The restaurant is located at the corner of King Rd and Keele St. Parking was easy as you can park on the street in front of the restaurant (ofc if it is not packed) and there is also a parking lot on the other side of the road. The historic restaurant used to be an inn, now there are lots of seating with separate indoor dining areas and a lovely outdoor patio upstairs. They also have a pub downstairs with more outdoor seating. You can see a nice view of the corner street, pub outdoor seating, and the railway from the upstairs patio. We were fortunate to have a very kind and attentive server that evening. His well mannered service added to the pleasant dining experience. We ordered the Wild Mushroom salad, Herb Crusted Ontario Rack of Lambs ($59) and Chilean Sea Bass ($58). The lamb and sea bass were cooked exactly how we expected, with the sea bass especially crispy outside and soft inside. We felt the dishes were a bit pricey and could be improved like the sauce texture but overall there was plentiful portions and delicious. We enjoyed the Sea Bass and the dish's complement to it, so recommended if you want to splurge a lil! (They do have other variety on the menu to choose from.) We'll definitely keep this gem King City restaurant in mind for future trips coming from north and near GTA.

Very unique in that it's run out of a century house. There's a sign to use the side door, which you can get a taste of the interior decoration. I ordered almost immediately since there was no line, although there were many patrons already seated and some who had just ordered. While waiting, I sat down at an available table, and noticed that there is also a back patio where you can sit as well. Even though I ordered for takeout, the staff brought my latte over to me. They did forget to bring my carrot cake with it, so I did have to ask for it as I was leaving, but they were apologetic about it. The carrot cake was really good! I found the coconut flakes topping a bit overwhelming, but that could be just because I'm not a huge fan of coconut. There's free street parking: however depending on how busy it is, you may need to find a street to turn on to find it on the opposite side (which happened to me today).

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

I mean all brunch places are pretty expensive now... Portions were HUGE!! I got the hot tiramisu latte although iced was recommended. It came with the donut top and a finger lady. It was pretty delicious. Also got the strawberry smoothie which came in a plastic cup, so I guess it's more meant for kids. The wedges were a bit soft though.. I wish it was a bit more crispy. I would say it's more asian fusion than your typical western style brunch restaurants. I think it's worth trying if you're in the area.

BUT they were serving our drinks(water and coffee) in paper cups! We saw others in the restaurant that ordered hot and cold beverages and they got take out cups for their drinks. While this doesn't really ruin the tase, it does ruin the vibe and atmosphere.

The vibe inside is cozy and relaxed with a modern café-bistro feel. It's bright, welcoming, and definitely lives up to the name "Chillax." It feels like the kind of place you can sit and enjoy a slow brunch or a casual dinner without feeling rushed. For brunch, two dishes really stood out. The braised pork eggs Benedict was fantastic. The pork was tender and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the creamy hollandaise and poached eggs. The gochujang fried chicken brioche burger was another highlight. The chicken was crispy with just the right amount of spice, and the soft brioche bun tied everything together. We also came back for dinner and tried the seafood paella, which was rich, comforting, and packed with seafood. It's definitely a great dish to share. For drinks, the cheesy mango ice matcha was surprisingly good. The mango adds sweetness while the cheese foam makes it creamy and indulgent. A really unique combination that works well. Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, with most dishes around the $20-$30 range. Overall, it's a great spot for brunch, dinner, or just drinks. I invited my friend to choose an appetizer and she chose polenta. The portion was very large and more suitable for 5 people than 2. If we had finished it, it would have been a full meal! It was good with the dipping sauce but more on the mediocre side. My friend ordered the baby back ribs which came with a generous salad. She had to ask them to be reheated which they did promptly. She did enjoy them. I tasted the salad which was good but was not impressed with the bread crumb topping. Salad should be salad and healthy without any distractions! I had the salmon which came with chicory but the chicory was so chewy that it was impossible to break it down. I told our pleasant server that I was unable to eat it and she brought me a generous rapini side which was much better. I got the Cacio Pepe which was their special that day... and there was basically no pepper, a bit of parm on top and the sauce was super watery. There's also suppose to be guanciale in it but I saw maybe 3 small pieces. I also added chicken to the dish which was cold chunks of chicken breast. I was so sad with my pasta . I don't think all the food is bad but avoid the pasta. They had great drinks. We got a orange rosemary Moscow mule which was delicious.
