I needed a caregiver for my grandma due to several reasons: transportation to doctor's appointment on weekdays, to help her with whatever she needed when I or my mom wasn't around, and to alleviate some stress from my mom. I was hesitant at first as I was reluctant to trust a stranger to help my grandma who I truly care for. However, I needed someone to be there when I or my mom wasn't present so I decided to give it a try. I initially called many different agencies and decided to go with Senior Helpers due to their professionalism, care, and being honest. John, the owner of Senior Helpers, scheduled an in-home assessment and asked thorough questions regarding the condition of my grandma and what her needs were. After going through the assessment, I was pleasantly surprised with the process. We connected on a personal level too as he told me a little bit about his mother. You can see how genuine he was towards me, my mom, and my grandma. He followed up with me after the assessment and after some deep thinking,I decided to go with Senior Helpers. John made the process easy and fast for me. He designated a caregiver right away for my grandma with a set schedule that we agreed upon. Caregiver was always prompt on time and updated me with everything that I asked for. John, followed up with me separately to ensure my mom, grandma, and I were satisfied with their service. Initially, I was reluctant to give this a try, but I'm extremely happy that I did as my grandma was able to connect with her caregiver on a personal level and also got to trust the caregiver. I am thankful and grateful to have found an agency that truly cares for my family rather than just having the mindset of getting clients. I am beyond satisfied with their services so far. They address issues right away, and the facility is very clean -- there's no lingering smell of urine anywhere. The therapy is effective, and residents learn skills that help them become safely independent for discharge. The administrators and social workers are very caring people who are extremely competent in their work. They give direct answers, and the facility communicates well overall.
