She had to move rooms due to an issue with her room and while "they moved her" they broke her chair, her tv, and jewelry ended up missed included two diamonds out of her wedding band. When addressed with a manager, she avoided and wouldn't call back or participate in a conference call with family to get answers. Gifts that were sent there were never delivered, or were offended delivered 5-10 days after arriving. I live out of state and had to fly out there to make sure that the items delivered were delivered correctly. When Walmart orders for her were delivered, they were being opened and items were missing! The "leadership" there is a joke and dips and dodges all responsibility and will not have any conversation if it's the tiny bit uncomfortable. The "people running the place" are all about money and are farming as many elderly people as they can to make as much money as they can! They take no accountability, no ownership, and clearly do not have any leadership or management ability to speak to people, or have actual conversations. This place was horrible and I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this hell hole!

When it was time to take that next step and her family needed to choose the best option for a memory care facility their search finally ended when they found Silverado Memory Care in Escondido. Now that my dear friend has been living there she is so happy every time we come visit her. We just came to see her last night and she was relaxed while watching a funny movie with other residents. She and some of the others were laughing out loud about this particular movie. Recently one of her daughters attended one of their many fun events when they had an Elvis impersonator. I saw the pictures and could tell they had an amazing time! They were dancing and singing and interacting with "Elvis." Every time we have popped in for a visit and no matter what time of day or night everyone seems happy and well cared for. We have had good experiences with everyone that works there. They have all been kind, warm, friendly and helpful. My dear friend loves living there. She is at a stage of Alzheimer's where she has a need for a lot of wandering and walking and she is free to do so at this facility. My parent was a resident for a very short time. I moved them out due to lack of compassion,…read moretraining, and staffing. The staff is NOT trained to handle different dementia behaviors. I witnessed staff, on several occasions, ignoring residents when they became combative and difficult. Hearing them tell one another, "I am not handling them". My parent was accused of aggressive/abusive behaviors. Sending them to the ER, rather than deescalating the situation. Staff expected my demented parent to inform them when they were becoming agitated or overwhelmed to provide them with their prescribed "as needed" medication. Staffs lack medical training/guidance Director Caroline S. would call demanding my parent be removed out of the facility, despite physician advising against this. Our provider informed the director, on more than one occasion, any move would be detrimental to their health. Director does not appear to have medical knowledge, or is just not familiar with physician orders. Medications were not administered as directed. The facility is not staffed appropriately with the amount of residents. Many residents were alone with no staff around. I witnessed staff sitting around and speaking about other residents. Highly unprofessional and unethical. Rooms were cleaned daily. There was leftover food in my parents room from the night before. Bugs flying around in and around the room. Despite of personal items being labeled, my parents clothes, personal possessions, walker and cane would end up in other residents rooms. The facility made a strong impression that my parent would be well taken care of. Safe and well cared for. The facility made it impossible and difficult for my parent to adjust. This is supposed to be a memory care facility. Staff is supposed to be trained to handle ALL levels of dementia. They don't! Had I known this, I would have never placed my parent in this facility. I do not recommend this facility with your loved one.

After serving as my Mom's primary caregiver for 11 years, I spent two years personally checking…read moredozens of local North County senior residential care homes for my 90 year old mother, who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's and Dementia. Most are OK, not great. The larger facilities are too hotel-ish and very costly. A few were terrible. I reported THE MANSE in Vista to the state for elder abuse, and ultimately they were given a only minor warning. Avoid that house of horrors at all costs! After putting Mom's name on a list at Blue Skies I decided to call Lauren back to see if they had an opening. Fortunately for us, she had an opening and so in February of 2014 we moved Mom into their Oceanside facility. They have two large 6 room/bed homes, one in Oceanside and the other in San Marcos. Both are big beautiful homes with lovely yards and gardens. Mom's care there has been wonderful, as Lauren and her staff treat each resident as if they are family, with lots of TLC, activities, and personal care. Staffing levels are plentiful, with a 2-3 staffing contingent for the six residents at each place 24/7. Amazingly, their price in very middle-of-the-road and well worth the services and facilities provided with delicious hot meals 3X daily, and plenty of snacks and drinks. Their loving, caring attitude is priceless! If you are seeking a wonderful home-like "family" atmosphere for an elder loved one, you will not find a nicer, more accommodating place in the area for ANY price. I know this as I checked most of them personally and can attest to this fact. So if you need some help with a loved one getting on in years, or needing help with daily living activities, do yourself a favor and call Lauren and get on their list right away. You will thank yourself as I do every single day. Yes, there is a list but they do have turnover due to the advanced aged of many of their residents.
