    Playing in the ocean

We loved this beach.great family beach For a family it was a great relaxing spot with lots of parking right next to beach access. It was about $11 for parking for 3-4 hours, which seemed kind of high but was totally worth it. The ocean here is great for small kids to play in.

Gorgeous, gorgeous sunset and view here!! I don't know why but I feel like the colors are prettier at this beach! New fav beach and worth the drive! Really clean and not crowded at all! They had a cute little arts and crafts fest here under the lights. Nice restaurants, bars and live music. I would love to live here! Very relaxed place. I may plan my next stay-cation here!!

Sunset time confession: I've watched a LOT of sunsets from this beach. When we stay in the area, we are literally steps from the beach. We love it here. But I have a problem... This whole concept of seeing a "green flash" just as the sun sinks below the horizon. I've seen a lot of sunsets. I've never seen a green flash. Did I blink? I've long suspected that it's a practical joke, like a left-handed monkey wrench or a snipe hunt... So I started asking around. Many (and I think too many) people have told me that they have seen the green flash, but I find myself not really believing. It's almost like you are obliged to say you've seen the green flash. I never really felt 100% about anyone that told me they saw it... Until I met Stan. Stan seems trustworthy. He told me the green flash does occur, and that he's seen two. He then qualified this by saying that was from watching about 360 sunsets a year, for the past 10 years! Wow, I had no idea that the green flash was that rare. I'm wondering if I'll ever see one? I guess I'll have to keep looking (and try not to blink). Have you seen a green flash? One last thing... Don't rush off the beach as soon as the sun sets. Some of the best colors occur AFTER the sun has set.

Love this beach! It's beautiful and best part it's not too crowded and you can go fishing from the pier. Also get a good amount of seashells from here to take back with me. Love it

I am probably going to get in trouble for giving this a 3 star, but I just like Treasure Island better than Pass-A-Grille! Treasure Island is surely more touristy. But the beach is so wide, it just has a cooler beach feel to it. Pass-A-Grille is narrow. It is just south of St. Pete Beach and is a lot like St. Pete Beach, only less touristy. What is nice is that there are no huge hotels lining the shore line. We picked Pass-A-Grille for this Sunday Sunset because my parents were in town. They have never been to this beach before. Moreover, my dad loves West African Drumming. He did not bring his djembe for this weekend visit. Treasure Island has one of the biggest drum circles around on Sunday Night on the beach. He would have been very unhappy that he could not join in. And worse yet, maybe someone would have offered him a drum, and then he would not be able to say no. And then my mother would be really unhappy. She always sighs and says, "why can't your father have a normal hobby like golf!" Nevertheless, Pass-A-Grille is a beautiful beach and has beautiful sunsets. Being a bit further south, it is off the touristy main drag and you can have a relaxing evening watch the orange sun dip into the gulf. And it is very easy to park. Don't be surprised if my fiancee gets on here and bumps up the rating to 4 or 5 stars. She is a local and this is one of her favorite beaches! I just like Treasure Island better!

Loved going to this beach while living south of Tampa, bay side. The beach is private and the restaurant/bar is amazing!! Great place to spend the evening watching the sunset or enjoying live music in the outside pavilion area!!

Great beach with easy access and sufficient street metered parking. Like that it offers food, gift shop, drinks and entertainment along with gorgeous sunsets. Mild surf, uncrowded. Can rent chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, SUP, kayaks and more or just chill and take in the sights. Sand is cool and inviting. Water is refreshing and fun

    Beautiful Sunset!

Amazing sunsets every time! What else can I ask for?? It is a blessing to experience the array of colors!!!

i think it's the best sunset in america. there is simply nothing more relaxing in the world, than to drive down to pass-a-grille and watch the sun set over the gulf of mexico. pass-a-grille is by far the most deserted and calm of pinellas' beaches and usually the sky over the water is clear as a bell and one can watch a big orange ball set over the water. sometimes the sky is cloudy and the the color spry is almost as amazing as anything you will see. order a drink from the snack bar right on the beach, bring a beach chair and just sit and relax. also, you will usually see a cruise ship or two transiting tampa bay and if your'e lucky dolphins. can't be beat.

Come on guys. Doesn't get better than this. Beautiful view, beautiful beach, decent amount of parking. This beach is just a treasure.

I am not a great photographer, but the view was so nice.

The sunset was indeed wonderful. There were just enough clouds to make things interesting and the warmer than usual weather made for a great walk both before and after sunset. This is worth the trip. We are staying in a nice little cottage less than a block from the beach and the sunsets were something we were planning to enjoy. We were not disappointed.

Wonderful location to watch the sun set. Complete with ring of the bell. Watch your day go by while you drink your special drink.

It's not the worst…read moreBeach I've ever been to, but it definitely doesn't live up to its reputation and my overall experience was underwhelming with an air of pretension. Paying for parking immediately. Set the tone, especially since there's nothing particularly special about this beach. On top of that, I didn't realize until after I paid for parking that it's not dog friendly, which feels ridiculous for such a wide open public space. Sand, I did venture out for a while and the sound was ultra fine which super annoying. The views are okay and it wasn't crowded which is nice but now I know why. Most of the people I saw were much older and were fully dressed walking on the pathway and not really utilizing the beach. There are so many beaches in Florida. I'm not sure why anyone comes here. Nothing stood out or made us want to stay or really justified all the inconveniences. This beach is just meh and if you're close by ok but definitely not worth going out of your way for.

They had the sand sculptures up and it was amazing. Truly beautiful and incredible to see in person. The beach itself is clean, well kept, and absolutely gorgeous. Parking was not too hard to find and it was reasonably priced, which is always a plus. You can also tell they really cleaned up well after the hurricane. Everything looked great and it was such a nice place to spend the day. I will always recommend this beach.
