I recently visited Chillax & Co. and had such a great experience. The restaurant is located right along the busy Yonge Street strip in Richmond Hill, surrounded by plenty of shops, cafés, and plazas, so it's an easy stop whether you're meeting friends or just exploring the area. The vibe inside is cozy and relaxed with a modern café-bistro feel. It's bright, welcoming, and definitely lives up to the name "Chillax." It feels like the kind of place you can sit and enjoy a slow brunch or a casual dinner without feeling rushed. For brunch, two dishes really stood out. The braised pork eggs Benedict was fantastic. The pork was tender and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the creamy hollandaise and poached eggs. The gochujang fried chicken brioche burger was another highlight. The chicken was crispy with just the right amount of spice, and the soft brioche bun tied everything together. We also came back for dinner and tried the seafood paella, which was rich, comforting, and packed with seafood. It's definitely a great dish to share. For drinks, the cheesy mango ice matcha was surprisingly good. The mango adds sweetness while the cheese foam makes it creamy and indulgent. A really unique combination that works well. Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, with most dishes around the $20-$30 range. Overall, it's a great spot for brunch, dinner, or just drinks. Met with friends for a late birthday catch-up. We order the salmon salad bowl and the laksa with seafood for sharing with an addition of an order of baguette. An order of soft serve matcha and tiramisu-choux. Beverages were a kumquat-berry fizz and mint (something) fizz and glass of house red. The food was exquisite and amazing. The laksa was beautiful in flavor. The service was so fast, the food came out quickly and the service was friendly, helpful with recommendations. Really hidden gem. If you are in the neighborhood, should check it out Oh the actual ambiance and space is gorgeous built around a beautiful bar, surrounded by black window accents against exposed brick. One of our go to brunch locations. Very comfortable setting for small and large parties. Don't feel the pressure to order, eat and leave quickly. Can truly enjoy our meal and catch up with friends, enjoy the date, or share food. Compared to other brunch restaurants, the wide variety in the menu ensures something for everyone. Asian inspired flavour for diverse audiences, as well as classic Benedicts, burgers, and breakfast platters for traditional diners. Also ample drink options. Perhaps not specializing in any particular items leads to their flavours not being particularly outstanding and memorable. But it's still good portions, flavours and options to keep us coming back. Prosciutto eggs Benedict was as expected - my favourite part was the dressing for the side salad and the home fries. The pancakes could've been fluffier or had more fruits, but I appreciate the syrup and not being over dressed with cream. The ramen isnt comparable to an authentic Japanese ramen shop, but it's better than some ramen franchises with a hearty broth and good ingredients , hitting the ramen craving. There's a teddy bear chilling on the waiting bench. There are a few stalls and there is a handicap stall. I went early so it was clean Service - 5/5: service was good. As I went early, I could choose where I wanted to sit as it is 1st come 1st serve basis. I told the waiter that there are 2 pregnant women in the group. He gave us a very spacious seat, for which I'm grateful. The seating limit is 1hr 45mins on weekends. They didnt ask us to leave unless there were no other seats available. They checked on us frequently. Food - 5/5: we got chicken and waffles, smoked salmon eggs benedict, and chashu tonkatsu ramen along with drinks - traditional iced thai milk tea, hot chocolate and one of the coffees. This spot has quite an eclectic style and is pretty spacious inside. Service was attentive - the staff patiently answered all my questions about the dishes. Pulled-Pork Taco: Was very meaty. The sour cream really enhanced the pork's flavor, while the bell peppers added a nice crunch. It was a well-balanced combination of flavors. Angus Beef Burger Sliders: You could really taste the beef patty itself since the burger wasn't very flavorful except for the pickle, which was good and bad - good because the beef flavor really stood out, but bad because there weren't any other memorable elements to the burger. Fried Chicken Cartilage: It was basically like chicken karaage but with bones inside. It was okay, but would've been better with pure chicken chunk without the kneecap part - personal preference though. Overall, it was a nice dining experience. My friend and I popped into Chillax and Co on a frigid Sunday morning for brunch.. We figured there will some wait and added our name to the waitlist (second) but was pleasantly surprised when were seated right away, in a busy restaurant. These guys are efficient and they turn tables FAST! You are required to order food and drinks on the app off the QR code - although I am sure the servers are available to help. I placed my order a couple mins before my friend and my drink was out before she hit submit. Unfortunately, there was a mistake with the app and her order was registered twice (user error or app, unsure). We caught it right away and alerted the staff, but two cappuccinos came out before it could be fixed - told you, EFFICIENT! One of the managers (assuming) came out to check on what happened and he really didn't seem pleased. When you let guests control things through an app, mistakes are bound to happen. Overall the food tasted great. The shrimp cake benedict was quite rich, but absolutely delicious. I had the omlet, which came with a side salad and it was nice and light which still being wonderfully flavourful. Cute decor inside with some greenery along the ceiling to have the feeling of a greenhouse. Service 4/5 It's usually busy so I recommend booking a table on their Google reservation ahead of time. The servers are attentive in cleanup and replenishing water as you scan a QR code for ordering. They do have physical menus on site as well. Food takes around 10-15 minutes to arrive usually. You can also have all items made/brought out at once if you want a starter to accompany an entree. Food 4/5 Amazing options. I have to go back for their brunch again but I do have pictures of dinner service items. The steak was a little bit on the dry side, but the sauces and the butter made up for it. The seafood skillet for 2 had lots of seafood but the rice was a little bit too soggy as I was hoping the edges would be crispy. The smoke salmon avocado salad was perfect, the cashews and raisins mixed in complemented the whole salad. Overall I enjoyed the flavors and taste, especially the mussels. Unique brunch menu with relaxing ambiance. My fiancée and I quite enjoy coming this brunch location. Compared to most brunch cafes in York Region, this location for Chillax & Co offers plentiful parking. What we love most is the abundance of large windows on the 3 walls - the restaurant will feel bright, comfy, and open. The tables are spaced out quite well, and we don't have to hear the conversation from the couple beside us. Chillax & Co offers a variety of items, from Eggs Benedict to Ramen to Salads to Omelettes to Classic Breakfast to Smoothies to Juices to Coffees. There definitely is something for everyone here. This time around, I ordered the Shrimp Cake Eggs Benedict with a Iced Black Sugar Coconut Latte and my fiancée ordered the Laksa Curry Noodle Soup with a French Vanilla Latte. I will say, her selections were definitely better than mine. The Laksa Curry Noodle Soup had decent flavour. The broth wasn't overpowering and the noodles were cooked well. It was slightly disappointing to see the preview on the menu with seafood, only for us to realize seafood was a +3.99 option. Nevertheless, it's definitely a hearty bowl of noodles for a cold winter day. The Shrimp Cake Eggs Benedict sounds better than it actually is - while the guacamole coupled with the dill & tartar sauce helped to lift the shrimp cake, the actual patty was a bit too dense for my liking. If they could make it fluffier and lighter, I think the dish would actually come together quite nicely. Definitely some of better home fries in the area (i.e. not burnt). We loved how the menu lets you order the drinks either cold, hot, or extra hot - the latter being helpful as we munched away at our food. No complaints about the French Vanilla Latte, which was a solid option as always. Not too sweet, and not too bitter. I wish I did ask our waiter how popular the Iced Black Sugar Coconut Latte was before trying it. I can't put my finger on it, but I can say it definitely did not taste of coconut while the espresso had a slight burnt tinge to it. I wouldn't say it's necessarily bad, but also preferably wouldn't get it again. We've been here a couple of times because we enjoy the coziness of the restaurant. A really comfy spot. We came for dinner which is not as typical as what they're known for (brunch). The dinner menu actually had a good variety of items - steaks to pastas to seafood rice etc. when you enter, it's cafe like - wood benches but with a nice modern twist. We were a group of 7 - 2 toddlers, 1 infant and 4 adults. There was actually a small selection of 3 items on their kids menu. We ended up sharing our food with them but it was a nice touch. We ordered the seafood with rice (for 2) and then the pork jowl ramen. The seafood on rice was almost like a paella (they didn't call it that). A wonderful portion of seafood (not just 2 shrimps and mussels in rice) on a bed of al dente rice. The flavours were well done and we enjoyed it very much not to mention the presentation was wonderful. The ramen was average. The broth was good but we thought the noodles were a little either overcooked or just a little less chewy than expected. Good egg and a few slices of meat. We also ordered for dessert (seasonal item) a matcha ice cream. I think the menu said it was organic. It's a bit more bitter than your usual matcha ice cream (because they put ample matcha in it!!) and a couple of mochi on the side and some I think kinako jelly at the bottom. I absolutely loved it. The Prete's beautiful as well. Kids didn't like it because maybe it was too authentic. More for me. Dined in here for dinner quite a few times in the last year and felt like the dining experience has improved a lot. The restaurant and staff are very accommodating with our baby, such as needing a bit more space to fit our stroller or fulfilling a custom order for our baby. The chefs were super friendly and accommodating. The food had been unique and delicious. Ordered various things this past year including the Lobster Bisque, Risotto ai Funghi, Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Salmon, and 24-Hour Sous-Vide Barbecue Pork Ribs. The Lobster Bisque and Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Salmon are my go-to every time; they're a must try. The 24-Hour Sous-Vide Barbecue Pork Ribs is worth trying too because the ribs are really flavourful. Their high chairs were clean too so I felt comfortable letting my baby use it. Food arrived quickly too and that's definitely a plus since our baby isn't someone who can sit there waiting for a long period. Came here for brunch at around 10:30am on a Sunday and didnt have to wait for a table. Had to try the chicken and waffles and I would definitely come back here just for that. The chicken was super crispy and tender, served with a side of spicy mayo (the perfect dipping sauce for chicken imo). The pancakes were super filling as well, personally i like when the outside is a little crunchy and inside is soft. These waffles were pretty dense and didn't have the crunch. Still loved it though! I also tried some home fries and it was so crunchy! The noodles were also pretty generous with the amount of protein (more than most ramen places at least). The gochujang burger was amazing as well. They opened this restaurant in the old Pizza Hut location, and even though it's only five minutes from our house, we didn't get a chance to visit until now. We were a bit surprised by the name choice: last time we used the word 'chillax' was in middle school, so the restaurant naming feels a bit lame. That said, the menu looked interesting, the place was nicely decorated, and the waiter was friendly and attentive. The order arrived quickly, but unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. We started with the clam chowder, which turned out to be a sweet, milky mix with a few clams in shells - it didn't taste like clam chowder at all. For the mains, we ordered the spaghetti beef sukiyaki, laksa curry seafood soup, and black seafood linguine. The spaghetti sukiyaki was disappointing--bland and tasteless. The seafood linguine was a bit better and the curry soup was the best of the three. Even so, it was far from five-star quality. Perhaps we didn't choose the best dishes for this restaurant's, but based on what we tried, I can't rate it higher than three stars. We wouldn't be back. read more

my third time came here but this time wanted to try dinner menu. brought new friend with me as i was excited to introduce this yummy place (based on my past 2 brunches experiences). fast and friendly service as usual! cozy chill ambience. ordered sukiyaki noodle, duck confit, and chicken taragon. chicken taragon is perfect. very tender, flavorful, pairs well with the dipping sauce, and chicken has the right 'crunchiness'. duck confit is tender, which come with well-seasoned garlic bread and underwhelming sauce. it's like something is missing in this food! maybe need tiny bit of pepper or salt. the garlic bread has better seasoning than the duck confitt sauce. sukiyaki noodle is even more underwhelming. almost flavorless. only chicken taragon(appetizer) deserve 4*. the rest (main course) is 3*. none of us finished the food. maybe we ordered wrong food...? read more

More of a 3.7 than a 4. It's Sunday and there's nothing like getting some brunch. Although it was quite busy, I didn't need to wait too long to get a seat. The atmosphere was quite nice and spacious enough to not feel crowded or noisy. The worker who brought us to our table was friendly and provided clear instructions on how to order through the QR code. I actually enjoy the self serving ordering as I don't feel rushed to put in an order. I ended up getting the Cheesy Beef Benny with an iced Pistachio Cream Latte. First the drink. It didn't taste too sweet which I don't mind, but I felt the pistachio could have been a bit stronger, but still had a good light coffee taste to it. The benny came with a side spring mix and potatoes which are good pairing. Potatoes were more on the crispy side which I enjoy more of so definitely didn't mind that. The benny itself was quite interesting. It was super packed with flavour, tendered beef, runny egg. But I felt it was a but too saucey when it came together and made the English muffin all soggy. When I cut into the poached egg, half my plate was flooded with sauce. So if I had to change one thing, it would be to cut back on the sauce. We love the original location. This place is a bit further for us, but parking is way better. I love the ambiance. It feels like you're sitting in a sunroom. The food is just as good but the hojicha latte came in a glass cup instead of the regular latte cup which I thought allowed it to cool too quickly. I wonder if I could request a mug instead next time? The ramen has delicious flavourful broth and the tofu puffs soak up all the flavour. The eggs Benedict were so good too. Happened to come across this spot a few weeks ago and decided to check it out! It was very spacious & modern inside, having an urban garden feel especially with at the coffee station/bar in the middle of the restaurant. I opted for the chicken & waffles as recommended by the server as one of their specialities, and I was not disappointed. Super crispy chicken thighs paired with spicy mayo coupled with light fluffy waffles paired with syrup. A classic brunch item that was done so well! My companion opted for the omelette and was surprised by how large the portion was. And of course, our coffees were fantastic as well. I came here as a party of 7 on a Thursday evening around 6:30 pm and I was quite surprised during my dining experience with how busy the place was on a weekday! Thankfully we had made reservations prior to, so we were seated immediately. The seating was really nice and spacious, with comfy chairs and booth chairs. The aesthetic of the restaurant was beautiful - a place where you can come casually or dress up for a little for a date night or special occasion. The place looked clean. Service was overall quite good. There was one particular server that had a flat affect (not rude though) but the others were very friendly. I, myself, opted for their Pulled Pork Tacos which is actually on the starter menu but definitely could be on the main. They describe the dish as consisting of "3 mini tacos" but I think the size is pretty consistent with regular size tacos at your local Mexican spot. They were loaded with pulled pork shoulder, sour cream, cucumbers, then topped with scallions, parmesan cheese, diced bell pepper, and house made chipotle sauce - all served on a crispy shell, which I appreciated was not corn tortilla. The flavors were good without being too salty. Lots of sauce and very juicy, no dry meat here! It was also served with a spring mix salad and french fries which were soft but well seasoned. The presentation was gorgeous. Others at my table ordered their angus burger, ramen, seafood linguini, and seafood rice skillet - all were pleased with their dishes. Location: it's in a plaza at Yonte and Weldrek across the street from T and T Parking situation: It's a plaza so there's free parking if you go early there's lots of free parking if you go later there's probably still going to be and now she some spots available. Leafy fern plants separating sections, lots of leafy rubber plants too. It's really nice. It feels luxurious in an area that doesn't normally have restaurants that feel luxurious. It's amazing what a room full of plants does to your dining experience. There's quality tables and seats, they didn't cheap out on that. That all so makes a difference. There's a bar at the back. And they didn't cheap out on that either. It looks like they made an effort to make you enjoy the experience. And I absolutely appreciate that, so many restaurants put the cheapest furniture in their places in charge a maximum price with no thought to customers comfort or experience. So you can tell they really love the vibe of this place. I find it's details like this that make you want to go back. And I want to go back many times Staff: Oh wait stop was so nice. Craig from Southern charm we didn't even realize our server was having her first day at work until the end of our meal when she mentioned it. She had been a repeat customer and loved it so much she wanted to work here. I don't know if she's the manager or maybe the head server but another woman came around to check to make sure everything was okay, and she was so nice too. Maybe I was just lucky when I went but it was such a great experience. Food: The food came out and it looked like a magazine photoshoot. You know where they make the food look perfect and shiny and absolutely delicious. That's what showed up at our table from the lattes with their cute art to the the shrimp cake Benedict. Been hearing a lot about this fusion bistro, and we finally got to try it for both brunch and dinner. This is actually the second location that expanded from @chillaxcoffee and added dinner service. The restaurant has great vibes with lots of greenery and aesthetic design. The service has been great both times even though it was very busy. The menu is quite interesting with a variety of dishes from different cuisines, ranging from ramen to pasta to steak/ribs/duck confit. We tried several dishes and they were generally good, but nothing outstanding. Prices were standard but the portions were quite generous. My fav was the seafood pasta which was topped with lots of fresh seafood! Sister restaurant to Chillax (my usual go-to). I got the same pork and fried chicken banhmi and I found the portions to be bigger at their other location. However the ambiance of this location was very nice and definitely a bigger space as well. The drinks menu feel a bit different and I got a delicious pistachio latte! The flavour was a little above subtle and not overpowering. Would come back for this latte alone!! read more

Back for brunch! Brunch menu has a wide variety of items from your standard breakfast plate (eggs with choice of protein), omelette with choice of protein), and eggs benny. There are also options of ramen, tacos (pulled pork) and a selection of sandwiches (gochujang fried chicken brioche). Tacos come with a side of fries and salad which is nice (can never figure out why most places that have tacos on the menu just give you the tacos). Chicken and waffles come with 3 generous sized pieces of fried chicken and 1 whole waffle cut into 4 wedges. Maple syrup and a dipping sauce for the chicken are served on the side. Waffles were light and fluffy and chicken was crisp and moist. Some of the menu items come with a side of tuna mash which is just tuna and mashed potatoes. Combination was actually very nice and you can see big pieces of tuna mixed in. All in all a much better experience then was had at dinner. Service was pleasant and efficient. read more

Upbeat cafe, friendly staff, decent food Ambiance: chill vibes coffee shop with a mixed seating space. The vibe is cozy and gives off a nice chill vibe. Half the seating section was a bar area and the other half was table seating. The music is a little loud so it made it hard to hear if you're having a conversation cause you're fighting the ambiance. Service: we were greeted and seated almost immediately for a table of two in the bar area. Server was friendly and explained the ordering process to us. (Scan the QR code to place your order on mobile) Food: we ordered two dishes 1)the chicken and waffles - juicy and tender chicken pieces (two total) and light and airy waffles. Did not feel heavy to eat both together. The chicken skin was crispy and the chicken itself was very moist. The presentation was nice and minimalistic. 2) cheesy beef eggs Benedict - this dish came with home fries and a salad, the dish was definitely cheesy and delicious. Good amount of beef on top and the eggs were good. Little overcooked but still runny. Service: our order took a little longer than I would have expected from a brunch spot, we waited about 15-20 minutes to get our food. There were some tables that sat down after us, ordered after us and got their food before ours. We ordered two dishes but they didn't come out together, one came out 5 minutes before the other. It's a good vibe and experience, will come back to try other things too. Overall 4/5 - if the music wasn't as loud and we got our food a little faster I would bump the score. read more

An industrial looking bistro that serves brunch and dinner menus as well as different drinks. The bistro itself takes on a number of different cuisines with an asian twist. The tables were spaced out well and seating was comfortable. The waiting staff was quick and attentive, they do have an online ordering system, so that must alleviate some of the work load. The menu itself was filled with corny food lines translated from Chinese to English. The prices are similar to that of a typical bistro. Clam chowder - The clam chowder was recommended and it was a pretty good chowder, but not chowda level. It came with a generous amount of clams in shells (around 6). This made for a deeper seafood flavour where the other seasoning, namely creaminess and salt did not overshadow the seafood flavour. I would not consider it 'chowda' level as it was not rough in the mouth as a Bostonian chowder would be. This is likely the restaurants choice, but I'd prefer a grittiness to it. Would recommend. Tarragon fried chicken - I am not sure what tarragon should taste like, but either the flavour is too subtle or the fried chicken itself lacked seasoning. I had to leverage the sauce to excite the taste buds. The chicken was also over shadowed by the amount of batter around the protein, so it may have a lot of chicken in the pictures, but biting down it felt like a lot less chicken. The batter was very crispy and light, so even with that much batter it didn't feel too heavy. Might try again and hope that they put more seasoning into the chicken. Gochujang brioche - The chicken burger came with fries and greens. Greens were good and refreshing with a vinaigrette. The fries were decently crispy and fluffy. The burger had some good and bad. The brioche bun was nice and fluffy. The sauce was spicy, but I was hoping for more sweetness to it (I don't handle spice well). The addition of kimchi also adds to the spiciness and makes the bun soggy, so as time went on the bun started to deteriorate. The fried chicken was drenched in the gochujang sauce and so it wasn't as crispy as I expected it to be, I also had the fried chicken from above to compare it to. In contrast to the fried chicken from above, it was a better meat:batter ratio. Restaurant is a nice take in asian fusion, with room for improvement. It is a relatively new restaurant, so I may come back a while from now to see if there are improvements. On a side note, we also got to try the fried chicken knuckle and chicken laksa. Fried chicken knuckle was crispy when fresh, but this over shadowded the knuckle bits. The gochujang was also very spicy, was hoping for a bit more sweetness to the gochujang. The noodles in the laksa was good, but soup was a bit tasteless. read more

Our go to place, the food is consistent and we enjoy the menu updates. There's a good variety for brunch or dinner. The ribs were fall off the bone and the steak tender. We recommend the squid in seafood pasta though! The lemon zest made it a light pasta to eat in the summer. read more

This is the second location of Chillax and this place serves not just brunch but also dinner. Our family have always been a fan of Chillax on Leslie so when I saw this on IG I was excited to try it out. We came in. Friday of the long weekend and had an early dinner at 5pm. The restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered a few plates to share and they were delicious. We had the PEI mussels with white wine, salmon tartar, ribs with fries and also the seafood rice skillet. Our little one had the chicken tacos with fries. The service is very good and the place is very clean. There is a good amount of parking spots. I can't wait to come back to try their brunch menu ! read more
