The first incident I witnessed was a teacher, Ms. Jen, using her feet to push children into their chairs. I immediately brought my concerns to the front office because I do not believe that is an appropriate or acceptable way to handle toddlers. Unfortunately, I felt those concerns were dismissed. Not long after, I saw the same teacher use a spoon to stop my son from doing something. Aside from being inappropriate, it was unsanitary. I also witnessed teachers picking food up off the floor and giving it back to the children, which was extremely concerning. About a month later, I picked my son up with a busted lip that had dried blood on it, a knot on his head, and hives covering his body. No one contacted me about any of these injuries, and when I arrived, staff could not locate an incident report. After about 20 minutes of searching, they finally found it, but it was so poorly written that it was nearly impossible to read. Another issue occurred during water day. My son was placed in a different classroom and allowed to participate in water activities even though he was not scheduled to be outside for water day at all. He was allowed to play without a swimsuit, sunscreen, or water shoes, and spent time outside soaking wet in the same clothes I had dropped him off in. No one contacted me beforehand to let me know he had been moved or to ask me to bring the appropriate items. Ultimately, we chose to unenroll him early after receiving conflicting information regarding tuition and scheduling as he transitioned into the two-year-old classroom with an additional day. Let's just say, If they're teaching children the same math that they use to calculate payments, you do not want to bring to your child here! Throughout our time there, it became apparent that communication and organization were lacking. Staff members frequently provided different answers, and concerns were often met with explanations rather than meaningful resolution. As a parent, I was deeply disappointed by the overall lack of professionalism, cleanliness, accountability, and organization. I never felt confident that concerns were taken seriously, and there always seemed to be an excuse instead of a solution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this facility. That said, I do want to recognize the teachers who made a positive impact on my son's experience. Ms. Megan, Ms. Rebecca, Ms. Morgan, and another teacher; a Black woman with glasses who was usually there midday, whose name I unfortunately cannot remember were all kind, attentive, and genuinely cared for the children. They were a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience.

Additionally, they charge extra for "early drop off" yet there is only 1 teacher there from 6:30-8 AM for ALL ages combined. That's ridiculous and total chaos! There was also a day (the last day) in which I picked my daughter up, and her diaper was soaking wet and so heavy, indicating it hadn't been changed for several hrs, yet their website proclaims they change every 2 hrs? When I returned that same evening to turn in my withdrawal form, I asked when the last time was that she had her diaper changed. One of the assistants went to check with her teacher. I was told that they were getting ready to change her right as I picked her up. How convenient! Before starting daycare with this place, we are required to fill out several forms that ask questions about child's routine, etc. My daughter doesn't usually eat lunch until noon, yet they serve it at 11. I noticed on the bubble and friends app that they kept documenting that my daughter "wasnt interested" in lunch. I called and asked "so if my daughter doesn't eat lunch when it's served, is that just tough luck and they don't try to give it to her again around noon?" I was told "yeah basically, but they do get a snack after their nap around 2:30." I then asked the manager "what's the point of parents filling out these forms then with info regarding my child's routine" and she replies "I really don't know, we've just always had them, I'll have to ask about that." It's like they don't even read over these forms and have no idea how to meet children's individual and unique needs. I felt like my daughter was lost in a sea of faces. The turnover rate for teachers at this school Is less than a year which is also a huge red flag.

From the outside, the building might look small and a bit tucked away, but it truly proves the saying "you can't judge a book by its cover." Once you walk inside, the facility is surprisingly large and spacious, with beautifully decorated high ceilings and thoughtfully designed learning areas. Lily, the Director, has been amazing from the start. She regularly checks in with us and makes sure everything is going well. She and the entire staff are incredibly cheerful and professional, while also creating a genuine sense of care and trust. Every morning we are greeted with smiles, and my son is excited to go to class each day. One of the biggest differences we've noticed compared to our previous daycare is the variety of activities and spaces available to the kids. Because the facility is so large, the children aren't confined to one room or a single playground all day. Instead, they get to move throughout the school and experience different environments. Some of the amazing things available to the kids include: - A mini cafeteria where they can participate in cooking activities - A science lab - An indoor basketball court - An in-school library with Spanish lessons - A media center - Three large playgrounds for different age groups - Art classes - An imagination center for dress-up and creative play - A large activity room with a stage, toys, and tables for group play The environment allows kids to explore, learn, and move throughout the day rather than being cooped up in a single classroom. All 4 of our kids have gone to Little Sunbeams or are currently going. We started there with our oldest at 2, back in 2019 and he went all 3 years, until kindergarten. Our kids are all 2 years apart and we started them the month they turned 2 and were able to start going. Currently, my oldest is 8 and in 3rd grade and both him and my 1st grader are already in the advanced programs at school. Kindergarten teachers were amazed with how much they knew. My daughter is 5 and finishing up her last year at LSB before moving onto kindergarten. She knows how to write her full name and is currently working on site words. My youngest is 3 and has been at LSB for a year and loves it. The best part for me as a mom, is that it is a place where I feel comfortable sending my kids. I know they will be taken care of and loved. It is just a huge plus that they learn so much, and have the opportunity to explore and be creative everyday. Little Sunbeams also has an app, so they give updates there as needed and post pictures everyday- which is also another favorite of mine. The school is affordable and also offers flexible schedules, which we have often taken advantage of. Mrs Miriam is truly an angel. She is the owner and has shaped Little Sunbeams into what it is today. I am always so surprised with how hands on she is to this day with the kids. They love her. Ms Ivis is wonderful as well. If you call or walk in, she will most likely be the person to greet you. She is so welcoming and has answers to all of the questions. She has been such a great addition to the team. Ms Veronica is one of the teachers and has had 3 of my 4 kids. She is one of their besties but knows how to keep order of a classroom so that both learning and fun can be had. Ms Sara is the Spanish and Atelier teacher and she has had all 4 of my kids! She teaches them so much and has incredible patience with them as they are learning. I really can't say enough about this school. If you are on the fence, go check it out for yourself. We are going on our 8th year here and still love it.
