Visited the evening of 10-7-2012. Brand new store that opened in May 2012, this was a great place that I was surprised was open late on a Sunday. Vast selection of items, very clean, nice interior & exterior, a bit on the expensive side. Wished they stocked locally brewed beer - however, perhaps there is not a beer locally brewed in the Cape May/South Jersey area. Loved the fact that it is NOT a chain & is a locally owned business. Would definitely go back if/when I visit Cape May again. read more

This is the urban outfitters of liquor stores. Even the light fixtures are cool. They have a top notch selection of alcohol and beer (cold and warm) and you can mix and match and 4 and 6 pack. Every time I have come here they have had everything I was looking for. For a liquor store the staff is exceptional. The girl who works there, Katie, is so nice and friendly. A nice addition to Cape Island. Great selection of adult beverages, particularly wine. The best part is the prices are quite reasonable considering the limited choices in regards liquor stores in the area. The service was excellent and knew their stuff. My only wish is that they could move into the Cape May Historic District so they were in walking distances of the B&Bs and restaurants. read more

My friends and I decided to swing by this liquor store to re-stock our supplies midway through our girls' weekend. First impression: super cute, well-stocked store with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable employees. A TV showcased a college football game and the store dog roamed the aisles. My friends and I spent a significant amount of time poring over the cold beer selection, before even noticing the wall of singles for mix-a-six and mix-a-four packs. We were encouraged to leave our larger bottles on the counter as we continued shopping through the store. If Sunset Liquors was going for a welcoming, cozy vibe, they nailed it. We spent far more time in there than your average booze run which undoubtedly resulted in far more purchases as well. Nicely done, Sunset. read more

Careful getting in and our of this cramped parking lot, but once you get inside you will find an inviting assortment of beers, wines and liquors. Not sure all of the staff members look old enough to be 21 but I guess that is not a requirement to work in a liquor store. There is a house dog that hangs out mostly by the register named Ziggy who is a girl. She looked content enough to be there. A nice change of pace from Colliers which for the longest time was the only game in town. read more

The customer service is great! Everyone is always so nice and willing to help. Last time we were there, they had wine tasting that we technically missed but they kept it going and told us a ton of info about the wines. I only gave them 4 stars because the selection can be kind of limited for certain things, but then again it is a very small store. read more

Sunset Liquors is Collier's cooler, better dressed brother. This is a really nice, extensive liquor store with good prices. The exterior features a charming painted signboard as well as stools made from bottle caps. The interior is equally nice, with wood floors. The owner says he was going for an old barn feel, and he really nailed it, giving the place a rustic feel. There are seemingly hundreds of wines (including chilled ones) to choose from, at all price points. They also had dozens of types of beers, including local breweries such as Victory, that you can buy in 6 packs, 12 packs, and even variety packs. They even have a whole wall of beers that you can buy individually or use to make your own 6 pack, which I always like. Considering the great look of the place, the prices are lower than expected. A 6 pack of Presidente was $9. Angry Orchard cider was $10 for a 6 pack (I've seen it 2 dollars cheaper in supermarkets, but still not too bad). Beers such as budweiser were priced normally ($6-7 a six pack). You can get wine bottles for around $10, with some going up to $200. Before you leave, make sure to check out the tequila selection. As to be expected, the tequila is pretty expensive ($50+), but they carry some interesting types (one comes in a painted skull, while another has a glass rose in the center). I probably wouldn't buy any, but it's cool to see. read more

We would highly recommend using Sunset Liquors if you're getting married near Cape May. They're a family-owned business with the personal touch that a small business typically provides. Prices are extremely competitive (they literally bested another estimate we had, with the same quantity and quality of liquor) and they provide an awesome mix of options. Additionally, they nail the small stuff. Mixers, lemons, etc. are all provides in a one-stop-shop experience that lets your mind rest easy. The best thing Sunset Liquors will do is provide night-of service if you run out of beer, wine, booze, etc. All you need to do is call then and they'll come right out with more of whatever you need. A lot of places offer this option, but not a lot of them can actually execute on it. Sunset was out for us within 15 minutes of calling, which kept the party going. One final strong point of Sunset is their responsiveness. After contacting them, it was an easy process for us to work with Zach to get everything priced, invoiced and set up on site. Truthfully, this was one of the easiest vendors we worked with during our entire wedding planning. Everyone loves weddings for the open bar, and Sunset Liquors provided the best one in the biz. read more

Sunset Liquors is a good place to stop for your adult beverage needs if you are near Cape May Point and want a fair price along with a good selection. They are stocked with a wide variety of wines as well as independent beers. The outside and inside decor is nice and the staff friendly. Extremely impressed with Sunset Liquors. Katie took an unusual order from me. I called them from Texas. My wife, sister in law, and several girlfriends are celebrating my sister in laws birthday at Cape May this weekend. Katie took my order for 3 nice bottles of champagne for the birthday girl and her friends and actually had it delivered cold with champagne flutes to their hotel room. All in about 15 minutes after my phone call to place the order. Extremely helpful and accommodating and they could not have been any nicer. Thanks to all at Sunset Liquors for your help. This place is so unique! Not just any old basic liquor store you'll run into. They have cool light fixtures and a unique ambiance to the place. The staff is friendly and the variety is great! I was delighted to stumble upon this new wine called 'The Oyster' by a company called Proud Pour. Not only is it a delicious sauvignon blanc, but when you buy the bottle, you fund to restore 100 oysters into NJ waters! I was very pleased to see this store open in Cape May as an alternative to Colliers. The offer a lot of microbrews individually by the bottle so you can get yourself a nice assortment to sample. They also have a good wine selection. Overall the prices were very reasonable and not marked up too much since this is a vacation area. read more

Been here a few times, my husband seems to have a hard time making a decision on what beer he wants, ether a sampler pack or make your own 6 pack; but I'm a cider girl and they really didn't have much of a selection.
