I've been a fan of Sunset Slush for years but have always had them when they come to events with their vendor cart. They have an actual store right near Westchester and Main St in High Point that's easy to find, and even easier for take out orders right now. First off, their Italian Ice is the real deal. It's smooth and creamy and packed with flavor. There isn't a flavor I don't like, though some of my favorites are the pineapple, mango, lime, and coconut cream. I also like that their coconut cream is non dairy based so I can still enjoy it. They have some fun concoctions for kids and adults alike, and you can mix any flavors you want as well. If you're not feeling in the mood for Italian Ice, they have Homeland Creamery ice cream on hand as well. Anyone who know Homeland Creamery knows their ice cream is the best around. The staff at Sunset Slush was very friendly and let me try several flavors before packing up my to-go order for the family. Definitely put this on your list of places not to miss (especially on a hot day)!

Way too small and not enough product. I felt insulted for the price I paid. The flavor I wanted they didn't have.

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. Maybe I'm the last one to hear about Sweet Dough and everyone else has been a fan, or maybe it's a true hidden gem. Either way, I will 100% be back.

They have a few coolers with many flavors of ice cream available. The workers were happy to offer us samples and in the end I got 2 scoops, one of some sort of Cookie Monster blue cookies and creamish style ice cream and I believe brownie batter. Both flavors were delicious and they hit the spot for a sweet treat craving. The shop is small with only one or two tables inside, but a small patio outside to sit and enjoy your treat. Pricing seems to be on par with other local ice cream shops, and service was helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this spot to others.

It is located in a small strip mall off North Main Street with plenty of parking. The front of the Ice Cream Shop is decorated very lively and you can see how much they appreciate their High Point University customers from a large welcome sign they have up letting them know this. The first thing that got my attention when I went in, besides how clean and organized the place was, was the great variety of offerings they had. I've been in order Ice Cream Parlors that serve Hershey's Ice Cream before and was aware of the many flavors they have to offer, but here besides the 64 flavors, they seem to have a variety of ways to have your ice cream, as well as other items such as smoothies and frozen lemonade, just to name a few. And to motivate you to explore the different ways of having your ice cream, they have pictures on the wall showing them. Even though the place was small with very few tables and chairs, it was already decorated for the Fall with colored leaves all over and small pumpkins on the table, creating a festive ambiance in which to enjoy some good ice cream. A young lady greated me with a smile and gave me a warm welcome. Since I was in the area to attend a Dinner Party that evening, I didn't want to get anything large; just a medium size cup of a nice flavor ice cream. The employee was so nice and helpful that when I asked her about a flavor besides explaining it she offered to give me a try on a tiny spoon. I tried the flavor Road Runner Raspberry and I instantly loved it. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to read about what this flavor contained and see for yourselves how good it looked for a picture is worth a thousand words. I enjoyed having this wonderful flavor ice cream and the High Point University sign in the entrance made me remember my college years in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and how much I enjoyed going out with my friends for some ice-cream. I highly recommend this Ice Cream Shop and thank the owners of this family-owned business for providing this sweet spot where members of the community can come to spend some quality time with family and friends while they savor some good ice-cream.

While we were in the line the staff were taking time to get to know the guests which I thought was a great service touch. I got the NY Cheesecake Stacker and wow. It was good. It was A LOT, portion-wise, which is never a bad thing. Flavor was great. It wasn't as aggressively sweet you think. This was a fun place to try. Staff and guests were in good spirits, it was clean, there was a fun playlist going, just an overall good experience.

We were welcomed in by staff, who was very friendly. They offer a massive selection of ice cream flavors, which makes it tough to pick. They offer something for everyone including dairy free options (including vegan options), as well as classic flavors, fruity flavors, and their own concoctions! In addition, they offer unlimited toppings to be added at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!!!! Still stuffed from dinner, I got a "single" cup, which they actually allow you to put up to (2) favors in. I decided to to go with (2) of their original creations, getting the Peanut Butter Cookies & Cream, and the Salty Caramel Brownie, to top it off, i got a chocolate drizzle, sprinkles and whipped cream. WOW! Don't let the size of the cup fool you, they pack it, full, and have overflowing. They don't skimp. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, so rich and full of flavor. The space is very relaxed with plenty of seating, as well as games for people to enjoy while visiting. Another nice touch, the cashier gave us a bottle of water on the house. In addition to cups and cones, they also offer milkshakes, ice cream tacos made to your liking, and so much more. Hands down, this has got to be the best spot in the Triad to get a nice sweet treat! As the days are warming up, I'm looking forward to going back!

I'm not sure if they do consignment style shops within the gift shop, or if it's all under the same business, but it's arranged in a bunch of mini sections that all kind of have a different aesthetic. It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.

Great spot, though I will say I'm a bit disappointed they seem to have changed their rewards program since my last visit and I swear it used to be every dollar spent earns a point, now you only get a point every $2.
