Stopped by for a bite to eat on our way to a concert in Philadelphia. The place was immaculate, friendly, with the fresh smell of freshly ground coffee beans in the air. We were quickly seated by the owner (I think), and the waiter was quick and attentive. The temperature was perfect, especially considering the horribly hot Northeast summer of 2025. As for the food, first I have to say that the prices were absolutely fantastic for the quality and taste we experienced. Especially considering the current economy and constant price hikes of 2024-25. So I ordered the Greek Salad Wrap and my partner got the Time to Eat Special with a Greek Salad and Fries. Everything was delicious! Fries - perfectly cooked diner fries with a side of home made honey mustard - fantastic! Greek Chicken Wrap - beautifully marinated with really good tzatziki. I actually got 2 extra cups of it to dip my wrap in. In short, we would both come back again when in the area. And the total was about $45 after tax and tip! Unreal in all the best ways! read more

I returned here for yet another meal and I once again went with a salad. The salad I chose this time around was the chopped cobb. I also had another chicken noodle soup, which was very good like my previous review. The cobb salad had romaine, bacon, avocado, hardboiled egg, tomato, red onion, grilled chicken, and bleu cheese dressing. This was a traditional cobb salad done right. The bleu cheese dressing looked a little odd but tasted okay so not a concern like I thought initially possibly. The salad as a whole appeared fresh and there was plenty of all the ingredients which I always find to be key. It was also a decent size portion like my previous ones ordered. read more

Great service at this classic central NJ Diner. Cream of turkey soup, excellent, good amount of veggies, and just enough turkey. I had a chicken cheesesteak wrap, full of chicken, well cooked peppers and onions, good amount of cheese which held everything together. Fries were crisp, would have preferred a little more color, bit more salt. Part of the menu has Polish specialties. Wife had the stuffed cabbage which was evenly stuffed, good seasoning on the beef. We went twice while visiting NJ for a family wedding. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. This is a true NJ diner (per our family who are from NJ) with a book sized menu to prove it. They have everything you can possibly want at a diner. We had a Fat Jim sandwich (Fat Cat sandwiches are an NJ staple), there was a lot going on in there but it was okay enough. I had the Happy Waitress which was basically an open faced grilled cheese with tomato and bacon. It was good. Not so good for leftovers. The fries were yummy! For breakfast, I shared the corn beef hash extra crispy as a side with my uncle. It was OK, but not the best I've had. The is a great dinner for breakfast or lunch whenever I'm in the area. The breakfast is typical diner choices but really delicious. The lunch options are also great and I usually add a soup. The service is super quick without issue. I highly recommend any wrap or sandwich even though I usually get a salad, don't be miserable like me. Get fries - you deserve them! read more

We had a good meal at Time to Eat Diner the other night. It has been awhile since I had been there. My sister was flying back to NC and we needed a quick bite to eat before we dropped her off at the airport. First we were sat in the dining room by a very noisy group of kids and their parents and probably grandparents. My adult nephew who was with us can't stand noise and often times wears ear plugs when he is out and I knew the is table was not going to work. We asked to move to another tank and we were sat on the completely other side of the room. I kind of felt bad because our original server wasn't the one that was going to serve us now. Our new server came to us quickly and took our orders. I ordered the Lam burger deluxe, and since I did not want my fries, I gave them to my nephew who ordered a burger of his own. My sister ordered the buffalo chicken salad, my boyfriend ordered the Chef's salad, and my dad had the apple pancakes. We all enjoyed our meals and everything was served in a timely manner. They don't have many places like a Jersey diner in North Carolina, so my nephew was completely mesmerized by the menu. When they come back in town again, he definitely wants to come back. read more

I only had breakfast which is in my opinion the most difficult to mess up and well they did not. I enjoyed it. Eggs, waffles, bacon, Taylor ham, sausage, home fries, cut fruit, etc. all it good. I was staying at a hotel, and saw this place on DoorDash. Perusing the menu, I saw something interesting. A mashed potato omelette. Hey, New Jersey diners sometimes have interesting items on their menu, so why not? The omelette came with cheese and bacon, and I paid extra for onions. I also had grits and toast on the side. The food came, and it was barely warm. Fortunately, my hotel room had a microwave. The omelette itself was good. There was a good amount of cheese and bacon, and the mashed potatoes actually played very well with the omelette. Everything together made for a very good omelette. If there were onions in there, however, I couldn't taste them. A shame, because again, I did pay extra for them. The grits were also good. The 2 big problems I had, was first of all, nothing extra came with the food. No napkins, silverware, no salt or pepper, no butter for the grits, no jelly for the toast, nothing. I had to get all of that from my hotel. The other problem I had, was that the toast was overdone, to the point of almost being burnt . I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. If I were at the restaurant, I would've sent it back. Ordering delivery, that was not an option. Again, the omelette was very successful. Just dined here a few days ago- our food was delicious. The turkey club was packed with homemade turkey , and had fresh tomatoes, bacon and dark green lettuce on fresh rye toast. The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection- well done but juicy- excellent quality meat with a great char broiled flavor. Even the roll was wonderful- fresh and soft. Enjoyed my diet pepsi also. The only item I didnt care for was the fries- kinda plain tasting. Service was attentive and food came promptly, despite the restaurant being filled. Definitely a repeater for me. read more

I live very close to this diner and wish it could be my go to, but I've never had a good experience. I truly don't understand how the parking lot is always packed, this restaurant can't even do the simple things correctly. First visit when I just moved to the neighborhood, breakfast how could we go wrong? We both ordered the unsweetened iced tea that tasted like soap. Neither one of us could finish our glass. I ordered an omelette. My husband ordered a burger. while we're waiting for our food we witnessed a person cleaning the kitchen ceiling with a broom. Maybe he was trying to catch a bug or something else was going on, but it definitely looked sus because food was being prepped. I can't say that anything got in the food, but it was not a pleasant sight. Second experience was DoorDash delivery . I ordered a burger. The bun tasted a bit stale. The burger was a below average diner burger. My husband ordered a big salad that was supposed to come with chicken, which they forgot. I wish I could say the Bridgewater diner was a better option but that place is almost as bad. I'll save that for another review. read more

Now I live 5 minutes away and consider TTE to be my home base Jersey Diner. TTE is a classic styled Jerzy diner. A must try on your top diners list. Service is always great. Top Score on asking for coffee refills, they set the standard. The food is classic diner but ruch flavors and high quality. I apologize for not having a picture. My breakfast didn't last very long. I'll update with pics next time. Sunday's after church there is always a line. I enjoy the fare, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening coffee & pie. I was visiting some friends and they took me to the Time to Eat diner. First off, the variety of offerings was huge. I saw the Hungarian Goulash and went for it with a bowl of Matzoh ball soup. Both were delish. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was prepared perfectly. Everybody was happy. The portions were large and the dessert was a hot brownie with Ice cream. Yum. I will start by saying the attention and service was actually fantastic, our waitress was very kind and speedy. However, the food left much to be desired and we didn't order anything complicated. We ordered the breakfast combo that came with sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs, toast and hashbrowns. The only thing that seemed to be worth it was the sausage. The eggs were soggy, pancakes were dry, hashbrowns were soggy and completely bland. Upon paying at the front we didn't receive the same type of friendly demeanor we had experienced with our waitress. While the environment was emblematic of a classic Diner, the allure that usually accompanies was not present. Based solely off the food quality and transparency of the order placed through DoorDash, nothing to do regarding temperature based on a 10 minute delivery. Having moved from New York, when I see a chrome diner, I not only expect good comfort food, but I expect 24 hours a day. Neither were true in the case of this place. Ordered a hot open faced turkey sandwich, which comes with soup/salad, potato, and veggie. Was clear in the order notes - chicken soup, baked potato w/SC and butter, no veg, and confirmed on the DoorDash receipt and ticket to the kitchen included in the bag. Unpacked the bag upon delivery - soup was gummy, almost like noodles had melted / dissolved into the broth to create an unpleasant gelatinous blob. Open faced turkey was a bit dry, skimpy on the turkey, drowning in gravy that couldn't save it. Was given mashed potatoes instead of the baked, and veg came despite requesting none. Sweaty, unpleasant smelling cauliflower, basically a frozen blend of questionable quality and age that had probably been sitting on a steam tray for eons. Nothing had flavor, despite gallons of gravy trying to save it. Will not be ordering from here again - Hillsborough star diner is leaps and bounds ahead of this nightmare. read more

TERRIBLE customer service! We sent back the toast, which was bread with butter and when the waitress brought it back, it was not only burnt black, but the waitress threw it on the table. After speaking with the manager, thought it would be resolved, but the third order came back almost worst then the first. How do you screw up breakfast? Absolutely awful customer service by the waitress and the manager. My wife and I visited the diner to celebrate my anniversary as a USN veteran. Horrible mistake! I travel throughout the U.S. and rarely experience terrible customer service but this place was sickening. The waitress physically dropped the plate on the table and walked away. I don't know how the plate didn't break. The meal was disgustingly burned, however, I guess they did not like to be questioned or want to send it back. The attitude sported by the waitress was displayed only stronger the 2nd time she stopped by our table. The manager offered to comp a meal as clearly heard by my wife and I. The receipt did not reflect the comp. I asked the manager and she denied any such claim or conversation that occurred. Shocking! We were in town visiting family and SO was looking forward to a proper NJ diner breakfast since this is where he grew up. Unfortunately breakfast was disappointing. Both the hashbrowns and home fries were surprisingly bland. I don't think my home fries were undercooked or anything, just severely underseasoned, but SO's hashbrowns were pale and almost soggy. The omelettes were okay, but nothing overall stood out and it was a disappointing first meal after our redeye flight. Our waitress was very nice though and service was prompt and friendly, but we will probably visit other diners for breakfast next time we're back. read more

I was very disappointed got a take out order from Time to eat and the open steak sandwich was suppose to come with onion rings when I got home it was missing the onion rings. Called and told them rudely said well do you want to come back for them I said yes. All they gave me was 2 tiny onion rings. meanwhile my food got cold and had to use extra gas to get there. Disappointing as a diner in NJ. Booths were dirty and full of crumbs. All the food was extremely mediocre. Pancakes were dry and eggs were cold and runny. Bacon was underdone and cold. The French toast was flavorless. Worst of all we found plastic inside the sausage which broke off while eating, very unsafe. The only decent thing was the coffee, but it wasn't enough to make me want to return. Not sure how this place remains busy. read more

I came here on Sunday morning at 8 PM with a friend. Not too crowded but it filled up by the time we left. They started us off with some of the best coffee I've had in awhile. I think we both had about six cups. Our server was excellent and fun to chat with. She was very accommodating. In fact, she gave us some coffee to go at no cost! We both had the same meal which was eggs over easy, pork sausage and potatoes. Apparently they have several types of sausage so you'll need to specify what you want. The potatoes offered were hash brown (shredded) home fries (sliced) or French fries. I had the hash browns. They don't have onions in them but our waitress had them added after I asked. I expected a bunch of sautéed onions on the side but they were fully incorporated into the potatoes. Yum!! The eggs over easy were cooked perfectly without having any loose egg white. We both ordered toasted rye bread which was nice quality. Overall, our meal was pretty much perfect between the food, service, and ambiance!! read more

First time here. And at 10am it is really crowded. Caught a at the door parking spot as someone was pulling out. The menu remind me of Cheesecake factory. Got so much goodies to chose from. So today I decided on THE EVERYTHING SAMPLER. French toast, 3 eggs over easy,(Love the yoke spilling out when I eat it), ham,sausage, bacon and hash browns. Yup a little of everything. I have to go 5 stars on this visit. Everything was good. Really good. Proportional and tasty. Yoke perfectly running when I break it. Couldn't eat it all. Really good. I can see why this place stays crowded now. The staff really hustles in here. So I had to tip good. Hustle and give personal active attention while staying friendly. Great service. Funny note. I definitely do not think this place is short staffed. From time of order it may have taken 4-6 mins for my food to come out. So they are shaking and grilling on the spot. Time to Eat Diner is like your typical diner! We were seated pretty quickly despite being busy. I ordered the plain Belgian waffle and honestly the waffle tasted bland :( Felt like something was missing inside it and ended up eating only half of it. Brother got the chicken fajita panini and of course I tried it. The chicken itself was well cooked and together with the peppers and cheese, the panini tasted good! My mom ordered the vegetable panini which mentioned grilled vegetables, zucchini, and eggplant in the menu. She didn't want the eggplant so she asked to leave it out but when we got the dish, it was only cheese and zucchini! When we asked why the grilled vegetables weren't included (despite it being a vegetable panini), the waitress said they don't put it in the panini, so my question is why include grilled vegetables in the menu in the first place?! However, she understood the point we were making and replaced my mom's dish with another one we wanted, which was the vegetable quesadilla. Tasted sooo good, completely satisfied! Also, have to add the way they served it was substandard. The vegetable panini had basically all the zucchini coming out of the bread and same can be said for the chicken panini with the cheese and pepper oozing out.
