We were seated and waited on immediately. Since it was 3:00 in the afternoon it wasn't very full but shortly after we ordered a 12 top, 5 top and two 2 tops came in. Soup and salad came quickly. I hadn't finished my salad and the main course made its way to our table. I had the chicken fried steak (removed grotesque canned side of veg-all cuz I didn't want that juice on my edible food). My husband had the pork tenderloin dinner. My meal also came with a huge bowl of tapioca pudding. Food was plentiful!! Taste was meh at best. So if you want to get ridiculously full for very little money and don't care what you are putting in your mouth this is the place for you. Nice family diner atmosphere. They were very busy the Saturday morning we visited but we were not as impressed as much as we usually are in other small town bfast places. We had an omelette that was very dry as it was cooked on a griddle too long. The taste was a bit off like the eggs were put down where something else had been. Usually I have no problems here, but today has me so angry that I am seeing red! A friend and I met on our lunch breaks and after an hour, still did not have our food!! I ordered half an order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs. He ordered 3 eggs, ham and toast. The only thing we DID receive was our appetizer. I had to get back to work so we asked for our food to go and then said we just wanted to cancel it. They wouldn't cancel the order..,charged me FULL PRICE ($30) for a meal we didn't get to enjoy and said "well, I did take the one pop off the bill." My friend got home to find out that his whole meal wasn't even in the box!! My eggs were rubbery and overdone as if they had been under the heat lamp for far too long and the gravy had turned dark. Now I am out $30 and didn't get to share lunch with my friend and the food we did end up getting was way below the normal standards we are used to from this establishment. read more

Lunch stop here the other day... great service and delicious food!!!! We were looking for some good food and found it here for sure!!! We ordered 2 skillets and I had an omelet. The food did not disappoint at all. My wife's skillet was huge and she was only able to eat about a 3rd of her food. Manchester lacks a nice place for dinner if you are looking for a more upscale restaurant for an evening out. However, you can find all-day dining here with a surprising Saturday evening prime rib dinner special. The ambiance is simple. You won't find it a relaxing or special evening place. But service is quick and friendly. The prime rib special is a find. $15.95 for a 16 oz serving. Two of our group ordered it and both serving were approximately 1" thick! With included sides this is a very reasonably priced and tasty meal. Stop here. Don't expect elegant dining, just inexpensive, good food. read more

Stopped in for lunch. As far as old fashioned diners go, it's a hit. Nothing fancy, but the good is good and the prices are great.

After a bad experience at another place in this town we tried here. The older lady that waited our table was very sweet. I tried the grilled walleye. Being on the keto diet this seemed like the only option. It came to the table and looked breaded. She assured me that it was not. I guess that i will know later but it was nothing short of amazing!!!! Light but flavorful and cooked to perfection. If you are in the area try the walleye. The manager was rude when we sat down and was hateful when we ordered our drinks. We only get 1 refill and some of us didnt even get our refill, been sitting here 10 min waiting on it. The food tastes weird, omelet smells like dirt and had a bad tasting, the fries tasted like fish sticks. The vegetables tasted like a off brand can food. First off this place has great prices. I am used to 2-4 dollars more for some of these meals in the Madison area. Good service and plenty of tables to sit at. The food was good but could have been better. I wasn't complaining because the food was good enough and of good proportions. The fries and soup were quite good. The bathroom was very old and had a lot of gunk in the nooks and crannies which is a big issue for me. It was clean but I can never understand why a place doesn't take time to update a few things and clean up the grout and stuff in the bathrooms. It always makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is. If they cleaned up the bathroom and raised the bar a little on the entrees they could really be a terrific place. read more

We usually stop by on a weekday. Food is reasonably priced & very good. Big portions. Service is friendly. We stopped on a Sunday. Mostly HS kids working. Forgot to bring things asked for such as ranch. Had to ask for refill on drinks. Our entree was supposed to come with a dessert of which we didnt recieve. I was in town on business and was looking for some good ole home cooking. I ordered the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans. Results meatloaf was full of filler like eating cardboard green beans from a can no flavor and mashed potatoes are instant. Chocolate cream pie came from Walmart. The breakfast menu is decent but most everything else is just mediocre. What surprises me most is the lack of anything being homemade. A prime example is meatloaf, such an easy thing to make and yet there's is obviously it's some prepared frozen product that is really bad. Great potential of they'd just make things fresh. read more

Everything we had was out of a can or box. Nothing was fresh or home made. The salad was just iceberg lettuce chopped in large pieces with maybe a thin carrot or two. The best part of our meal were the fries. I would say they have good prices, but the food was very tasteless. Would save my money and go somewhere that has REAL food. read more

Disappointed. We stopped in for their Sunday breakfast buffet. The dining area needed a good cleaning and some repairs. The wait staff seemed to outnumber the customers and yet it took 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee and a glass of water. We were never offered a coffee refill. The buffet offered fruit that was mostly canned (even though several fruits were in season locally). The bacon tasted rancid, the sausage was spongey. The eggs however, were quite good and not overcooked. The biscuits appeared to have been frozen by their uniform appearance. The food is boxed and premade. There is one really good waitress otherwise service is not good. The owners are very shady.

Had the ribeye sandwich and fries and while it wasn't quite a sandwich it was delicious. It consisted of a lovely ribeye ad big as my son's head that was perfectly prepared resting atop 2 pieces of toast and accompanied by a nice portion of crispy delicious fries. Not bad. Some of the food is flavorless, some of the food is fantastic, you just have to find your niche. Personally, I find the french dips and the burgers to be good. Service is overall friendly and prices are very reasonable. A good "comfort food" restaurant. read more
