The Sunset Room is a fun spot if you're looking for karaoke and decent bar food. The atmosphere is relaxed, and it's easy to have a good time with friends. However, My main complaint is the drink pricing. Domestic beers are listed at $7.70, but the charge is rounded up to $8 without any explanation, and you don't receive change. This feels misleading (if you order a lot of drinks and notice this you will definitely stiff the servers a good tip unwittingly) It wouldn't be an issue if the beers were simply listed as $8 from the start. Clear pricing would make for a much better customer experience. Maybe management is skimping the servers??? Still a decent place. read more

After a hard days work, I treated myself with a place with comfy vibes by heading to this particular bar and restaurant. I was greeted with fantastic service by Peter, the bartender. Because I was driving by myself from work, I chose a non alcoholic beverage, which tasted amazing. As for the meal, I ate a sirloin taco and a cajun pasta, which also tasted amazing. First time at the local bar, tuck in a small shopping center. My job was celebrating its 5 year anniversary. We got two margaritas, the drinks weren't strong but they were not weak either. Our table ordered the appetizer sampler. The sampler included wings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and jalapeño poppers. The steaks were pretty good. And the stuffed potatoes were cheesy and buttery. The meal was filling and delicious. I was very surprised and impressed by the food, Also, the female bartender/waitress was amazing. I stopped by The Sunset room looking for prime rib. however. it was priced at $30 so i settled for sirloin. All the prices have really gone up. I used to stop by alot and loved the steak n lobster on thursdays. for 20.00. Now it's 40.00. Anyhow, staff was good except I was between a shift change, I thought the dinner dishes came with a salad. (they used to) No. not anymore. I wondered why server didn't ask what dressing. So when I asked they said no. its extra. also no garlic bread anymore. Also, it comes with fries or potato or stuffed potato. well I was served 1/2 a stuffed potato. It was good. however 1/2 ??? The steak smelled funny. like it was almost going bad. I took a bite and it was okay. filled .y craving. good portion, however the smell said alot. I took 1/2 home for my dog. veggies were great !! We have been there 6 times for karaoke and food. For 2 sundays now they run out of popular beer. We had to get our beer at the liquor store were we found the manager getting ice. Seems like the manager cant do the basic job. 2xs I ordered prime rib medium rare and the first time it was over cooked, the second time they tried to pedal me an over cooked weird looking steak as prime rib. I kept telling the server it was not prime rib and over cooked. She insisted and I told her to take it back. Then s he admitted it was not prime rib. Its sad. Its a nice place but they cant keep inventory nor give you the type of steak you order and lie about the type of steak they serve you read more

I didn't take any pictures but the food here was very reasonable. This was my first time here. I didn't expect much TBH. Came here with a couple family members for dinner. Other patrons were at the bar and we sat on the other side in one of the booths. The server was friendly and attentive. I had the fish and chips, which came with 4 pieces of fish and seasoned fries. Only 3 other patrons when we arrived at 7:30PM. We were able to seat ourselves. My guest had a Jack and Coke that she loved. Rib Eye was a little too tough and not as thick as my guest was expecting. It wasn't bad yet it wasn't as flavorful as they were hoping for. My medium rare Filet Mignon was just perfect. I had the Stuffed Potato and it was much more flavorful than the baked potato my guest experienced. The ambiance was a little off because it seems the music needs to be fed like a juke box. By the time we left a DJ had been set up to prepare for the Wed evening crowd (?) I've heard great things about this iconic Hacienda Heights restaurant so I'm considering maybe this was an off night and should try again on a Thursday during Lobster night or Saturday evening. read more

First time here!! Cute throw back place. I felt like I was meeting my date at the Regal Beagle lol. Food is great for the price we ordered steak and lobster and prime rib. I have no idea what this place is like these days but it absolutely was the neighborhood dive bar and lounge for this section of the Heights when I was growing up. After I turned 21 my friends and I visited to see what it was that our parents enjoyed so much about it and, after having a few rounds, the answer was obvious: cheap boozy drinks. Hopefully the tradition has continued! Once I came here with my parents and their friends, and one of the older guys got so drunk he kept trying to drink a bottle of A1 steak sauce at the table. Update. Sunset room is my home away from home When it's a restaurant .. the food is elite. Sandro and darrell always make food to perfection I love that if I want to drink I'll drink and if I dont want to they support that too and I have options if I'm on the path of no drinking period. Their karaoke system is elite Because people are able to go on YouTube to sing their favorite renditions of songs for karaoke which is FAR Better than traditional karaoke. My friend and I were in the area on Sunday and looked for a place to grab a quick bite and drink. Yelp showed BJs and this place as two places that were on our way to where we were going. We missed the off-ramp to got to BJ but we're seriously kicking ourselves for not going out of our way to go back to BJs. First if all, the Sunset Room is a dumpy dive bar, but we were kind of desperate because there's nothing else in the area, so we went in. The bartender informed us that "the cook decided not to come in today." So we grabbed something takeout from the deli to eat at the bar and ordered a drink. I ordered doubles to save time but I honestly didn't think she heard me say double because it was a normal drink in a taller glass. So we ordered one more and asked for the check because we had somewhere to be. We were both shocked when we saw she charged us $18 per drink! I've been a server, bartended m, and even managed a bar & grill before. This was the biggest rip off! I questioned the bartender and she informed me the the drinks are $9 and a double is double the price. This was TITO's not Grey Goose! I hope that this saves someone else from sticker shock in advance. Drinks here suck, we got lame service because the girl was more interested in talking to old sugar daddies at the bar and made me get up an flag her down (and still have to wait) to get her attention.
