These guys are awesome, little mom and pop shop with great customer service and communication. Ralph was extremely helpful and was able to get my 2016 Ford Transit van back in shape, gave me a time frame and a great price and stayed true to it for the most part. Ralph saved the day for us before our trip to Chicago! Had a resie at another place near where our RV is parked only to arrive and have them tell us they do not do it after confirming they do! After our drive down from WeHo we were less than amused. It is extremely difficult to find someone to do an oil change on a RV at a moment's notice, but Ralph and Sunrise RV Repair came through for us!!! We did not even have to get out of the RV. I paid Ralph to fix the damaged tanks on my camper van, only to find out they had not been fixed. After he finally complete the repair, the electric release valve he put on broke and I have to have them repaired yet again. What a nightmare. I Do not recommend Sunrise RV repair. read more

Nice person upfront but took my RV, had it for 4 months, did $4000 in repairs without authorization then after driving it home, find out some of the work he stated was done, was absolutely not! i noticed reviews from people that called and didn't get a return call within their perceived time frame. I will admit its hard to get thru on the phone there sometimes. But i made an appointment, showed up and got a complete run thru of the works of my lil motorhome. I didn't have a clue how to work some of the things but the young man that works there with Ralph took the time to show me. They fixed the frig and a couple other things. Gets busy there, Ralph can get distracted with the different jobs they are working on, but good people, good intentions and all around a good outfit. read more

I've had two experiences with Ralph's and sunrise RV. My overall experience has been positive. As I read negative reviews about this place I would like to comment and state that it is hard to find a place to have your RV worked on where you can actually talk to the guys that are doing the work. Ralph is approachable and maybe sometimes overwhelmed with what he's doing but in my experience he's always made things right. Example, I've been in a pinch and he has put a water pump in for me so I can make my family vacations as planned. Weed out with the details later. This place is great, and very old-school. I showed up at 8AM without an appointment, with a propane leak in my VW Camper. These guys dug in and diagnosed the problem, even though I doubt they had ever seen a 1999 VW Eurovan Camper before. A few hours later I was back on the road after they replaced the propane regulator. One star off because no one was there at their opening hour of 8am, but an otherwise wonderful experience. read more

We have been visiting Sunrise RV (Ralph Tapia is the owner) for many years with our two V trailers (that we owned since we met Ralph) and also with our cars. Ralph also offers very modestly priced long term RV storage service. He is very friendly, patient, honest and highly experienced car mechanic and handyman. You must be one when you fix RV-s that carry all standard home appliances and a complex electrical and plumbing system. Place looks very humble and a bit disorganized but do not judge it by the looks only. Good work is done there. He also did some body work on our cars and damaged RV trailer. By the way: the supressed review accusing Ralph of installing used equipment is a bunch of crap and I DO NOT BELIEVE it !!! It is FAKE !!! It contradicts all good experiences we had with and all that we know about Ralpoh and his business. read more

I could not find an RV repair place close to me in Westchester. Camping World is 50 miles away in either direction, and Myers RV is in Torrance and booked up for months. Camping World is a bad place, too far, too pricey. Myers RV is expensive and you have to book months in advance, but they are good and knowledgeable. So what to do as a first time RV owner? I found Sunrise RV and so very happy I did! I had to replace a propane leak detector which is a newer model and does not use the 3rd wire that goes to the solenoid on Propane tank. They removed the solenoid, took care of the 3rd wire, and at very reasonable rates, on the spot same day, hurrah!!!! They are on the Westside too, so easy drive. Cons are that the lot is cramped and messy, so hard to finagle a way in. Pros are that this is old school, savvy RV mechanics that will go the extra mile to work out a creative solution to your RV problem. Reasonable, within reach, available appts, and good work. What more to ask for? Clearly a great find on Yelp! Bring them some pastries from Copenhagen in Culver City, and a bone for the dog next visit! (Yes, do avoid donuts, lets be healthier and classier). read more

this guy seemed really nice when we took our RV in to get a bunch of work done, and I must admit that I wanted to like him and his business. I work for a non-profit public health program and have a soft spot for the little guy. problem is that we paid him to install a new generator, and he actually put in an 11 year old generator. when we first got the RV back, I looked at the generator and it had spray paint and rust all over it. ran the serial number past the manufacturer, and they told me it was built in 2001. when I told him that he had ripped us off, he admitted to it and said he was sorry. at least he didn't put up a fight when I went to get the money back. in addition to the used generator, everything else that he was supposed to update on the RV, was actually just swapped out with used parts. The door lock he was supposed to replace: he just sprayed it with WD40 (it is broken just like when we took it in). he also put a big hole in the door to the cabin of the RV. i was very disappointed in the shoddy work, the second hand parts, and the hole in our RV. it wasn't even cheap. like I said: I work for a non-profit, and we have a hard time coming up with money for things like this, so it was really a big disappointment. I called Sunrise RV by mistake. I live in San Diego and was looking for a different repair shop. My review is only based on a phone call. The women who I spoke with was very helpful explaining extended warranties even knowing I was not going to bring my RV to their shop. If I lived near Hawthorn, I would bring it there in a heartbeat after speaking with this women. Great customer service! read more

This review of Sunrise RV is long overdue . I would give negative stars but it will not allow me to. On May 13, 2017. My daughter brought her motor home for an inspection which was prearranged between a perspective buyer and Ralph Tapia. It was brought in at approximately 910am and was to be picked up by 1200pm . At 1145am we called Ralph to see if it was ready to  be picked  up, at that time  we were informed by Ralph that he gave the "guy" the keys and he drove off .  RALPH then said he left the keys in the RV and the guy stole it.  There is video  footage  showing Ralph knew  at approximately 920 am that the  home  was gone. He never notified the police that  there was a theft because as he originally said he "gave" the "guy" the keys.When we told him he had no authority to hand the keys to a stranger he changed his story and said he left the keys in the Motor Home and it was stolen, but  NEVER reported it to the police. It makes one wonder if he knew the perpetrator. Ralphs negligence  and total irresposibilty  has caused immeasurable  damage and heartache for my daughter. She lost everything she owned , sentimental jewelry and all of her personal information has been compromised .Her  RV had $15,000.worth  of damage. Ralph acknowledged that he felt bad and would try to make it right but went back on his word and refuses to accept any responsibility for what had happened while the Motor Home was in his possession. RALPH may be a good mechanic but is irresponsible,immoral and is NOT A MAN OF HIS WORD  He claims he does not carry liability insurance on his business, but leaves the Motor homes unlocked with the keys in the ignition. I hope this warning will save someone else the heartache this has caused my daughter. Ralph continues to go on with business as usual while my daughter suffers the consequences from his actions. Ralph has no remorse and should be ashamed of himself. If anyone considers bringing their RV to him,please think twice or insure that the RV is locked! Sent from my Verizon read more

Called December 4th and spoke to Ralph on the phone and said I had a camper van and a camping trailer for him to give me a quote on. One was for a roof repair and the other minor stuff. I wanted to go with these guys as I live in Hawthorne about 5 minutes away. Asked if he could come to my residence and give quote as I'm down the street and one person moving 2 vehicles is a bit tricky. He said and to call if we didn't get any rain and we did, so I waited until the following week. Called at 4:03 yesterday and a lady answered and said he was on a service call and call back in an hour. Called at 5:02 and go figure they close at 5...called today at 9:01 was told he wasn't in and I left my phone number with a few details. I'm a contractor who runs a " mom & pop" business and understand you can't always return phone calls until the end of the day. Thought I'd give it another try at 12:21 and they said he was at lunch to call back in a half an hour. At this point I'm kind of over this. If Ralph's the guy to make decisions maybe he should have a direct number to be reached. Tried again at 2:33 and was told he was not in. I said ok and here I am writing this review. If they decide to reach out to me I will update my review. Otherwise I will be looking somewhere else. read more

I have a food carte trailer and the deli station refrigerator needs freon recharging and I called them on Friday and was told to call back in a half hr Cause the person I need to talk to wasn't there and would be bk then. So I called bk and once again he had just went to launch was told to call bk in an hr... Called them an hr and half later and finally got to Talk to the person I need told him what I need done And ask him how much would it cost me.. He told me he would call me tomorrow when with the cost of service to get my trailer working so l can put it to work.. It is now Wednesday and still no call from them. So I called one more time and was told he is out to lunch once again... I'll need call or use them Again this is no way to run a business.. read more

After reading great reviews I was extremely disappointed in my dealings with these guys. First of all I called several times and was assured by the girl who answered the phone that I would get a call back immediately and was never called back once. I was then kept on hold waiting for Ralph to come to the phone for over 20 minutes. I finally went down there and he struck me as a nice guy who was probably overwhelmed with the amount of work sitting in his yard. I got him to have a quick look at the Shocks on the RV and he told me the Rear Springs needed to be repaired and that the only place to get them done would be Long Beach Springs. And that if I wanted to get the Shocks replaced after the Springs had been repaired I would have to go back to see him as Long Beach Spring would not replace the Shocks. He told me he would call Kyle @ Long Beach Springs to arrange a time and get back to me. When I still hadn't heard back from him five days later I called Kyle myself and had a fantastic experience in dealing with him - check the review. And Kyle replaced the Shocks whilst everything was already apart. So I ended up feeling like Ralph had been trying to scam me. Not a good look. Very disappointed. read more

Probably the worst business I have ever dealt with !!! I was lied to by Ralph that my toilet would be done on a Saturday afternoon but could be picked up Monday morning. I said that would be great because we were leaving Wednesday to go on a trip and that would give me time to install it. when I called Monday he said he hadn't got to it but he was getting on it today and he would call me in the afternoon. I did not receive a call that afternoon so I waited till Tuesday morning. When I called Tuesday he said he still hadn't got to it and I told him that I was going to pick it up because I had to get it fixed. He said that he had the parts that he would sell to me if I wanted to try to fix it myself. When I got there he didn't have the parts that he said he had I do not recommend this place to anyone. So we are going on a trip without a toilet hopefully I can find someone to come out and fix it while we're gone. read more

Aside from the various mechanical and electrical repairs they modified my bunk beds, installed a new wood floor, back up camera, stereo, and so much more. These guys are awesome. They did the work much faster than I expected but the reason I will only go to them is this. My parents are in their 80s and the owner went to their house to meet with the insurance man, then he hooked up their Rv and took it to the shop, repaired it in just a few days and delivered the rv back to my parents home.
