Casado w/ Rib Eye Steak ($17)

I had the casado con steak ($17) which was served with rice, black beans, salad, plantains, and an egg cooked to my liking (I opted for overeasy). I also got coffee ($2.75) and water to drink (they don't serve tap water, only bottled water which was $1.50). The steak and maduros (plantains) were cooked well, but I think the flavor was pretty lacking overall. We asked for hot sauce, but it didn't really add much flavor or heat to the dish so it was pretty bland. They have a very reasonably priced menu with a large variety of options ranging from traditional American breakfast to full-on Mexican food platters. The ambiance was very casual. Think tiny diner but Mexican-themed. Our server was very efficient and got our orders right, but she didn't come to check on us during our meal until we called her over for the check so it wasn't anything special. I'll still come back and try something else on their menu since it's a very budget friendly option in the heart of Downtown Somerville, but I do hope it's more flavorful next time around.

Unfortunately disappointing. Most restaurants on Main Street in Somerville are wonderful, and it is sad to see when one falls short of those high standards. Even for a luncheon, Sunrise fell short of just average. The restaurant itself smells and feels greasy, but this can most likely be attributed to the small size of the restaurant. The servers were not necessarily rude, just inattentive. They seemed to only check in on our table when they felt like it was convenient to them. Otherwise, they were chatting or watching tv at their leisure. The food took a while to get to us, and the quality did not earn any bonus points when it arrived. The ingredients seemed old and the food was nothing extraordinary. There is no real need to pack leftovers when you finish. The two major upsides of the restaurant is unique decor and homey atmosphere.

Nice enough diner directly across from the courthouse. Decor is dated but acceptable. Still using an old TV - no flat-screens here. Run by Latins so they have several Latin American specialties on the menu along with the usual American choices. I stopped in for breakfast and ordered my usual corned beef hash and eggs, toast, hash browns, coffee. All good. Toast was even hot which is often not the case these days. Came to just under $8.00 before the tip. Prices are reasonable - a cheeseburger is $4.25 on the take-out menu. Nothing is over $10.00. I will post a pix of the menu.

It has expanded and taken up a bit more space over the years, and the expansion is well-deserved. Featuring a Pura Vida Costa Rican flare you have a number of options available for both breakfast and lunch. I've tried quite a bit of the menu, but they are known for their tried and true empanadas. They have about half a dozen varieties and I end up getting at least one of each every time I visit. They're hot, big, flavorful, and the shell is a perfect consistency. The waitstaff is some of the friendliest around. The outdoor seating is also quite nice in the summertime alongside the pedestrian street. In terms of the menu, it's hard to say there is a standout, because I get something different each time, and I have yet to go wrong. Everything here is absolutely excellent, and I look forward to each return visit to come.

I walked in and two super nice young ladies were making and serving the food. I appreciated that I was greeted right away and my order taken right away. If Yelp had star options for both the food and the service, I definitely would have given them 4 or 5 stars. I almost always go completely overboard when I try a place the first time. I picked up almost $80 worth of takeout so that I could try a little bit of everything. I really, really wanted to love the food here but I didn't. Unfortunately I didn't really find anything that I ordered that flavorful. The food wasn't bad by any means, it just didn't have the delicious flavors that I normally associate with great Puerto Rican food. As I mentioned it was an unbelievably hot day so maybe the cook was having an off day because of that. If I'm ever driving by there, I'd probably give it another chance since it has such great reviews from other people.

So upon doing my research I came across this restaurant. Now of course upon reading reviews everyone said to get there early because the line can get long especially on a Saturday and Sunday morning. So we arrived around 8:30 on Saturday and we were seated right away because it was only two of us . The service was excellent we were seated right away . Our waiter came out and gave us the rundown of the menu . They had a promo menu because of the Devil Wears Prada movie . I did get a specialty non alcoholic drink from the menu which was excellent. We ordered the French toast and the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and it came with smoked salmon on sourdough bread . The French toast was so good and moist you didn't even need to add additional syrup . The food was delicious and the portion sizes are perfect . The restaurant is cozy so if you have a big party make reservations. But you won't be disappointed I can't wait to visit Brunch by De Martino again whenever I come back to New Jersey . Please check them out you won't regret it .

My family and I have been supporting the Martino's Cuban Restaurant family restaurants for years,…read moregoing back to the original Martino's from his dad's side (which we truly miss). So coming here carries a bit of nostalgia for us. This concept feels very different from the original. It's definitely a more modern, upscale take. Portions are smaller, prices are higher, and the menu feels more elevated with a mix of Cuban-inspired and American flavors rather than strictly traditional Cuban comfort food. That said, the food is genuinely very good. The Cuban sandwich was easily one of the best we've had in New Jersey. Unlike many places that mostly use ham with a thin layer of pork, this one had thick, flavorful pieces of pork that made it feel much more authentic. A few other favorites: - The tostones with guacamole were a great starter. - Their chocolate latte used to be one of our favorites (sadly it seems to have been replaced by a raspberry chocolate version, which wasn't for us). - The seasonal pumpkin iced latte was excellent. - The strawberry banana waffles were more than enough to share. - The scrambled eggs and thick-cut bacon were fresh and delicious. We spent about $140 for breakfast for a family of four, so it's definitely on the pricier side, but it felt fitting for a special occasion like Mother's Day. A heads-up: reservations are only accepted for parties of six or more, so smaller groups are first come, first served. On Mother's Day, we waited about an hour after arriving at 8:30 AM, but their digital waitlist system made it easy to track our place in line while running errands nearby. Do we miss the old Martino's? Absolutely. The larger portions and casual family feel were special to us. But this restaurant offers something different--more polished, more curated, and still very enjoyable. I'd recommend it for brunch dates, family celebrations, or when you want to treat yourself.

The Cuban quesadilla was hearty and satisfying with good melty cheese, with a nice touch from the fillings. Ambience is casual but lively, perfect for hanging with friends or a relaxed dinner.
