The place is clean and there seems to be a lot of activities available. I've eaten at their dining hall a few times, and it's pretty good. Smaller portions. You can always order more food. Note that you (family members) get free food the first week of your relatives' stay. Then you have to buy a food ticked at the front desk. It's not located in a sketchy part of Escondido, but it's also next to a busy street. Staff members seem to know everyone's name by heart.

When it was time to take that next step and her family needed to choose the best option for a memory care facility their search finally ended when they found Silverado Memory Care in Escondido. Now that my dear friend has been living there she is so happy every time we come visit her. We just came to see her last night and she was relaxed while watching a funny movie with other residents. She and some of the others were laughing out loud about this particular movie. Recently one of her daughters attended one of their many fun events when they had an Elvis impersonator. I saw the pictures and could tell they had an amazing time! They were dancing and singing and interacting with "Elvis." Every time we have popped in for a visit and no matter what time of day or night everyone seems happy and well cared for. We have had good experiences with everyone that works there. They have all been kind, warm, friendly and helpful. My dear friend loves living there. She is at a stage of Alzheimer's where she has a need for a lot of wandering and walking and she is free to do so at this facility. She can also go outside in their beautiful yard and enjoy some sun and fresh air. I am grateful we can pop in to see her there anytime and know she is happy and doing so well. I am tearing up wrapping up this review because I am so grateful.

As his health declined, the staff remained patient and kind. During my regular visits, I never saw or heard a caregiver speak sharply to any resident. Despite his limitations, they always tried to include him in activities and keep him engaged. Although it is a fairly large facility, the staff genuinely seemed to know all the residents by name. The staff are friendly and live with the senior guests around the clock. The meals are prepared fresh and customized for guest presence (they even purée and prepare separate soups for those with weak teeth). First, the home is very beautiful and very clean. Our entire family felt so comfortable and welcomed every time we visited. The caregivers are extremely attentive and treated my mother like she was their mother. There was a physical therapist that came in everyday to help my mother walk again. There was a doctor that would come by and see my mother at the home as opposed to having me drive her to see a doctor. My mother is lactose intolerant and the caregivers specially prepared meals just for her and made sure she received her medications on time. I would recommend Sapphire Pacific to anybody considering a board and care home or an assisted living. This was the best decision we could have ever made for my mother.

During that time, our family has experienced our share of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. In our experience, Ocean View Post Acute stands apart. Never before have we seen such a strong partnership between Physical Therapy and Nursing. They make something incredibly difficult look easy. And we know firsthand that it is anything but. Our mom is a vulnerable 88-year-old navigating a difficult journey. The staff are responsive, attentive, and compassionate. They visibly slow down for her when she needs it, speak to her with dignity and respect, and encourage her while continuing to push her toward her goals. They do this even on the busiest days, when it is clear they are working hard to meet the needs of everyone in their care. No group of people is perfect, and neither is Ocean View. But what we see every day is the striving. The teamwork. The professionalism. The humanity. We don't know whether Mom will ultimately recover from her trauma. But what we do know is that Ocean View is giving her the best opportunity to do so. And in the end, that's all any family can ask of the people entrusted with the care of someone they love.
