    Grouper sandwich.
    Kristen N.

I love this place and eat here regularly. Last night I had the fried grouper sandwich with wine and an amazing sunset view on the patio. Totally worth the $20. Service was spot on and food cooked right. Such a good place to eat. PS they don't serve the amazing sushi nachos anymore--very heartbroken!

    Garlic Shrimp over rice

We ordered our food to go so no review on service. Just strictly the food. I ordered the garlic shrimp over rice. I didn't taste any garlic. The shrimp didn't have any seasoning. This dish was so bland. My husband got Walle fish with the rice and potato casserole. Again, very bland on the fish and rice. They recommend house seasoning but should have probably done Cajun, but have to pay an extra $2 for flavoring I guess. The potato casserole wasn't impressive at all. It wasn't bad but didn't make me want to eat anymore. Tasted reheated maybe? We spent $40 on dinner and now going to get something else.

    Not much and gross.

The food what terrible. I had the shrimp Alfredo which was noodles. Cold. With cheese dip and 4 shrimp idk how it could be worse. I know I came in late and was close to closing time but I'll never make this mistake again.

We came into town kind of late and this was the only place open till 9 PM on a Friday. I also saw that this was on the lake in Hot Springs Village. We didn't realize until we got there that this is a gated community, they did make it difficult to get in. We had to call the restaurant and have them give the gate attendee an access code. That was a little awkward but overall it was relatively easy to get in. We ended up ordering the garlic, roasted shrimp, which was served in a garlic cream sauce over mashed potatoes. We also got a side of baked potato casserole and fried okra. I also got to try a cup of their gumbo, which was nice because we sat out on the patio to watch the sunset over the lake. Overall decent food and a killer view!

Salad with grilled chicken and seafood gumbo! Amazing!

This was an amazing resteraunt with great views of the water inside or outside on the deck. Our waitress was amazing! There were multiple seafood options and the gumbo was to die for!! Will definitely be going back!

Our first visit to Sunset Grill in HSV We are foodies if you will and have done many soft openings and been to many top restaurants. expectations were high. Arrived at 10.50am. My wife and I were seating after 10top. The place has a great look and feel. Nice, warm, and fits the location on the lake. We were met by Susan one of the hostesses. She had a great smile, very professional, welcomed us to the place. She seemed happy to be there. We were then greeted almost immediately by our waitress Jennifer. Again very warm, welcoming and nice. We quickly had our drinks. ordered two appetizers. We don't usually order as much food as we did but wanted to try some more things. Apps were out and we were the first ones to get food. Apps. Sriracha fries - delicious. Just enough kick to them, not over powering. Ahi tuna nachos - I felt this was the best dish. Wow. Amazing. Won tons cooked perfectly, good meat portion, slaw was good, and the sauce was amazing. Waitress was very nice and attentive with refills etc. Main. -Roasted garlic shrimp. Was just delicious. The sauce was perfect. Shrimp cooked perfectly and potatoes great. Another great dish that I likely will repeat. -Monterrey chicken, baked potato casserole, green beans, sweet potato casserole. Chicken was cooked to perfection, still juicy and tasty. Potatoes were very good. Sweet potato casserole was perfect. Green beans fresh, seasoned perfectly, slightly crispy. Great Dessert...Had the lemon blueberry crumble. wonderful. Overall great experience. Adrian, manager, came around checking on us, with a note pad asking for detailed feedback on each dish, really wanting good/ bad. Means a lot, they care and want to get this right. She was so sweet and welcoming. Felt like a hometown family place. The 10 too seated first were well cared for. Lastly and maybe the best. The "bus old man" aka Bob was the best bus boy ever. Awesome gentleman.

Good food, good service, awesome view. Then, despite dining on deck during happy hour can't be beat.

Not sure why as didn't complain to anybody to get an explanation. Food was decent. Read someone's review about chowder being watery. They either fixed it or had a bad batch. It was good and thick. The crab bisque was no good. Just weird tasting and can't explain how. Had trigger fish which got charged for dinner when we were at lunch and didn't know. It was good the lemon jerk was a nice flavor. The butter potatoes enjoyed and is swimming in it but liked it. The mango cole slaw was just ok. Wouldn't do it again. The crab was crab, not bad. Still was expecting it to be worse as seems like a tourist spot. But not bad. The chocolate mousse thing was great and not too rich as finished the whole thing :)

When we arrived, we requested a table by the front window so we could be away from the walkway where dogs pass through the restaurant. The hostess told us she would do her best to accommodate our request after about a 45-minute wait. When our table was ready, another hostess, Alley, seated us at the back of the restaurant instead. When my mother pointed out that the front window table was still empty, Alley told us it was reserved for an interview. Later, I walked by and saw that same table occupied by another party. When I questioned Alley, her explanation suddenly changed to "confusion." To make matters worse, the manager, John, later confirmed there was no interview taking place that evening. We were given multiple, inconsistent explanations for why we couldn't have the table we requested. As African American customers, it was troubling to be told the table was unavailable, only to later see a white party seated there after we had been told it was reserved. I cannot say why that happened, but I can say it left us questioning whether we were treated fairly. What disappointed me even more was management's response. Rather than acknowledging our concerns, John repeatedly defended the hostess and offered different explanations instead of simply apologizing. Although our meal was eventually comped, neither Alley nor John apologized for what happened. I later emailed management describing the incident in detail and never received a response. Ignoring a customer after an experience like this only reinforces the impression that our concerns were not taken seriously. Customer service begins long before the food reaches the table. Honesty, respect, and accountability matter. Unfortunately, we did not receive those that evening. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We get seated and order drinks, which were the best part of this experience, but also when we got the first of a pattern of bad news. They were out of the blackberries in one of their signature cocktails. We subbed in blueberry and went to order mains. They were out of the duck beast, so I went with the lobster Mac and cheese. The princess ordered salmon and whipped potatoes. You may notice that her plate didn't have potatoes. That's because they ran out of those too, on a very slow Friday night. It took about 45 mins to get our food and in that time our waitress never topped up our water or asked if we wanted another cocktail, which we would have gotten if she did. The food came out and I realized why it took so long. The lobster was broiled so hard it was stringy and dry It was almost impossible to get out of the shell. After about half of a half of tail I decided it wasn't worth it and waited until I got home where I could do it in a more uncivilized manor. The sauce was fantastic, although the pasta was cooked until it was mush sadly. The salmon was dramatically over cooked as well. It was greatly past well done in order to get the crust on both sides of the fish, instead of just the presentation side. There is a reason culinary school teaches it that way... It was too dry for her to eat more than half, even with the sauce. The whole meal was a disappointment. We heard another couple order dessert, and guess what? They were out of cheesecake too. This place won't be open much longer and I see now why it was empty during a prime dining time.
