Sunserve is a local charitable service organization with its motto of "We Help People," and indeed they do. Better yet, for those that are in need of services, those services will be provided regardless of their ability to pay. My experience with them came after having suffered a severe stroke and needing help coping with the ramifications of suddenly becoming handicapped. Thank goodness Sunserve was there to help. They assigned me an excellent counselor who stayed with me for several months until I was emotionally and physically well enough to go it back on my own. Sunserve has multiple numbers of services. They are basically broken down as to those applicable to youth, transgender people, women's service, mental health and counseling, housing management and assistance, parent support, senior daycare, and LGBTQ proficiency on a fee-for-service basis to businesses. Each of those categories of offerings, however, contains various subcategories of services. For example, within the youth services, there are organizational offerings of events such as Thanksgiving dinner parties, movie nights, sleepovers, ice cream socials, etc. And, they also have organized groups such as a bereavement group, a gay male empowerment group, and many more. The staff of Sunserve is made up of those professionally qualified in the nature of the services they offer or attend to, and with a budget of around two million dollars a year, Sunserve is much bigger and much more highly active than many may think. Found by friends recommendation. Tremendously helpful and kind people. They helped me in a very bad time in my life I can't say enough positive things about them. If you can get a counselor and you set a schedule they won't let you down. The staff changes a little too often but the people that have helped me have tried to make the transition seamless. If you put effort - they will too. They aren't babysitters. You have to try. It might save your life.... read more

I contacted this place in the hopes of figuring out my gender identity and receiving psychotherapy. I was strung around for months before they finally got around to getting me an appointment because I wrote them an email and BEGGED them to let me see someone. They set me up with a psychotherapist who was only ever there one day a week. I saw them for maybe 6 visits before sickness and other factors kept me from being able to reschedule and when I tried to reconnect with them I was immediately given the runaround again. Someone who's reaching out for help shouldnt be treated this way. I've been let down. read more

At times of need when everything seems to be wrong one might become extremely vulnerable and unable to realize that the promises from those who you were referred to for assistance are nothing less than lyes and propaganda. It is unfortunate how someone will do everything they can including making the someone's life even more difficult than it was prior to seeking assistance for the sole purpose of not admitting their mistakes. Unfortunately this is my reality as of the end of March until today dealing with Ms. Tiffany Ariegus who knowingly fails to take ownership of her mistakes.
