The chicken quesadilla is my absolute favorite! It was so good! Definitely want to come back!

Stopped in for lunch today with a friend and they still have a long way to go. It may seem like a small thing, but I still feel that they should spend a little more time on establishing some kind of cohesive decor. I chose the Texas roast Beef Melt with Cole Slaw. the sandwich was quite big, with a lot of meat but I didn't really get a lot of cheese. The sandwich had a great taste and the Cole Slaw was quite good. My friend chose the Avocado Toast with a fried egg.. The presentation of the toast consisted of two pieces of toast with a thin scrim of avocado - for some reason, the egg came out later - I think he expected it to be on the toast. Overall, just average, but the menu is extensive. read more

The service was good waitress stayed on top of everything. The food was mid at best nothing I would order again. My fiancé said it wasn't very clean and that it had taken some steps down since her last visit. The decor seemed weird and mismatched. read more

My review is for take-out (DDash) twice this week. I forgot to pack lunch and although where I work I have a restaurant on premise, I wanted something light- and it was after lunch hours. So day one it was the triple decker turkey club with potato salad, a pickle wedge and cole slaw. Really good and they do not skimp on the tasty potato salad. Thursday I ordered the BLT with a small side of mayo, and the potato salad- I LOVE their potato salad- not sure if they make it fresh or it's a brand, but it is reallly good and again-- they do not skimp on that scoop either. I actually had some Frito Scoops in my work snack cabinet (because we all have that cabinet at work) and tried the potato salad with them, excellent!!! So, they are right around from my work and I would definitely be ordering from them a lot more- the omelettes are really good according to my co-workers. Prices are reasonable and the quality is very good. read more

I would avoid this place like the plague. My wife, toddler, and I decided to stop in for a quick and affordable breakfast. Unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite. The staff were friendly, but the service was horrible. The high chair for our toddler was sticky and disgusting. Our table wasn't set, and it took forever for someone to come and check on us. Besides that, the food was subpar. We ordered a muffin and honestly, it tasted moldy. Im supposed to feed my toddler this slop? And here's the best part: we paid a FORTUNE for this small breakfast. NJ diners are supposed to be quick, decent food at affordable prices. With what we spent here we could have bought groceries. We could have gone to a much better place for the same price. For example, The Turning Point, or Toast, or Maeberrie market are all upscale breakfast spots in the area. We would have much rather gone to any of these locations. You pay more because you know the food is going to be great, the service top notch, and least of all-- the ambiance. You pay to eat in a nice location. This sunrise diner is disgusting, and I feel robbed. At the end of the day, if your restaurant can't offer a decent setting to eat in, and the service sucks, and the food is pretty awful, you cannot charge these kinds of prices. We will NEVER go back. Terrible service. Our waitress forgot our drinks and completely messed up our order. I tried to get her attention numerous times, but she completely ignored me. I had to waive down the manager, who just openly yelled and scolded her to get to my table, it was not a pleasant experience. I observed her ignoring other tables and saw other customers grow impatient with the process. The food was nothing special and eventually made me sick. Avoid the chicken salad! When I was trying to pay my bill, it took a while as everyone who was paying had a complaint about their order being wrong or the service being so poor. I waited for about ten minutes in line before realizing I could pay via a QR code on the receipt. For what I received and the awful service, I certainly feel the prices were way too high. Went for breakfast over the weekend. Food was subpar and service was worse. The table and chairs were dirty with clumps of the previous diner's food on the tabletop. Food was missing from the order as was syrup, butter, and jelly. Missing items were not corrected as our server didn't come back until we were nearly finished. One star is one too many. I ordered an omelette. The omelette was not as ordered. The waitress did not return after food was delivered. When she did I told her it was wrong and not good. Disgusting would be a better adjective. I asked for it to be removed from my check. I was told no because it was made as per the menu without my specific request. Ate at this place a year and a half ago and I was not impressed. Ate at this same place this morning and was definitely impressed. Better cooked breakfast, faster and more attentive and pleasant and professional waitresses. Cleaner and well lit dining area. Prices are good to low, and the coffee is stronger and limitless. This was the best diner meal I've had in a long time. I got a Belgian waffle and it was simply delicious. Came with butter and syrup on the side and powdered sugar dusting the plate. Nice and hot. Partner got hash browns and toast. The hash has just the right amount of onion and peppers and was crispy in all the right places. Really good and hot. Waitress was very friendly and quick. The lady who was manning the door got people in and out quickly. Very happy vibe. Only critique is they direly need more vegan options. Other than that, fantastic! read more

This is a cute little dinner nestled away in a remote location. It is extremely small inside and you can tell they are working some logistical Kinks out as expected since they just opened. The food was very delicious. We all got breakfast food and no one left hungry or unsatisfied. The chocolate milk was also exceptional and service was very attentive the entire time. Went today' for the first time. I was hopeful, but based on the mixed reviews I didn't have high expectations. It's in a really strange spot for a diner, which is probably why I've never been there before. I went in with my two kids, and I can honestly say we had a very good experience. Seating was prompt, as was the first contact with our waitress. Menu selection was good, though it excluded Nutella waffles as an option. When asked, the waitress quickly returned with an answer that it was an option, so my daughter was happy. I started to get worried that it was taking too long, based on other reviews, but then all the food arrived. My son had eggs with home fries and bacon, and a side order of fruit. Easy. I had the French toast belly buster, although I didn't want bacon AND sausage. The waitress offered to get extra bacon instead of sausage. Perfect. The waffle was very good, and my daughter ate almost all of it. My son even tried it, and liked it, too. His food was perfectly fine, aside from the bits of green peppers throughout the home fries, but he's picky. The fruit bowl was big and had a good mix of bananas, blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, and red grapes. We all had some since there was so much. My French toast was very good. Challah bread, well soaked. Very custardy result, which I like. Not at all dry. Perfectly cooked. I didn't try their coffee since I had my own, so I can't comment on it. The waitress was perfectly responsive, although she did fail to ask if I needed syrup for my French toast. I got up and asked for it bc I saw her starting to brew a pot of coffee, and she brought it right away. Check came just after we were finished eating, and I paid by scanning the QR code. Easy peasy. I would definitely go again. Next time I'll try lunch or dinner so I can try the burgers and turkey club, two mainstay diner items, in my opinion. Don't be put off but the location, give them a try. I went in with my Husband for lunch and the place was half empty and the waitress was rude from the start... I told waitress I didn't want oregano, onions or green peppers in my salad .. got that wrong had onions all over top ( the oil and vinegar they put on the table had big slime floating in the bottle!!!) I said I'm sorry, I'll just stick with the sandwich ( I ordered a grilled pastrami ( bread NOT GRILLED! no cheese) which comes with fries, slaw or potato salad.. I ordered potato and got Cole Slaw!! I didn't say anything about getting it wrong.. just said it's ok i'll stick with sandwich... a different waitress came to the table and asked what's wrong with salad!?!? she gave me a huge TUDE!! I explained what I didn't want on it and showed her the slime in vinegar bottle and said I'd rather just stick with sandwich and my Husband said my wife also ordered potato salad and got coleslaw.. I told her no worries though.. when the waitress walked away with the bottle, arguing started in the back and we clearly heard the waitress say, "tell her to go FU*^ herself"! and so did everyone else!!!!!! my Husband got up and I followed, my Husband said we clearly heard what you said and that's not right.. A completely different waitress said, "your wife wants to give us a hard time"..the man said,"your wife said no tomato" and I said," no onions".. my Husband said, "the waitress clearly wrote it down wrong"...I told him," I grow and eat tomatoes"..(and I told her 2x, IK i'm picky but tip really well) shouldn't I be allowed to order what I Like!!!??? Everything is basic from the menu to the service. Not very clean with finger prints on everything and lipstick on my cheap worn out plastic cups with chipped edges. The meals were served at different times but presentation was good. It's just good enough. read more

We checked out this diner only 2 minutes from our house. They just opened a few weeks ago before this review. On a Sunday, it was busy. You can tell they are new and really don't have systems in place. They sat a table of 5 then a table of 8 mentioned they were skipped. The manager told the table Of 5 about to sit to allow the table of 8 to sit. I never seen that before. You don't move a table you sat and make then wait again. They would benefit from using a system like yelp for managing their waitlist. We sat at the counter. The waitress we had was great and very understanding of the chaos. We ate the porkies Omelette; contained bacon, pork roll, peppers, and onions. The plate is very big so that's a plus. The food was average nothing that stood out but nothing terrible. The coffee was actually my favorite part of my experience. I will give this place another try in about a month, so they work out the issues. If the experience is the same, then there are other diners in the area that are much better and have everything together. read more

This is a new diner in Jackson. Formerly Papu's Place. Nice place. Service was good. Coffee and tea right away. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs potatoes and toast. Came out hot and eggs perfect. American cheese omelette and potatoes were also ordered. Omelette was made perfectly. Not overcooked it was perfect. Potatoes were crunchy on the outside and soft underneath. Excellent. Went to Sunrise Diner today. I had the BLT with fries, pickle and cold slaw. Not overstuffed with lettuce, properly prepared fries not greasy, good pickle and slaw. My wife had the tuna salad which was very good, it was chuck white tuna and not the dark one. Will be going back. As for William M review, I don't believe it. Notice no mention of what was ordered no other comments. Probably a troll review or competitor. In closing, I highly recommend Sunrise diner for breakfast or lunch. Very clean. read more

I had recently moved to the area and was looking at breakfast places to eat in the area. Came across this diner one day when visiting another location nearby. Tried this place 3 times and the last was final for me. When you walk in there are always 2-3 waitresses that are sitting at the counter and are either on their phones or stuffing their face. The look on their faces reads I rather be anywhere but here! There is mumbled greeting and then you are taken to your table. I try to be positive and go with the flow but it is honestly a downer to be vaguely greeted first thing in the morning. I normally go for breakfast so this review is based on that. We are served coffee upon arrival and our orders are taken rather quickly. Food is always decent except for one time where my breakfast potatoes were soggy and drenched in oil. Once the food is delivered the waitress disappears. Forget about trying to get a 2nd cup of coffee, you will be done with your meal by the time they come out from the back from doing whatever they are doing, to check on you! I would go back for the food because it really is decent but the service is horrible, no way I would want to spend another dime or time here. Also, you would think in this day and age, businesses would be grateful to their customers since they do have the option to go elsewhere but that is not the case here. They should go out of their way for whomever walks in through the door because as quickly as the neighborhood is changing, I would be surprised if their doors are still open another year or so!! read more

Weekdays would be a hungry mess without finding the Sunrise Diner. The high ceilings provide a sense of space that is further Complemented by the spirit of the staff. Greasy Spoon is an inaccurate depiction for this location. All breakfast items are prepared with Delicacy. A family operated openness leads way to a hardy Menu. The only criticism would not reflect the business, it appears as the elevation of the building is opposite of traffic. In hindsight, the hidden location may help the locals, however a killer breakfast platter could make me take a bunch of U-Turns. read more

What a great find! Maybe be difficult to find as the little strip mall that it's located in doesn't face County Line Road so keep you eye out for the UPS store. The place is clean, has a homey decor, and it's run by a nice family. Two of the waitresses are sisters, and both are nice and friendly. The menu offers breakfast and lunch, with very reasonable prices. The food is all homemade and delicious. Been there many times and never had a bad meal or bad service.... I've taken many people here, and they also think it's great. The Sunrise Diner is a great asset to Jackson.....give it a try! read more

Wow, I expected it to be better. My order was initially incorrect, but they fixed it, no problem. Our waitress never came to check to see if we needed more coffee. She, even brought the check without asking if we needed anything else. The prices, 'eh, a bit higher (10%) than was was on the outdated menu on their website. But the kicker - I got charged an additional %3.95 fee for using my credit card. C'mon, you're gonna pass the cost of doing business on to the customer twice? Service was awful , our waitress got our Order all wrong and was not at all apologetic. She never came round to ask if we wanted refills on our coffee or to see if we needed anything. We love this place. The harsh reviews seem overboard. These are customers that I wouldn't want at my establishment anyways. Sometimes you have to weed them out and ask them not to come back, itsjust the nature of the industry. We haven't had a bad meal, a mixup or mistake once from service or the kitchen and we've been here 20 times or more. Zero Stars! Poor waitress service is one thing... but attempted physical assault is another! A frequent customer at Sunrise, I went this morning hoping for a peaceful breakfast. At arrival there was a waiting line and I was about the third next after waiting 10 minutes. No complaints so far. But next this waitress began seating people behind me in line. I waited two more turns then asked her why I wasn't being seated. She sarcastically replied she wasn't seating just me at a table capable of holding 4 customers! After another 10 minutes a two-seater came up and I was seated. But immediately next I saw her seat the next single person in line and at a 4 customer table! I called her over for an explanation and she was rude towards me. She walked away and I saw her hand signal the only other waitress for her not to serve me either. As a regular I knew the owner and left my table to go see him. He said he has no such limiting policy for single patrons. She was now listening but the boss (likely her father) gave her wrong for her mistreatment. She stormed away and in trying to pass by she "body-slammed" me. Witnesses said she did bump into me. But only I know the actual force she used and the look in her eyes. I believe she "assaulted" me. At that point I left Sunrise and visited with Law Enforcement wanting to file a complaint. My wife and I usually go to The Mug Rack in Jackson when we want to go to a diner. Today we decided to have lunch at The Sunrise Diner. That was a mistake. The service at the Sunrise Diner was slow. First visit to Sunrise diner for a 10am breakfast on a busy Saturday. The place was buzzing for a new business, which is great. The sunrise is not the typical jersey diner feel and definitely hidden from the street in the backside of a strip mall. There was a 20 min wait as we walked through the door however we were seated in about 10 mins. The wait staff is friendly but inexperienced that reflected in some of the service. They are still working through startup issues. So we had a mix of breakfast and lunch which is available all day. The menu is straight up diner.. nothing crazy, nothing you will be dying to try. Targeting a market that may not want to try Huevos rancheros and green chillis. :) that's ok , because it hit the goal of a good breakfast. Onto the food! I had the belly busters. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 pancakes served with home fries and toast. A lot of food for $10.50. My wife had a turkey club with fries that also filled the plate. There was a mathematical mystery of how the turkey club only had 3/4's which made for interesting table conversations. Lol. The food took longer than expected to be delivered our waitress checked in regularly for drink refills. They use food runners to deliver which break some rules of food handling. Don't stack plates on food, your thumb should never touch what I am eating ( at least when I can see it). This will definitely get better as the staff is better trained. ( is this where the 1/4 turkey club went?). The food was great everything was prepared well, delivered hot and good quality. The fries were outstanding (4 stars) it took a while to get a check delivered but after flagging someone down we were on our way. All in all, worth a visit! We'll definitely be repeat customers. After a first time experience I'm absolutely disgusted in this place and their horrible customer service overall. I was visiting friends and family from out of state and it was my first time their to try them out because my best friends mom recommended the place. After finding hair in her chicken club sandwich and bringing this to their attention, they tried to act like it was her fault and not theirs and weren't planning on doing anything about it. We then mentioned it to someone before checking out thinking this would have been fully deducted due to the horrible food experience and all they offered to do was deduct half off the bill for the full $10 meal. The whole order for her was only $10! Really!? You can't lose $10, instead you rather lose a customer for life and all of her referrals moving forward? They come there weekly too, just a very sad situation! Asked to speak to a mgr too and was told we don't have one. Umm ok! What kind of business doesn't have a mgr to speak to about higher escalated issues like this? I think they could have taken a $10 loss and moved on with their day! Disgraceful! Anyone else would have offered a full refund and apologized for the poor experience, instead they fought with the regular clientele and argued with us about it. I would stay far away from this place If thinking of ever trying it out. God speed! read more
