple bacon donuts, the very thoughtful employee offered to improvise & add bacon to one of their plain maple donuts. That made my day. The pizza looks delicious, but it's hard for me to come here for anything other than the red steers menu. There is something about their sandwiches and sides that is always comforting and the fact that the meat is always cut to order and super tender is a definite win in my book. You may not be the biggest fan of open face sandwiches, but that's probably because you haven't experienced what this place has to offer. My boyfriend and I went to have lunch here because the reviews were very promising and the food looked delicious. I had a Rueben, which didn't taste anything like a Rueben. The bread was soggy, the pastrami had no flavor, it didn't taste like thousand island dressing and the Swiss was off. My boyfriends burger looked really good, but there is no seasoning on the patty. So we thought, maybe we ordered the wrong menu items based off of pizza reviews. So we decided to order a large combo pizza to go. We got it home, and it's soaked. Somehow the bottom crust was burnt and yet super floppy. It had zero flavor. Idk if we will ever try this place again. read more

We hosted my mother's bridal shower here and it was wonderful. They were very accommodating and allowed us a good amount of time to set up, party, and take down. Upon our arrival to decorate the reserved patio was already set and ready for us. We had predetermined we would do buffet style dining starting with pastries and then going to quiches, sausage, bacon, and salad. Everyone loved everything!
