I've been a fan of Sunset Slush for years but have always had them when they come to events with their vendor cart. They have an actual store right near Westchester and Main St in High Point that's easy to find, and even easier for take out orders right now. First off, their Italian Ice is the real deal. It's smooth and creamy and packed with flavor. There isn't a flavor I don't like, though some of my favorites are the pineapple, mango, lime, and coconut cream. I also like that their coconut cream is non dairy based so I can still enjoy it. They have some fun concoctions for kids and adults alike, and you can mix any flavors you want as well. If you're not feeling in the mood for Italian Ice, they have Homeland Creamery ice cream on hand as well. Anyone who know Homeland Creamery knows their ice cream is the best around. The staff at Sunset Slush was very friendly and let me try several flavors before packing up my to-go order for the family. Definitely put this on your list of places not to miss (especially on a hot day)!

Way too small and not enough product. I felt insulted for the price I paid. The flavor I wanted they didn't have.

They have a few coolers with many flavors of ice cream available. The workers were happy to offer us samples and in the end I got 2 scoops, one of some sort of Cookie Monster blue cookies and creamish style ice cream and I believe brownie batter. Both flavors were delicious and they hit the spot for a sweet treat craving. The shop is small with only one or two tables inside, but a small patio outside to sit and enjoy your treat. Pricing seems to be on par with other local ice cream shops, and service was helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this spot to others.

It is located in a small strip mall off North Main Street with plenty of parking. The front of the Ice Cream Shop is decorated very lively and you can see how much they appreciate their High Point University customers from a large welcome sign they have up letting them know this. The first thing that got my attention when I went in, besides how clean and organized the place was, was the great variety of offerings they had. I've been in order Ice Cream Parlors that serve Hershey's Ice Cream before and was aware of the many flavors they have to offer, but here besides the 64 flavors, they seem to have a variety of ways to have your ice cream, as well as other items such as smoothies and frozen lemonade, just to name a few. And to motivate you to explore the different ways of having your ice cream, they have pictures on the wall showing them. Even though the place was small with very few tables and chairs, it was already decorated for the Fall with colored leaves all over and small pumpkins on the table, creating a festive ambiance in which to enjoy some good ice cream. A young lady greated me with a smile and gave me a warm welcome. Since I was in the area to attend a Dinner Party that evening, I didn't want to get anything large; just a medium size cup of a nice flavor ice cream. The employee was so nice and helpful that when I asked her about a flavor besides explaining it she offered to give me a try on a tiny spoon. I tried the flavor Road Runner Raspberry and I instantly loved it. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to read about what this flavor contained and see for yourselves how good it looked for a picture is worth a thousand words. I enjoyed having this wonderful flavor ice cream and the High Point University sign in the entrance made me remember my college years in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and how much I enjoyed going out with my friends for some ice-cream. I highly recommend this Ice Cream Shop and thank the owners of this family-owned business for providing this sweet spot where members of the community can come to spend some quality time with family and friends while they savor some good ice-cream.

Creamy, rich, flavorful, and the waffle cups we took to go were the perfect touch! Even more impressive? The service. One young woman was working alone during a midday rush and she handled it like a pro. Calm, efficient, kind, and kept the line moving while still giving each order care. That's the kind of service that deserves recognition, and a tip, which I happily gave. The store was clean, welcoming, and parking was easy, no issues at all, which made the experience even better. Cold Stone never misses with the flavors, but this visit stood out because of how smoothly everything was handled. Definitely coming back!

Place is small and has limited seating inside and a few seats and tables outside. I think I gained 5 pounds just walking in the door and taking in that sweet aroma of fresh ice cream. It's hard to pick what to get, ice cream, shakes or smoothies. You can get your ice cream in a cone or cup. The signature suggestions are great but you can also make your own. You pick your flavor of ice cream and then add whatever ingredients you like, peanuts, Kit Kat, Reece's pieces, Heath bars, pineapple, cinnamon, nuts, etc. You go into diabetic shock just looking at everything here. The girl behind the counter was friendly but she was by herself helping a long line till someone finally came from the back to help. She did a great job! The glass could use some cleaning, that's why only 4 stars. Overall I loved it, ice cream was smooth and velvety. Flavors are all blended very well. Love it here!

The soft serve / fro-yo flavors are a little odd, in my opinion. There are more "unique" flavors and less of the classics I generally gravitate toward. But they let you weigh hand scooped + toppings the same as you would fro-yo, so the addition of that variety makes up for it. There are a handful of both indoor and outdoor tables, all kept relatively clean (not sticky!!). They don't let you get your own samples (the person behind the counter will come out and get it for you), which some people might not like, but I appreciate because it is more sanitary. Prices are pretty on par with other places, and they have the price-by-weight posted on the wall. I appreciate the transparency.

They answered my questions with positive attitudes and even did not get annoyed by my son who can get overly excited about sweet treats. I hope to visit again.

I'm not sure if they do consignment style shops within the gift shop, or if it's all under the same business, but it's arranged in a bunch of mini sections that all kind of have a different aesthetic. It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.
