First off, let me say I'm one of those who has that inherent fear of dentists and is always hesitant about seeing one. While at the airport waiting to fly out to visit family for Christmas I broke a molar while eating breakfast. Needless to say, it wasn't the most pleasant Christmas I had and trying to find a dentist I could visit once I returned home was daunting because of the holidays but thankfully I managed to finally get an appointment with Sunset Dental. I was seen by Dr. Redlinger and was greatly taken care of by him and his staff. They worked with me to take care of my broken tooth and while root canals are no one's definition of fun, they made sure that I was comfortable and to let them know if I was feeling any pain or needed a break. Overall I am happy to find this office and look forward to going to Dr. Redlinger and have him and his staff take care of my dental needs. read more

When in person before appointment to turn in all insurance work was sent this long complicated paperwork to fill out completely then called and said oh your insurance doesn't work. Like they didn't already have a week to figure that out before they sent me a huge packet of paper to fill out, it's a waste of my time completely rude and I would never recommend them to anybody. read more

I recently became covered by medicare. I have the advantage plan through united health care, and am covered for dental care. I chose sunset dental due to the proximity of my home. The first visit i was told that I needed a crown which I agreed to. The Dr also recommended a deep clean, which i declined due to the high cost, and only wanted the standard included semi annual cleaning. I had an appointment for this cleaning today, and was told that since the Dr prescribed a deep clean only; I would be responsible for many hundreds of dollars. I told staff that I had an appointment for a regular cleaning only, but since the Dr prescribed a deep clean that was all I could get. I couldn't even have a regular cleaning because the insurance company had been notified that I needed a deep cleaning. I contacted the insurance company who did a three way call with the dental office, and was given the same explanation. The insurance company said that I could simply go to another dentist and there is no issue with my coverage. THIS IS A CLEAR CUT CASE OF BAIT AND SWITCH TRYING TO BE PERPERTRED AGAINST A SENIOR CITIZEN. I have already filed a complaint with the Nevada board of dentistry. read more

I've been a patient at Sunset Dental & Orthodontics for 3+ years. I just went in for my 6-month cleaning, and it was my first time being cared for by Ashley. Ashley was absolutely amazing! She was very kind, and I appreciated the tips & tricks she curated for me based on my own lifestyle, habits, and areas for improvement! She recommended me a specific type of toothbrush she swears by. She also recommended a couple of different products to help open my nasal passages since I suffer from a deviated septum. I've always had trouble breathing through my mouth and snoring at night. She noticed I had some swelling and gum sensitivity around my upper front teeth, and I mentioned I didn't have any luck with nasal strips in the past. I ordered some nasal cones based on her suggestion and I absolutely love wearing them so far! I can breathe so much better. I can't wait to try these while I sleep, as well as during the workday while at home. They're pretty discreet. It's clear Ashley is passionate about her job and caring for her patients. Not recommended. The woman who works in the back, not nice. I tried to reschedule my teeth cleaning and she gave me next available appointment is in 4 months, i told her i would keep my original appointment and she said it's been filled, no longer available. I tried to call them an hour prior and the answering machine told me to call back during business hours and yet they canceled my appointment. The doctor and care was fine, the only problem was that woman who works in the back, she wasn't friendly either. read more

My wife developed a gum infection, couldn't fit her partials in because of excruciating pain. Saturday morning she started calling around, and Sunset Dental squeezed her in within a few hours. Dr. Leslie Kotier took x-rays, examined her thoroughly, explained what was going on and prescribed meds and mouthwash. Within 5 days she was back to normal. From the reception to the exit everybody was warm, welcoming, and caring. She's extremely grateful for a dental practice like this and would highly recommend Sunset Dental. read more

I am a new patient scheduled for a cleaning, my insurance covers full cleaning my x-rays and visit. at the time for scheduling my cleaning appointment she came up with all these extra fees and additional work, she refused to schedule my cleaning appointment. I've been to many dentists in my life, in New York, and here in Henderson/Las Vegas. This place is wonderful!!!! The staff is very nice, friendly, and immediately makes you feel at ease. If i could give no star I would, the doctor Rana Faranesh had a procedure unnecessary in my tooth, she said I had a cavity under the crown, so she said I would need to remove the crown and make a new one , although when I asked if it was big she said I couldn't say, I said NO, but she insisted so much and I agree, She was so aggressive that I had a black and swallow face for a week and pain for 15 days when I went back and she said that I would need a root canal , so the 800 went to 2000... I did because of the pain, improved the pain but I still had it, went back many times, she redo the root canal and did not work, went to 2 more specialists and now in 2025 I STILL HAVE PAIN , they have no idea why. Besides this I schedule a cleaning and they said I needed a deep cleaning, I agree but it was 300 + so I decided not to do it and they said I could not have a simple one which was free with my insurance, so I did it, do I need tell that I had problems after ? Not going to specify here but ... one after another bad experience... although the office people is very nice ! Came in for a consultation for my son for phase 2 of his braces. Dr. Kate and Ana were very nice and helpful. They both explained what the process was and how/what treatments would be made to give my son the perfect smile. They also gave and explained payment options and are more than willing to accommodate with payment arrangements, as we all know that braces aren't cheap. The office is clean and accommodating with a restroom and chairs/sofa in the waiting area. Definitely recommend this dental office. read more

I woke up with a tooth ache and am new to Nevada so I didn't have a dentist. I called because they had emergency appointments and the receptionist was so nice and helpful, she said they could work me in if I didn't mind waiting. I was thankful that they saw me the same day and I got my tooth taken care of so I could get back to work the next day. The dentist and everyone else that helped me that day were also very kind and helpful. I need more work done and I will be going back to Sunset. read more

I took my mom their for route canal and deep cleaning and after they charged us $2100 for a route canal the lady at the front desk said she would put in a deep cleaning for free. Highly recommended! The staff here is amazing! Professional, clean, super duper friendly, honest and so caring to their patients. It's not very often you find a staff like this. Came in for a root canal for my husband. Cost us $366 to be told he didn't need a root canal. We paid $250 for an X-ray before we left the office and a few weeks later we received another bill for $116 for the consultation. The $250 should have been enough and should have been included the interpretation of the X-ray. Needless to say, paying $366 for nothing was ridiculous! read more

Made an appointment for a denture consultation. Showed up to my appointment 30 minutes early to fill out new patient forms. Unbelievably I sat in the waiting room until closing while other patients who came in before and after me were. Mind you they were sure to take payment upon arrival though. Receptionist told me due to short staffing, which I am sympathetic to as I work in retail, but why take payment then? With my work schedule (and short staffing) I wasn't able to reschedule so when I asked for a refund she said they'd work with me to reschedule instead. Went there and had dental work done and my portion was over $2,000 so I got dental credit card and am paying off over 2 years. I went back 6 months to have something else done and had to pay again even though my insurance coverage is $3000. I did pay and now can't get refund for overpayment and nobody will return my calls. I hope they are happy keeping my money cause now I changed Doctors and am sure they will be losing out on more than just my refund. Wish I had read all the bad reviews before I went there. Hello, I don't usually leave reviews. My experience here was really excellent. I am a confirmed total dental chicken! Which is embarrassing at 64 years of age, but there it is! The staff are very friendly and helpful, the facility is clean and the equipment is up to date. Dr. Rana Faranesh was quick, very competent and maybe best of all showed a true caring nature for the patient. I had a large molar removed and another tooth closer to the front. The shots were very well done, they waited until I was completely numb, tested to make sure and then quickly proceeded. I have heart and kidney disease due to the prescriptions I take even simple medical procedures can be a problem. Dr. Faranesh not only listened to my particular concerns she very professionally took care of them. I highly recommend this dental office. Thank you sincerely Dr. and staff. read more

We had my husband's appointment scheduled months in advance. They called and told me they could not accommodate then asked if we could reschedule a month out. Mistakes happened so I did. He gets to his rescheduled appointment and they say there isn't a hygienist available. He has to reschedule and take off work to make the new appointment. Today it's four days before my appointment and I get a text message telling me my appointment has been canceled. I immediately call and ask why. Because there's a 48 hour cancellation policy and it's a holiday tomorrow. So I say well the appointment is in four days and I had this scheduled months in advance. I immediately called back when I got the notification, please put me back on the schedule, I am met with the most condescending response about their policy. Even though mind you their policy is "48 hours" and I called 4 days before my appointment. I even asked why they can't just put me back on the schedule since I immediately called back. To be told the hygienist won't be there. Please take your business anywhere else they do not honor their appointments and are very rude. The only appointments that have ever worked out they always text and ask me to come in at a different time. Please get a new schedule/office manager because I've never dealt with an office not being able to accommodate their appointments and speaking to me in a condescending manner as if I don't understand a 48 hour cancellation policy when we are four days away from said appointment. read more

Unfortunately, my experience here was terrible. A couple years ago I came in for two crowns. At 45 years old it was the first time I had any dental work done beyond a few fillings. The process took a long time because the assiatant had to keep trying 4-5 times to get a proper impression of my teeth. It was ridiculous. Then several times gluing on the temporary crowns then prying them off because it wasn't on correctly. Then the dentist recommended that I let her make my slightly chipped front tooth "perfect". I didn't think it was that bad but after some persuasion I agreed. Big mistake. She actually made the barely noticeable chip in to something that was very noticeable so she could place a filling on it. If I had known she was going to make my tooth worse I would have never agreed to do it. Well as you could probably guess when the permanent crowns came they were not fitted correctly. She had to keep filing them down and trying to make them fit. They didnt. Since my appointment the teeth above the crown are worn down and misshapen because of the bad fit. Even after all that I still didn't write a bad review. I just decided that I wouldn't go back there anymore and I didnt...until today. The filling on the front tooth chipped off, I bit my nail so it was my fault I suppose. Being in a jam I needed to get it fixed because having a big chip on my front tooth looks terrible. Since they were the last dentist I'd gone to I went there thinking they couldn't screw up a simple filling. Even if it was only temporary until I could get into another dentist office that I felt comfortable with. NOPE! Instead of doing the work that the previous dentist did they REFUSED TO GIVE ME A FILLING and told me they would ONLY do a crown which I presume would be 10x the cost of a filling. I even said I'd pay cash and sign a waiver if necessary I just didn't want to go to work with a chipped tooth. Guess $101 for the filling wasn't good enough. I will never reccomend this place to anyone. read more

I really like this dental office. They're very transparent with how much any kind of work will cost and offer different ways to pay. I had a filling done today by Dr. Hall and I'm so grateful I went here. Not only is he personable and funny, but he's very gentle and takes you seriously when you tell him there's discomfort and will get to the root of the issue and make sure you're comfortable before continuing. Office staff is great and very friendly and patient. One thing I find a little annoying is that they blow up my phone with emails, texts, and calls about my appointments even after I've confirmed. Called for appointment for root canal and gold crown. i was being pushed to pay $119 for a dental discount plan. I was told that exams would be $10 if I sign up, and other discounts up to to 75% Cynthia the receptionist refused to tell me what the price of a root canal is, or the crown. I set the appointment. I researched the plan, and found that it has automated billing and re-newal. Cancellation requires request in writing. I decided not to entangle myself in all that auto-billing crap. I research what dental plans are, and WHY dentists use them. As it turns out, they are used as a lead generating system to get new patients. Dentists agree to certain prices, in order to show up on lists of participating dentists, and thus draw in new customers. Something kind of wrong here with the aggressive pushing new customers to sign up for the discount plan. I have to wonder if the dental office is getting kick backs for every sale of a plan. I also have to conclude they are not up front and honest about prices. I show up at appointment for exam only. The actual appointments would need to happen later. cynthia demands for me to pay for the discount plan, and I decline. I had visited their website and they have an offer that states: do you have an emergency or are a new patient? we offer free exam and x-rays for youre convenience. Cynthia and other receptionist tell me if I dont buy the discount plan, I will need to pay $891 for the exam.(a lie) I decline, and ask what about the free exam on their website. I was told it is some other make believe sunset dental down the road.(another lie) I get home, visit website again, and confirm the street address and phone number were correct. I was correct. I argue with cynthia some more about the stupid discount plan. She offers to make appointment for $75 that is on their website. I decline, and request the free exam in the second banner. Cynthia also lies and tells me that I need to pay the $75 for a scheduling fee.(another nonsense lie) She asks if I want to talk to a manager, then puts me on hold, with intention of not having manager talk to me. No manager is going to come to phone. Just a brush off. so many lies and game playing. Just need to get my tooth restored, and looking to pay a fair price. after looking at some of the other reviews here, it appears the quality of work is shoddy, and lots of billing problems and games. Guess it is time to just say NEXT!! By the way isnt it sort of funny that an orthodontics place that specializes in orthodontics only has an orthodontist that shows up only on Thursdays? Here is some other shady crap that appears on their website on the button for making an appointment. Huh? oh and cynthia lies and states that all a person needs to do in order to cancel the plan membership is to call. Nope. Plan website states written request is required. Then what happens if that written request or call is ignored? Automatic billing on credit card, and endless disputes and hassels with credit card company and the "plan". Are real discounts even obtained by customers? Probably not. This is a very dis-honest business. I can not recommend them. read more

I just left here and they are all very professional, and very sweet they all really make sure that your whole mouth and teeth is all very well taken care of and looks great, they care about your all well being and overall heath of your teeth. The beautiful women who did my cleaning was really gentle and gave me a lot of information about my teeth and how it looks and the practices on what to do going forward to prevent anything worse from happening.
