Had dinner last night and entire experience was great. SP is a casual dining spot at a marina. We were seated immediately at 6:00 pm. Caleb greeted us and was a great server and restaurant representative. We had grilled shrimp and bouillabaisse...both delicious! Pricing very reasonable and food very creative. Went here back to back nights recently. The thing about SP is that it does what it does fairly well. The crab mac n cheese is literally out of this world delicious. There's nothing super special going on here, but what they serve is done well. They need to upgrade the wine list. Currently it reads like a bad country club list where the bar manager doesn't really care with about 4 or 5 exceptions. Service was spotty as well. Nice guys behind the bar but no polish whatsoever. When you're almost the only people at the bar, know to pour more wine from the bottle into an empty glass. Offer water. Offer knowledgeable polite service. I went here to meet up with family and had an absolutely amazing meal. I ordered the kamikaze chicken and a side of couscous and it was absolutely perfect. The chicken was fried very well. I normally don't love fried chicken, but their chicken was light and crispy covered in a great sauce. I also highly recommend the fried grouper bites as an appetizer. My husband and I decided to celebrate the first night of our mini-vacation here and we made an excellent choice! We asked to sit outside (to watch the sunset) and were pleasantly surprised by the fans and cool monsters - this hot July evening actually felt breezy and cooler-than-average. We started our meal with cocktails. I had the pineapple monitor and my husband, being a historian, got "the historian" (seriously). It was super yummy - a blueberry jalapeño margarita. For dinner I had the mussels Bouillabaisse and it was creamy and delicious! My husband had the pimento cheese bacon burger and HOLY COW - that was incredible! I got the shrimp pasta which was far too heavily garnished with parmesan cheese, and I love parmesan but this was way too much and over powering almost to the point of making the whole dish inedible, in fact I could only manage a few mouthfuls, so perhaps in the future you can ease off the cheese or let the diner sprinkle their own cheese. Sunset Pointe. A brunch delicacy in my books. First off, their service is exquisite. Everyone is so kind and they have that classic Fairhope charm that people love. But let's talk about their incredible brunch items. I got the biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes. Although it seems simple, they really know how to season their food! It was simply perfect! My friend got the brunch burger which looked absolutely delicous! It had two fried eggs, two beef patties, lettuce, tomato, and bacon! Their potatoes were very crispy and seasoned well. Sunset Point aka Fly Creek Café My sister's and I ordered several appetizers to share as our meal: crab meatballs w/ 3 sauces, seafood lettuce wraps w/ shrimp, crab + calamari, and fried snapper throats. Our waitress, Rachel answered all questions and was well-informed. Food came out in reasonable amount of time. Seasonings were interesting but not extreme. We also shared a warm chocolate bread pudding as we watched the sun sink behind the marina. Consistently good food in as beautiful setting. We bring houseguests here for a meal out. Manager note: Restroom is in midst of main dining room in prominent view and main traffic flow. Women's restroom needed attention. The door to the back porch needs a hydraulic arm to control frequent try traffic to outside seating without the door slamming. read more

This place has the best atmosphere and seafood in Fairhope. The service is, well, okay, and it's pricey, but you can't beat the overall experience. They have the most spectacular spot to view a sunset and the outdoor fire pits are a nice place to have a drink while you wait. I took off a star because they are overvaluing themselves a bit with small apps that don't match the prices. We paid $15 for 3 "crab meatballs" and $9 for 3 "Grouper bights" - all delicious, but not enough food for $24. It's not the money - don't mind spending it on a great meal - it's the principle. We'll be back (and you should go, too), but the owners & management are missing the mark just a bit. read more

This restaurant is located in the Fly Creek Marina. Parking can be difficult on weekends but not impossible. Our group normally eats outside and enjoys the view. Most of the time things go well and food is served fresh. This time we had several seniors citizens with us and we decided to dine inside. It was busy but we were able to get service quickly. We ordered and received our food promptly. Several mistakes with our order made it somewhat confusing but that happens. Sadly We were disappointed with the kettle chips. You could tell that they were old and soggy. Normally these are the highlight of our meal but not this time. The other mutual complaint was about the dining chairs inside. They are kinda wicker/cane type with a metal frame that stabs and pokes at you and not comfortable for anyone over 90lbs. My grandfather said never again can he sit in those chairs. It is a nice restaurant with an eclectic menu but these issues really made the visit miserable. read more

Solidly good. The kamikaze shrimp and chicken were REALLY sweet, but in small doses, tasty. Grouper "bights" (eh...I get it, but eh) were tender and moist. And the grilled snapper throats were excellent. The drawbacks: the orzo side? Meh. The green bean side? Overcooked and limp. The snapper throats were begging for a sauce to compliment them, and the dessert menu was sparse and lacking. Could be great, and the food is at an expected price point for the area. This place was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives a little while back. We knew we were going to be in the area traveling so figured we give it a try. We came on a Sunday around 2 not knowing that there was a special or shortened menu with small bites and brunch. Regardless we stayed ordered grouper bites, the Leo's lettuce wraps and the Kamikaze chicken. Looks like Sundays are the day they change their fryer oil. Both of the fried items were rather dark because of old oil not necessarily burnt. Chicken was dry. Portions weren't very good. Server seem to be a young person working for the summer. My husband said it best, place gets a solid C. This is our third or fourth disappointment going to a triple D recommended restaurant. Sorry Guy, but we won't be trying anymore. read more

Beautiful Setting Sunset Point is located at Fly Creek Marina and had a nice view of the marina and boats. There is plenty of parking. In nice weather, you can eat outside which we did and it was very nice. The overhead heater provides the warmth when it gets cold. We shared theKAMIKAZE CHICKEN appitizer which was a bit disappointing. The chicken was soggy and lacked flavor was disappointing. I had the fish and chips and it was good but not great, Again, it failed to exhibit the flavors you would expect. The fried coleslaw was great and homemade kettle chips were very good. My wife had the GULF SNAPPER THROATS and rice. The fish was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful and the rice cooked to perfection with lots of bold flavors. We will go back again and give it another try. A bit on the pricey side. Price is not an issue for me when the food and service are above average. If you're looking for oysters On the reasonably priced with a very nice selection . The snapper throats were exceptional. The seared tuna items were all good. It is a fantastic place to bring your kids of all ages. The drinks are fantastic. They have the fun tradition of toasting the sunset. It checks so many boxes but it's missing one major thing, good food. I have yet to have a meal there that I think matched the price they were asking for. I mean it when I say I want to love this place it's got so many good pieces but it fails at the main one. I've eaten here twice and it just isn't my favorite food. The cocktails are good but I wish they had better seafood dishes to offer since they are right on the bay. The view is nice and unique. The outdoor seating is what I would recommend. We were seated inside at a corner table and there were about ten flies swarming the window right behind our heads. I guess because the doors are opening so often to the outdoor dining porch. It was scorching hot in the early evening sun on the deck, but we requested to move to an outside table to escape the flies that were captured inside around our table. I can't think of a dish that I or anyone else at my table ordered either visit that was memorable. I would recommend going for a cocktail to see the sunset and make a reservation somewhere downtown for dinner. read more

What a gorgeous day to sit by the water and have lunch yesterday. A little gem in Fairhope. We sat outside. Dog friendly FYI! Spacious.. parking is limited when busy due to sharing w boaters it appeared. Clean and friendly staff as well. Great menu. All fresh daily from the gulf. No farmed fish here! The sheep head special we all agreed was the best dish at the table. Grouper nuggets were good but cool when they came to table. Yet I didn't fuss. The seafood lettuce wrap was plentiful but not very flavorful. Mahi sandwich was huge and enjoyable. Server was awesome. Manager came by to check on us. The owner Panini Pete himself came by as well. Came into town this past week for a weekend wedding and decided to hit up Sunset Pointe because we heard lots of good things about it. This restaurant had a cool, fun vibe, and I gave it bonus points for the awesome boats docked nearby. This restaurant has indoor/outdoor seating and we decided to sit inside because the weather was too humid. All the staff was really polite (our waitress Racquel was especially sweet) and overall we found the service to be timely. We got drinks and a couple of appetizers, which were quite tasty (definitely try the crab meat balls and grouper bites if you like fish). Unfortunately, we opted not to stay for a full dinner as we had planned because the air conditioner didn't seem to be on and it was way too hot and muggy to eat. read more
