Got a call from the office at 10:15 that Blake was running late and now my window was 1-5. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised to get a text at 11:33 that he was on the way complete with his photo. So I put the dogs up and waited for his arrival, and got distracted by work emails ... when he wasn't here by 2:30 I phoned and was told my window was now 4-6pm. Then another text at 2:55 that he was on the way. When he showed up he told me he was new and didn't know how the text got sent but it wasn't his fault. He attempted to hand tighten a loose pipe/connector and announced he was done, so I turned the water on and shook the pipe with very little force and it popped back open. He kept repeating he was a licensed plumber and he was furious that I was 'rough on the pipe' and made it come loose. He said he wasn't charging me and was leaving-- so after waiting a week for this appointment I'm off to call a recommended company. I called NTXPlumbing and told their employee about the issue, and he said it didn't sound like a "repair issue" because the unit was still working, but that someone would get back to me. I waited a few weeks, and then sent a follow up email. I received a response that evening from Mai that said: "Thank you for sending this email. We will review and get back to you as soon as possible. " I'm not sure what they are reviewing, but it's been another week with no contact from them. I'm guessing they are just hoping that if they ignore their customer, that maybe the problem will go away. I'd recommend finding another company who won't ghost you when their's a quality issue with their install. For what it's worth, the Navien tankless unit has been great.

My wife called back and talked with someone who said they would contact the driver and have the driver call my wife. By 10pm, nobody had called my wife. I called and talked to someone in their 24-hour call center and was told that they got a manager involved and the manager would research the issue and call my wife back. My wife needed to leave my mother-in-law's house today and head back home for appointments all next week. This debacle has cost them travel time and they may be having to cancel doctor appointments over this. This is unacceptable business practices, and I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. ** EDIT - They called the very next morning, apologized and sent someone out immediately. Mother Modern Plumbing will be the only plumbing service that I'll ever call again. I had been dealing with a shower and washing machine drain stoppage for a while. All other drains were fine and nothing I tried was working to clear the blocked shower and washer drain. This experience with Mother Modern Plumbing was as perfect as it gets. The first thing I noticed when I called was a quality of true kindness.. Gabby took that call and she was great. Even with my complicated schedule this week (medical appointments) she managed to work me into their schedule. She was absolutely excellent. And each of their team members that I spoke with, also had that same quality of kindness. Just genuine NICE people. Willie came over to clear the drain problem and he's an awesome guy. He figured out immediately the best approach to get the clog out. And he showed me the images with a special camera down in the drain. He's by far the most considerate person I've ever had over here. My two dogs were especially bad and barked terrible at him.. and he remained calm, relaxed and pleasant. He even saved one of them out in the street because I had left the gate open. Not only are they great people at Mother's, but they charged less than any others that I checked. I checked a lot. The 1st plumbing company that I called required a fee just to come and look at the problem, for an estimate of what the actual job will cost.. their estimate fee was about the same as Mother's full fee was for doing the entire job, with no estimate fee charged. They did a great job servicing my water heater as it needed a flush after four years. Note that I was unaware of this maintenance was even needed! My bad! Thankfully it's behind me now. I also had them look at my sink disposal and two toilets. They provided good advice about the condition of a water valve on one toilet and after discussing price options, I decided to get the toilet pumps updated. Overall, they took just over an hour for all the repairs and then explained everything they completed by taking me on a "tour" of the repairs until I was satisfied.
