This coffee shop has a fantastic selection of matcha drinks and coffee classics. I would definitely recommend this shop for anyone that prefers sweeter drinks with great flavors. The prices are somewhat comparable to other shops in the valley, maybe on the pricey side, but the drinks are also of a higher quality than some of the other shops in town. The baristas here are always fantastic, and super fast. The lines may be long, but they are quick to kick out drinks. The decor in the shop is more modern, but actually has design elements instead of feeling like the empty space lacking character like many other modern designs. I They use La Barba beans, which generally aren't my favorite bean, but they are dialed in and actually pull a great shot. I visited Sunroom Coffee twice while in SLC, since it was walking distance from my hotel and was easy to walk to in the freezing cold weather! During my first visit, I ordered a cappuccino and a bagel to go with avo and cream cheese. The amount that was layered on the bagel was pretty slim, which I didn't mind because oftentimes with bagels, it is a challenge not to get the bagel fillings all over you! The next day I dropped by, I got a spiced chai and their good AM bagel, which came with egg, cheese, and hot honey drizzle. Been wanting to check out this coffee shop for a while after seeing it all over social media. Finally stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy. So busy that there wasn't really anywhere to sit - which I guess is both good and bad. Clearly it's popular, but just wish the space was a little bigger. The drink menu sounded amazing; lots of flavored matcha options and seasonal specialty drinks. Unfortunately I'm a creature of habit and usually just order an Americano with oat milk (around $4-5), which was decent. It leaned heavy on the milk and didn't have much matcha flavor. One thing I did appreciate was their partnership with Chubby Baker. I ended up getting a strawberry cream donut, and it hit the spot, it was soft and not overly sweet. However, the amount of strawberry in the donut was skimpy. The aesthetic of the space is really cute and thoughtfully designed, but it's more of a hangout spot than a study-friendly one. Also, parking is rough. I decided to give Sunroom another try and was much happier with my experience. I got their Strawberry Blvd latte and really enjoyed it. The strawberry foam on top was delicious. This latte was more reasonably priced at $5.75 for a small, but it is still a bit pricey. The service was also great this time. The barista who made my drink was very friendly and checked in to make sure I enjoyed it. I stayed for a while to get some studying done and was surprised at how consistently busy it was. Since I got there not too long after they opened, I didn't have any issues with waiting in line or finding a seat. If you come in the afternoon, I have a feeling that it will be difficult. A few hours after I arrived, I ordered The Ari Bagel. It's a bagel topped with avocado, cream cheese, and salt and pepper. It was pretty good, but the avocado definitely tasted like it came prepackaged. I would have preferred it if it were fresh. It seems like they started enforcing parking nearby, so you can't just leave your car in the 1 hour parking anymore. I ended up parking about a 10 minute walk away on N 500 W. read more

I don't think I've ever been to more accurately named coffee shop. The windows are huge and the sun was coming in, and it was great for the middle of winter. They played some fun music, and they had WiFi available, as well as plenty of chairs and tables to sit and work. My drink came out quickly and was so cute. I got one of the specialty drinks, so it was pretty pricey for a medium, in my opinion -- about $9 before tip. The drink itself was good, if a little mild; I wasn't getting a lot of the flavors that were listed for my drink, but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. My overall rating is 4.5/5, just because I wish I got a little more bang for my buck in terms of flavor and size of my drink. I tried out the Hibiscus Matcha with vanilla matcha with strawberry and lavender cold foam. It was so good!! The space isn't bad when there aren't a lot of people, but there aren't a ton of places to sit especially when it's busy. There's a ton of natural lighting (I mean, it's literally in the name), comfortable seating options, and a great food and drink menu. Bingo! I chose a very cozy lounger, but there's bar seating and high tables as well. I ordered my usual, an iced americano with hazelnut and cream, and it was absolutely delicious. Got the honeymoon and the artificial coconut flavor was too strong. Also got the head in the clouds and the coffee was sour. I liked how it came with an extra shot, but why was it sour?? I really didn't like the head in the clouds so I asked to switch for a strawberry matcha but that was also lacking. All it tasted like was strawberry milk and a veeeeery subtle hint of matcha. I got it because I noticed the color of the matcha in someone else's drink which looked promising but I guess they're inconsistent. I got a lychee matcha with rose foam (miu miu matcha on the menu) and it was so good although a tiny bit too sweet for my taste buds. they have partnered with chubby baker and have amazing pastries/desserts to choose from. a few things to note: its located in the mix of the hardware apts so parking takes awhile to find. you might have to circle around a few times before finding a spot, next the shop has a bar like vibe to it, loud bumping music, minimal tables/outlets and a bunch of couches, so its a fun spot to socialize and grab a coffee but wouldnt be my first choice for a study spot on a late night.
