I was very thankful that this recycling center is open during the pandemic. Kevin was very friendly and helpful. He wore a mask, & helped me get the cans and bottles into the containers. I really loved this new sunset Recycling Center at Costco in cypress today, because I normally recycle with cans and bottles every once in a while. Also, I'm sticking with this new recycling location, from now on. I still liked those new plastic fence cans that we separated aluminum cans and bottles only, while we recycle the glass bottles from real plastic trash cans without getting ourselves cut from broken glasses. I will introduce to my family, when the time comes. But, I still going to miss RePlanet Recycling center at Ralph's in Cerritos. Lastly, I would give thanks to sunset Recycling Center to keep it open for a very long time. read more

Always a great experience when I want to drop off my recycling for some cash. I love the location; it is right behind the Costco gas station next to the tire shop, so it's convenient for me to drop off my aluminum cans when I need to gas up my car. Kevin is friendly and efficient so I get quick and amazing customer service. I hate driving somewhere just to do my recycling and I love how this location allows me to get a couple things done in one trip. I always need to get groceries at Costco or put gas in car. read more

Having been there several times now I just had to take a moment and share a review. This recycling center is very well organized and run. The hours are awesome! And it is conveniently located at the far side of the Costco tire center in Cypress. The area is clean and the staff is always very helpful. Special recognition goes to Kevin, the young gentleman who runs things there. He is professional, attentive, courteous and kind. He was so much help on my first visit, and he is consistently helpful and kind. This is by far the easiest and best place to take bottles and cans for recycling. I would say it's a give and take. You have to look at whether the location is convenient for you, you aren't able to see the weights to compare to the receipt, they subtract (presumably for the caps and/or precipitation) but they don't require you to remove the caps or make sure there's no water in the bottles. I suppose it's telling that it doesn't seem as crowded as before, which can also be a good thing. Make you own decision as to the positives and negatives and use their services if you so choose. I've decided to. By the way, the hours and days they're open are AWESOMELY convenient. read more

Kind Attendants Who Get You In/Out Quickly. This Costco Cypress location recently went thorough a change in Operator to Sunset Recycling Center. "Memo" who is there most days, makes it really easy to get in, place your plastic bottles and soda cans in mesh bins, and get it weighed and paid in cash on the spot. All-remember all glass goes in plastic bins for weighing, so no glass cuts. This location no longer crusher the cans/plastic bottles on site, so the two staff are able to focus on the customers completely. Always very courteous and respectful (helping new customers get with the program), and always a smile and kind word and pay CASH on the spot!
