Nothing fancy or pretentious here. I had the Pot Roast with mashed potatoes and Cole Slaw. The pot roast was fork tender and pretty good. Mashed potatoes were decent and I really liked the Cole slaw. Their Cole slaw is the 'creamy' style. The cabbage is cut very finely. I did enjoy it. My wife had the breaded tenderloin sandwich with fries. She proclaimed the Tenderloin the best she's had. Crispy outside, tender inside. She ordered her fries crispy but they were served flabby. This is one of the few restaurants that prices are still reasonable. Meal and drinks (tea) average $12 a person. Service was excellent. We are looking forward to returning and both ordering the Tenderloin sandwich.

The restaurant is on the square in Vernon across from the beautiful Jennings County courthouse and is decorated very authentically. A lot of the Mexican restaurants play their authentic music which is okay but this restaurant was playing country music and that was appealing to everyone in our party. The chips and salsa to start were wonderful. Two kinds one mild and one hot both are delicious. The Carnitas were so good, on the plate came rice, beans and a side of tortillas. The Quesadilla took me to flavor town it had chicken, steak and shrimp with sautéed veggies that were delicious Our waitress was nice and upbeat. Now to the margarita it was good just alittle on the tart side but overall a great experience here. I'd stop in again when passing through this cute little town.
