This place is tucked off the highway in a little strip mall. We were seated and immediately had our waitress at our table. We ordered and had the food in what seemed minutes! It was fresh and tasty! We each had omelets and they give you a choice of bananas, potatoes, tomatoes or grits as a side. Good, fast breakfast! What more can you ask for! read more

Sunrise is usually packed for breakfast/brunch hours. Staff all seem to be high school aged girls, which is ok. They have always been nice. Food is decent. Nothing stands out as best I've ever had. Owned by a local resident. Kid-friendly menu. Small building but seems to be spacious enough for the crowd. What a great little breakfast place in the middle of nowhere. I didn't really care for the town or the area but this little restaurant was really impressive. We rented a cabin on the lake for the weekend about 10 minutes away. Found the restaurant postings on yelp and thought we would try and cut out the cooking for the day. The only thing I really regret is not having the chocolate gravy. If I'm ever back I will try it! I had the sunrise special! It was just perfect for 5.99 you get 2 eggs, crispy bacon, hash browns, and choice of toast or biscuit, get the biscuit, it's soft and just melt in your mouth! The atmosphere was expected for a breakfast place, nothing fancy just perfect to be in and out. We had 6 of us and barely had to wait on a Saturday morning, maybe 15 minutes at most. I had a big omelette and it was probably the best one I've ever had. The coffee was strong and hot, everything was excellent.

This place does not understand the meaning of customer service. The sign on the door clearly states they close at 2:00pm. On one occasion we arrived at 1:30 and we were told the kitchen was closed and that we needed to arrive before 1:30 in order to be served. On the next occasion we arrived at 1:15 and were told the kitchen was closed. Why doesn't the door say they close at 1:00 pm? They'd rather turn away business than serve their customers. They've turned us away one too many times. We'll never go back. No need. Lulu's right up the street closes at 2:00pm and they mean 2:00pm. As long as you walk in by that time, they will serve you with a smile. read more

Best and most favorite breakfast in town! They can do pretty much ANYTHING with a pancake and they offer a southern classic: chocolate gravy (Willy Wonka doesn't even make it this good!). Their menu variety is unmatched and it has a sweet side and savory side which makes it easier to go through and point out all the 5000 things I want to order. The ambience inside is farmhouse homey; very relaxed and familial and you'll feel comfortable diving headfirst into your plate, trough-style. I've been here plenty of times and try to be a regular whenever I'm in the area because something this wonderful and down to earth can't be found in a big city like Nashville. This trip I had chocolate gravy and biscuit with a side of THREE eggs and sausage. It was heavenly and I've reached that fat n' happy stage of eating where I can now go home and sleep until my next meal. One word describes this place: AWESOME! They have a lot of choices ranging from omelets, pancakes, and platter in different combinations. It is a good place to have breakfast any time until 2pm. Their foods are BIG portions. Their omelets consists of 4 eggs compared to 2 or three everywhere else you go. I love their "Kitchen Sink" and Country omelets. Their pancakes are also fluffy and tasty. Their serving for this is also crazy! It fed all three of us. Only thing I wish they had was Red Velvet pancakes. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs, Sunrise special, the kids happy face pancake for our 2 year old and the Maine blueberry pancakes and they were amazing! I like my coffee strong this was mild though but the food was great! We ordered and everything was out in under 10 minutes! The food was good. Classic southern breakfast, big portions. But, the menu was misleading, and if you love coffee like I do, you'll understand. Under the drink selection, they listed the typical espresso drinks: lattes, capuccinos, mocha, etc. I ordered a latte, without anything added to it. Assuming i was getting espresso and steamed milk, I was instead served a watery powder-mix drink. Upon asking, I found out the restaurant doesn't have an espresso machine at all. They use the canned drink mixes (Maxwell House, I believe) that are simply stirred into hot water. I was given the French Vanilla variety, I believe. I wish they wouldn't advertise espresso drinks when they just use a powder mix. read more

BLT comes whit bacon crumbles not strips of bacon. Two of us had it, could not keep the sandwich together to eat like a sandwich. I ended up picking up peices of bacon to stuff inside the bread as best I could. read more
