I went daily to make sure it always looked like this

Think long and hard before you use Sunset Memorial Park to bury your loved ones the people that work there are the most coldhearted people I've ever dealt with in my life. My wife has been there since March 6 of 2017 and I handmade decorations for her grave, I went daily to maintain them And they saw a fit to remove them and destroy them!!! They reimburse me for my materials with gift cards, but it doesn't change the fact that they destroyed the decorations at her grave seven days before the anniversary of her death. I hope they don't keep anybody else's decorations longer than seven days because that's major discrimination. I wouldn't be so upset about it if I didn't go there daily to maintain it and make sure it look good before you put your loved ones there they are very coldhearted people. I've been trying to deal with this for two weeks now and making no progress. They damaged the granite on the stone with their lawnmower. I saw then Damage it,they're supposed to fix it by Friday, March 21, but I just came from there and they haven't even started on it yet this is what it looked like all the time no matter what the weather was, but they Felt a need to destroy it think long and hard before you do business for your loved ones with Sunset Memorial Park!!!!!!! They also have no regard for your loved ones after their buried. They drive over the stones without protecting them.

Thousands of dollars later.... our memorial stone was installed ... no one called ... look what you get ... also no grass planted ... we are not the only ones ... look at all the Yelp reviews ... we are close to $10,000 for our "free plot". BTW don't believe them ... it is NOT illegal to spread your own ashes in Ohio and many other states. It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and high pressure sales. Very disappointed. Look also at how other memorials were treated nearby. We also reported homeless people camping in the park just yards away and that complaint apparently went nowhere - discounted as "workers". So your migrant workers camp out in the woods? As far as services my Mom had her funeral there. It feels like a cold hearted assembly line. At other funeral homes you have the room for the day. Here the minute the funeral is over they throw your belongings out of the room and people are rushed out for the next assembly line funeral. Very cold and calculating. Also at the last minute the funeral director said we should invite people afterwards for a funeral meal. That never came up during our planning. He recommended Donauschwaben German-American Cultural Center (7370 Columbia Rd, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138). That was another mistake. He claimed they took credit cards. But that organization does not have their act together. Young waitress there immediately refused to take credit cards so I drove over a half hour home for the check book. By the time I got back my guests were leaving. Manager adds insult to injury and says they could have taken credit cards. Should have fired the waitress for playing that prank! By the way look at the other reviews and you will find that management does not care and does not respond. We only selected this cemetery because my parents were buried there in a large nationality section. Shame on you! Shame on you!

But when the unthinkable happened my husband quickly reached out to Lou. He told me not to look anywhere else he is someone you can trust. When the moment came all of the details were taken care of and highly organized. Then came the moment where we had to sit with him and discuss next steps. I had no clue but he patiently guided us and made sure every thing was carefully thought of with no rush. His employees were EXCELLENT! From choosing the casket, getting the right image and verbiage for the obituary. Making sure that they had a few pictures of her so that they could apply right makeup and hair style, it was amazing. I'm glad that they had our back. The day of the viewing, the father who led prayers and last rights all amazing. The procession to the cemetery all so beautiful. Lou our family is forever grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Excellent value for the casket we chose and everything else. Just sit with him and have a chat, I'm sure he can work with different fair budgets.

What do you say about a funeral home?…read more It's a nice enough place, with a workable set up to accommodate everything it is supposed to do. The part I don't care for, and it's no fault of this place or of anyone at all, is a service at holiday times. It sucks for the family. This place does its best to make a calming experience for a family and visitors during a difficult and painful time. The colors are muted, the lighting is soft. Those arriving via the front door will be greeted by someone giving direction to the appropriate spot. There is a smaller room off to the side that on this visit had coffee and cookies for those who wanted to mingle before or after the receiving line. There's a step down into the main viewing area, but there is a wheelchair accessible ramp. I can't speak anything about the funeral director(s) or how they are in interactions with the bereaved, but they oversee and provide a place with a nice affect reflecting the (sad) purpose of its business.
