Well, it's not the worst bagel I've ever had. But it is the second worst. And I have lots of bagels. However the service was far and away the worst I've ever had. It took 30 minutes to get 6 bagels and a waffle. And the 3 people who ordered after us all and I mean ALL got their food a full 10 min before us. All the whole the AC is out. It 85 degrees outside. I fricken love this place. Just get the bagels. You can wrap them in tin foil, freeze them, and then put them in a toaster or oven later to heat them up again. I love all of their flavors, but the whole wheat everything is my fav. Recent change in ownership, but they seem to have kept the same recipes. I absolutely love trying new places for breakfast and this little gem fit the bill. Mini-Me and I didn't want diner food or o go to iHop, we both wanted something different but easy on our wallets. Mini-Me wanted chicken and waffles, I am thinking whatttt? we are not in LA Cali anymore Missy (cuz ya kno' Roscoe's is the BE ALL END ALL). But this Rosko's small parking lot was packed! this place was hoppin' and business was brisk! from call in ahead orders- walk in take out- to orders for eating in. I was impressed, for such a small joint to have such a expanded menu but specific on dishes, something for everyone and reasonable on the wallet, I was in. The girls behind the counter were hustling the orders, smiling, helping new customers decide and the coffee brewed was so delicious, not sure if it because it was cold out, so early in the morning or just a great blend, but it was well appreciated. We also ordered the strawberry waffle with fresh bananas as well as blueberry waffles, fluffy, hot, crisp outside but so soft and perfect inside, just a little maple syrup to compliment the dishes, each was a bite of hearty happy goodness. Now, it is is Roscoe's LA Cali? no, it isn't and anyplace outside of the Manchester Blvd location would be a recipe hard pressed to impress. But does this breakfast/lunch spot give me the opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast with my Mini-Me to chat it up, laugh, and just enjoy the beginning of beautiful new day, yes it does and that's all that really matters, right? right! good food, tasty dishes a staff of employees that care, I really will be back for more breakfasts and of course chicken and waffles that fit the bill when you want something different. I just turned in my stamp card for a free hot sandwich so it's about time I write this. My fiancé and I have been ordering from here if not every week then every other week. (And all I turned in was one card?? Lol. I'm new in town and we didn't know about the card until a month ago.) My guy is simple. Anything with bacon. One of his favorites is The Belly Buster on a plain bagel. I, on the other hand, have been hooked on the ham and cheddar in a spinach wrap with lettuce, onions, tomatoes and mayo with a side of coleslaw. I'd eat half a wrap for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Service has been excellent, especially the back-of-the-house team. I, unfortunately, had to witness a mom chew out one of the guys in back over her bagel not being toasted. It's Mother's Day and you're going to embarrass your husband and daughter by throwing a tantrum over an untoasted bagel? I'm sorry you're that miserable. The guy even came out to apologize. I really dislike leaving bad reviews so this one won't be terrible. I'll start on a positive note; I really enjoy the food very much. Everything I've ever had was as expected and their breakfast potatoes are actually my favorite of anywhere around. That being said, I have NEVER received the correct order when I called ahead for pickup. Something is always missing or wrong altogether and that's why I can't give a higher rating. I'm not the person to call and complain or ask for new food so I always just eat my meal in disappointment lol. If you are going to order ahead I recommend checking your food before you leave. I'll give them a shot again in the near future and will do an updated review. Again, the food is great. Just make sure you get what you asked for. read more

2 stars for the benefit of the doubt and the sentiment , but it really deserves lower. I've been living in Jackson for a long time now. This place is slowly getting worse and worse. It use to have seasonal painted murals on the windows, full menus, and fast service. Food was hot, and everything that I ever called-in to order was made on time when I arrive at the establishment. It was great! My family and I always had our weekend bagels from here! However, as of late (I'd say the past 6-7 months) I've noticed the place is becoming barren? The vibe is different. No more murals, posters gone from the walls, things crossed off the menu, and the food takes forever. Now, if I want good food, I'll wait 5-15minutes. No problem. Yet, past three or four times I've been there, I'm waiting forever for my food, and it's cold. Or waiting too long for something as simple as a bagel with cream cheese. Food less than $5 shouldn't take 15minutes. The final straw was my bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel was cold, and I waited 20 minutes. And that sad bagel was $7.25?! I don't go here anymore. It's sad too, because I had some friends that work here. I miss the old Rosko's! read more

Came in for a late breakfast. Excellent avocado scrambler ( 10/10 will order again, did not expect it to be so good) and strawberry cream cheese on a blueberry bagel. My husband said his plain bagel and cream cheese were also great. They were pretty busy but got us our food in a timely manner. The staff is younger and really nice and the manager was very appreciative of them dealing with a difficult customer while we were here which was good to see. Had to reorder and the cook forgot to made it owner had to ask again. Moved to Howell 30 years ago from Brooklyn. It's almost impossible to get a bad bagel there. The only time I can get a good bagel out here (major difference) is when I bring the back from my commute. Bagels shouldn't soggy. There should be a slight crunch on the outside and soft but not doughy on the inside. Most places here actually run out of bagels at 10:00am. Today I told myself there must be somewhere else. I was going to try BE then decided to go further. I found the promised bagel was hidden in a little hole in the wall. Finally a bagel as good as a Brooklyn bagel. I ordered 1 dozen assorted with a tub of their cream cheese. I started with a rye/pumpernickel marble. My co-worker and I discovered this place through Groupon. We wanted to find something new to hit up for breakfast since our commute to work is from Franklin Park/Monmouth Junction to Lakewood. Rosko's came up around our way. We were very impressed with the customer service. They were nice and very helpful with their suggestions for us first time customers. The food may take time to prepare, but it was worth the wait for its delicious and freshly made waffles. My co-worker had the chocolate chip waffles and some sandwich I forgot. I was in the mood for some Chicken and Waffles for a very long time so I ordered the Waffelicious with Egg, Chicken, and Cheese. It was 4th of July in my mouth with the sweetness of maple syrup on the side, the soft and delicious waffle, and the saltiness of the breaded chicken and eggs. It was definitely worth it that I had it twice out of three visits. Other than our orders, I was mesmerized from the array of unique flavored bagels and cream cheese. So the third visit, I had the bacon and jalapeño on an everything bagel. I was expecting a little more flavor out of the jalapeño cream cheese, but it was still delicious. read more

I was having probably one of the worst days possible. My puppy accidentally ate my older dogs medicine so we had to bring her to the hospital. After leaving I hadn't eatin yet and was heavily craving pancakes and the only place near my house on the way home that wasnt closed and had them was Roskos. I placed the order on doordash which said they were still open. When i got there they had already closed which sucked but I get it covid hrs mess everything up and im sure it didnt register on doordash. I just wanted to know how to get my money back and im sure i sounded frustrated and exhausted which wasnt super pleasant to deal with but the Manager was absolutely so sweet and so apologetic. He gave me a gift card and even tho I didnt get my food I left happy. I appreciate above and beyond customer service and Roskos gives that. I will always come back here because of it. read more

Lady at the counter not so friendly, she had the kind of attitude like she didn't feel like being at work that day. The best thing I had here was the Smoke Salmon, really good and really fresh. I really cannot say enough good things about Rosco's. I really believe that the secret to having a successful business is having staff that treat customers with respect and love the way you would your family. Rosco's does just that. I have been in here before with my special needs son, and the nice older woman that works there has always made him feel like a king. She has even gone so far as to give him a free mini bagel with a warm heart and a smile. On my daughter's birthday, Kim from Rosco's delivered a birthday basket on a SUNDAY morning at 7am on SAINT PATTIES DAY to our home, which was absolutely beautifully done, and included a birthday card as well as some samples of their specialty cream cheese. The location itself is small, and unfortunately, it has one of the worst parking lots in town, but the friendly staff and incredible food make up for it over and over. You will never have a skimpy portion, and you will always leave there fully satisfied and happy! This is a really wonderful local business that I hope lasts a good, long while in town! read more

I have been here many times The bagels are the best I like everything bagels and they load them with everything topping. I have not tried any breakfast items it is usually packed and I just pick up bagels to go. The interior is always improving they are making money and putting it back in the business which is a great sign.
