Food was a huge disappointment. Just ordered "house made" chips and guacamole but chips were definitely store bought and not good at all tasted like tostitos. i ordered the watermelon caipirnha cocktail which said made with watermelon puree but was fake watermelon flavoring and tasted awful. my daughter got a virgin pina colada which had no flavor and tasted like blended ice. We were going to order lunch but decided against it after drinks and app. Our server was nice and friendly but when asked about authenticity of food she had no answers and showed no customer service. I am only giving this 3 stars because our waiter was very nice and the view is spectacular. The food was ok. I had a burger which was over cooked but other people enjoyed their entrees. My mom said her steak frites were best she had in some time. I would give this 1-2 stars if it was not for the above points. The hostess was absolutely terrible - we called ahead that we had a large party and they said they do not take reservations or call aheads. We arrived shortly before 6, and took us 2 hours and 45 minutes to be seated!!!! The hostess had no idea how to handle a large party. She would tell us she is saving one table and when the table next to them leaves we will get that table and push them together. The people at that table never left! And she refused to sit part of us anywhere separately. Finally after the 2 hours and 45 minutes we begged her to sit us since we had 3 older people with us, one of which was diabetic. We all needed to eat. She sat us but then refused to send a waiter over til the last 4 people had a seat who did not have room at our table! Not even for appetizers while we wait!! Luckily one of our party caught a waiter and he graciously brought a spare round table to us and we all had room! We really should have left but we took a service there and our driver had an itinerary. This place is good for small groups of maybe 2-6 folks but really... if they can't handle groups of 10+ they really need call ahead or reservations for parties larger than 10. Warm drinks, all mix no alcohol. Our food order took over an hour. We heard the bus boy tell the bartender he never put the food order in...later they bartender blamed the kitchen for "losing our ticket". Blatant lie on a bartender who clearly can not mix drinks or keep up with a Saturday crowd. Also had the personality of a wet mop. Wish we sat down the other end! That bartender was HUSTLING! To top it off, I spent the entire night sick after eating the clam strips. Not sure if they were bad or sat for a while in wrong temperatures but I will never come back to this place again. To be clear, the positive rating is for the venue. The view is great, well tended garden and lawn running down to the water. Often there is live music. The drinks are great and the staff is young and friendly. ... The food is honestly not great, it's glorified deep fried pub food. However, as long as you know that and will be made happy by the view, drinks, music, then just enjoy it. read more

Overall I think sunset grill and bar should get 1 stars because are drinks took 30 minutes to come out and are apps and main dishes came together and they took 1 hour the band sounded good and the food taste okay I think they should get more staff so they can operate at a high capacity also I felt like the waiters were lost half the time I saw a waitress giving food to the wrong table I know it happens but it was happing the whole night not just that waitress all of them also when we were trying to pay it took 1 hour for the check to come then 30 minutes for the check to come back this is why sunset bar and grill deserves a 1 star read more

Cocktails, dinner , music and dancing . What more could I ask for while on vacation at the waters edge. Great drinks, great food & great service. A real fun night! Not a fancy place , an outdoor grill so stick with simple food. Can't go wrong with Steak & frites , the skirt steak grilled perfectly and delicious . And simple Fish and chips , excellent! Music and dancing FUN! Locomotion was playing both times we were there on vacation. So much fun for the 50's + crowd like us. read more

Beautiful scenery but no idea how the food is since that would require the waitstaff to show up and take an order-then actually serve the food before it's cold-and utensils require a special request and a 30 minute wait. EVERY TIME-but it's a lovey place to walk when you give up on the idea of a meal. Don't go hungry! read more

Quality and consistency here isn't good. Although the bands and entertainment they have is nice, this spot is only good for drinks. If you're looking to get good food I'd recommend one of the local restaurants. Besides that, property is beautiful and is at a great location. read more

Gave it 2 Stars for Location & The View was beautiful! We waited 40 minutes for a table, to be expected it was the 4th of July. The food was awful. I order Fried Oyster and Fries. It was not fresh. The food was cold. The oysters were over fried and the fries look like thin potato chips. We were ask 4 times if we wanted our bill, twice while still eating. We were basically push out the table. The atmosphere is great, over looking the ocean and the area is very well landscaped so it looks nice but the food is average at best. Our waiter didn't know the difference between calamari and clam strips. It's nice to hang out and drink but don't bother going for the f. If you go when live music is playing you won't be able to talk very well, it gets loud. read more

One star for location. One for the sweet staff. The food here is awful. Flatbread is very doughy and was not interesting or flavorful despite the description. Ours had kalamata olives on it, there were about 50 whole olives that over took the taste of anything else on the flatbread. We also ordered the salmon sliders. Very big slider roll with a teeny piece of flat salmon (skin still on). When she brought over the sliders all you could see was the roll. That's how tiny the salmon was. We sent them back and the sweet waitress promptly took it off our check. On another visit i had the quinoa salad. Also very bland and uninteresting. Prices are high - quality low. Awful. I ordered a turkey wrap which was $14, was mostly lettuce and the lettuce had not been washed in mine or my friends resulting in sand/dirt in the wrap. My friend and I just left the Sunset bar at Water's Edge. We have lived here our whole lives and have been coming to the sunset bar every summer for years. I have never had the experience I just had anywhere else on the shoreline. We walked up to the bar around 430 on a Friday, and aside from one other couple, were the only customers at the bar. Neither one of the bartenders said hello or even acknowledged our presence. We sat there for about 5 minutes and still nothing. By this time a few other groups of people had come up to the bar, and were immediately greeted by the bartenders, given menus and ordered drinks. Meanwhile, my friend and I still had not been acknowledged. After another few minutes of no acknowledgment, we ended up leaving and going elsewhere. read more
