    House Plate
    Amber E.

So I was visiting Salt Lake City with a coworker and we went for a walk. We wanted to find a good local breakfast place with good matcha and stumbled upon The Rose Establishment. I order the House Plate with a matcha (not pictured). The food was amazing. The young woman that took my order let me know that the food would take about 25 minutes before we would get it. I appreciate that she let us know so we would know what to anticipate. The ambiance was nice and very welcoming. I would definitely come back again and try other food options.

Americano Drip Coffee avocado toast and the bowl

Came here on Mother's Day and it was not absolutely insane which was SO nice! You walk up and order your food and it's brought out to you. The avocado toast was fantastic!! I got an Americano with rose pistachio sauce, it was definitely interesting tasting, I enjoyed it. And can we talk about the oatmeal chocolate chip rosemary cookie with cranberries because I'm drooling thinking about it! It was SO freaking good! This place was a gem! If I'm ever back in the area I'd come again!

I review restaurants with my OAT method: O= Overall experience - Take note that this place is in downtown SLC so parking can be a bit difficult. They have 2 hour free parking in the front but there is not a parking lot for the restaurant. A= Appearance - The Rose Establishment is a versatile place where you can grab a coffee and do work on a computer, read a book, or catch up with a friend here! There are plenty of seating options. T= Taste - I ordered a hot chocolate and the 9-5 breakfast sandwich. The hot cocoa had fun latte art! Unfortunately, the drink was not sweet or creamy. It was very watery and bland. The breakfast sandwich had really good flavor. I liked the addition of the pickled red onions!

    coconut yogurt parfait (5/5)

So nice I had to get it twice!! I was traveling in SLC and popped in a couple times for a quick brunch. The service was a little slow, but completely understandable given how busy they were! There was still ample seating, and the staff were all very friendly. On two separate days, I ordered the coconut yogurt parfait (GF & vegan) and the Lady Bergamot matcha (once iced and once hot). Coconut yogurt parfait (5/5) - Solid flavor and surprisingly filling. The second time I ordered it, the mint and raspberries kinda looked like they were just tossed on there, compared to the first day when they were so cutely arranged, but the taste was just as good. Lady Bergamot matcha (5/5!!!) - This was soooo peak. The hot version was so cozy during the cold morning, and the iced one was refreshing on a warm afternoon. But just a heads up if you're not a big fan of bergamot, you might want to stick to a regular matcha, since the flavor is pretty strong.

I came here on a weekday to meet a friend and do some work. Unfortunately they don't offer public WiFi. There is a small parking lot that fits about 5 cars. I got the creamsicle iced coffee and it was pretty good. The cheddar chive biscuit was the star of my visit. The combo together was not bad. I agree with other reviewers the prices are steep but I guess that's inflation. They also add an 18% service charge automatically to every order to pay their staff. With indoor and outdoor seating and fresh plants the ambiance is awesome. It's very hipster, indie vibes.

Cute spot to come for a quality and unique coffee or other beverage and some breakfast or lunch! I got their orange vanilla mocha which sounded unique and is available hot or iced - I opted for ice and quite enjoyed it! I also got one of their fresh scones, cranberry and rosemary, which pleasantly surprised me. Cute spot to come alone or with a group of friends with ample seating, but unfortunately no WiFi for working.

More of a weekday coffee shop and a brunch place on weekends. This shop is one of the best places to meet up with people. I've been touring around coffee shops in the valley and would place this one high on a weekend with friends list. As far a place to work from, it's good but doesn't offer wifi, so better for a book or offline project. The shop itself is a reclaimed building made of brick with a small patio. There is a ton of open seating and it does give an energy of a resturaunt. I didn't get a meal this visit, but I absolutely would. With how well they made my drink and the detail put into making an experience nice, there's no way I could pass it up next time. Overall, I will definitely be back, and you should check it out if you haven't already.

I stopped by for a quick breakfast to go and picked up a yogurt and a banana muffin, which came to about $15. Service was very fast-l was in and out quickly, and Luna didn't even have to come out of the car. My husband stayed with her while I ran inside. They do have outdoor seating available if you'd like to enjoy breakfast on the patio. The menu seemed a bit limited, and the yogurt was on the sweeter side for my taste. I didn't see a posted menu, so 1 just ordered from what was displayed behind the glass. Ambiance was nice, I did like the outdoor patio.

Popped into The Rose for a breakfast after arriving in SLC. The latte was delicious! I ordered "the dinner plate" with jam. The jam was a house made strawberry rhubarb. Yum. I'm not a jam/jelly gal generally, but this was too good to pass up. The potatoes were nicely seasoned, and the bacon and eggs were delish. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I stayed a while and did a little work, enjoying the time. Great spot!

I got a matcha latte with orange vanilla syrup and oat milk that was a little under $9. The matcha was tasty but so expensive for a small latte. The barista wasn't sure if she made mine with oat milk and she re-made it as she had me taste it and it was indeed made with whole milk so I really appreciated her checking!

This place is so cute, and the food is so good! The cheddar herb biscuits are fantastic, and I had the perfect breakfast sandwich made from one. The biggest drawback is the price. I got one breakfast sandwich, one plain biscuit, and a small cookie, and that cost $30. My friend spent $26 on their meal also.

    Too much bread!
    Alison G.

So disappointed they did away with the mushroom tartine! The cashew cream in this dish was the whole reason I went there! Next time I will ask to substitute the coconut yogurt for the dairy and the other egg dishes. Although it's certainly not the same as feta! And they are serving way too much bread. Next time I order double the amount of egg and veggies, and half the amount of bread.

    Pumpkin latte
    Amy J.

Service was friendly and quick! I appreciated not having to wait longer than needed for my drink. The pumpkin latte was well balanced. It wasn't too sweet and I could taste the flavor. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was filling. I literally ate this for lunch and was full. I love the space and parking was easy.

My server was very kind and helped me take my order according to my dietary restrictions. The cheese/egg biscuit was my fave! Super soft, buttery biscuit with cheesy scrambled eggs, garnished with some scallions, which I really enjoyed as it added something a little extra. My limeade was refreshing and had what seemed like brown sugar at the bottom. It was already sweet enough without me needing to excessively stir it. Also got the loaded hash, without bacon. They were yummy! I really enjoyed the red quinoa/potato combo. Highly recommend if you're in the area, and looking for a yummy, cozy, filling meal. Parking was easy right out front.

On this particular morning, I was feeling really ill, but I didn't want to put a damper on our day, so I trudged along, motivated mostly by the word "limeade" (as limes are my favorite fruit), and ended up recovering enough to down a couple of the absolutely incredible breakfast tacos, as well as sucking down a massive habanero limeade, which somehow made me feel even better! No one left hungry or dissatisfied, and as mentioned, we even took an extra limeade with us on the road! I would come here just for another one myself, if it wasn't a 12 hour drive from home! Hell, it just might be worth it...?!

Well, I must have loved it since I went twice!! First day tried the BLT as well as a chocolate croissant which is to seriously die for, it is a must. Kiaya (lord I hope that is right) was my server and she was excellent. I had a Pellegrino Blood Orange soda along with my lunch and loved the salad dressing as well! The sandwich was with 1/2 salad and 1/2 potatoes, yum yum. The second time, I had Connor (he will remember Sheldon) who served me. He was awesome. I tried out a blueberry mimosa, an iced mocha and a water (I had been walking a lot and was tired and thirsty, don't judge). Then I just wanted that dang BLT again! I also ordered another almond chocolate croissant (I know, I know, should have tried something else). Well I did get a cookie too! My lunch was taking a little long, so they also brought out a couple of pastry items to try as well, so yum yum! The Chocolate Macaroon was also so wonderful and I cannot say enough about this quaint spot. It did fill up during lunch on the Thursday, so get there early or late! PROS: Main street, easy access from transportation/offices Great selection of homemade pastries Nice choices for drinks (obviously, I tried a few) Super quaint bistro style inside Outside seating under shade and a tree Attentive and exceptional employees (CONNOR) CONS: Parking may be an issue, although some on-street parking available DON'T THINK, JUST GO! Everyone is so friendly and the service is quick. I remark every single time about how quick they are to serve us our food. They have remembered my family and bring us our drinks without even needing to ask. Their food is delicious, and we appreciate the authenticity. If you haven't been, and aren't near by to partake in their amazing food regularly, you HAVE to try the Philly asada omelet. You won't regret it!! I saw a comment about the restaurant being dark, but the lighting seems great. Anything much brighter would probably upset my eyes, especially early in the morning (as that's when we typically go). Someone also mentioned the wait is long. The restaurant isn't huge, and if you go at a time when everyone else is also going, usually any time after 9, then of course it'll be busy. Go early and it'll be faster, but either way, the wait is completely worth it. Thank you, to the Our Kitchen Cafe family for being so kind to me and my family.
