Was craving some ice-cream after my stomach was on fire having some extra spicy dumplings! I started out thinking of the usual suspect Cold Stone, but when this popped up in my saved places I figured lets go out of my way to try out a local restaurant and see what it is all about. And let me tell you all, it was definitely worth it! I got there around 8:15 PM and it had a dinner cum ice parlor feel to it. You walk in and on the right they have all the ice creams, you get to try whatever you want (unlike most places post COVID) and pick from an array of Sundae options in the menu. Infound their options to be classic and timeless. We went for the hot fudge sunday with Chocolate chip cookie dough and pecan praline and absolutely loved the ice cream! They put yhese 2 wafers in the sundae and topped it with whipped cream and a cherry. We loved the flavors, and prices were hreat but we felt they were a bit stingy with the fudge. The server happily gave us extra nuts and we enjoyed our ice cream in the homey old town atmosphere the restaurant has. We even peaked at the menu and were tempted to try something out, but were too full. Will definitely back for a full mea

What does one do when they are craving something sweet late at night? Find a new ice cream place, of course! So one fine Saturday evening, we were craving ice cream, and decided to give this place a try. Both the exterior and the interior give an old-school diner kind of vibe, and I am not complaining! Our server was kind enough to answer our million questions about different sundaes, and even help us with some tasting. After much deliberation we decided to get a Hot Fudge Sundae, but instead of just 2 vanilla scoops, we got one scoop of choco chip with cookie dough and a scoop of pecan praline. The dessert came topped with loads of whipped cream and a cherry on top. We sat there for a bit enjoying our cold treat, and the whole place gave me a very warm and welcoming vibe. I loved the sundae we got, but I'd really like to try other savoury items on their menu the next time.

After sitting down, I opened yelp & saw all the 1 star reviews. Naturally I was worried. It wasn't that bad. The food was fine. Not great but not bad. My burger was well done (she didn't ask). Had an Mr. Pib with refills. It was nice. PS - open on New Year's Day.

All of the employees we encountered were very friendly. Ally was our server and was AMAZING. We told her it was our first time there and she gave us some great recommendations. They also made a really good margarita and I am not typically a fan of traditional margaritas. The food and drink recommendations she made for the table were great, and the onion rings are definitely the best ones we've had in the area since relocating here. Both sandwiches we had were great. The Chicken Philly had a little bit of a kick to it, which made it a nice change from usual Philly sandwiches and the Cuban was different from a traditional Cuban as it had some barbecue sauce on it. It was a little different for me at first, but I ended up really liking it. Both salads were pretty big and both people really liked the salads. The person that got the blackened grouper Baja salad thought that the grouper was fabulous, seasoned perfectly and loved the salad overall. This will definitely be a place added to our usual rotations...

Great casual atmosphere, the staff have really come into their own, and the food is simple but has little touches that often make it a small cut above most other sports bar type places around. My favorite things to order are the smashburgers, chicken philly (almost as good as the one at Old Town, a restaurant also belonging to this same owner), and now the fish and chips. I decided to get those last night, and the fish was two good size thick cod filets, fried and breaded perfectly. The fish was flaky and tender, the remoulade it came with really elevated it, I'm glad it was not plain tartar sauce (gross). The appetizer favorite here is the pulled pork nachos for me, otherwise, we usually just get meals. If I had one small complaint, it's that the tea is usually brewed pretty weak. Steep it a little longer, and you've got me fully hooked.

So we had to request silverware. Back to the steak.... Cooked PERFECTLY..... zero seasoning. Added a little salt and requested steak sauce and the steak was demolished. My wales saw my water getting low and said she was coming with more water. I finished my water she came by and asked if we needed anything.... Water please. With a few adjustments to the obvious (having silverware at the table when seating customers, and keeping a real eye out for drinks) this place might be alright. The servers were pleasant and the place wasn't crowded at all. A total of 4 other parties were in and out during our visit.

My husband and I were in downtown Greensboro on a Saturday afternoon and decided to hit this place up for lunch. When they called the place The Bodega, they really mean it's a bodega. It's decked out like a small convenience store from the second you walk in. We ordered our food at the cash register to eat at one of their tables outside. The cashier brought our sandwiches out about 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the Turkey Caesar. It had turkey, shaved parmesan, marinated cherry tomato, house-made Caesar dressing, onion, and romaine lettuce in an 8" sandwich roll. It was a little pricey at $15, but it was worth the splurge. The dressing and parmesan cheese were unbelievable! Since this is in downtown Greensboro, there is no dedicated parking lot but we easily found street parking nearby. The place has a few tables outside for customers to enjoy their food. If you're looking for a good sandwich, I highly recommend checking The Bodega out.

It's a little set back from the main thorughfare, but now with the food hall and other development happening nearby, I passed it a couple times and got curious about it, so finally stopped in. The building, the parking lot, everything about it is in serious need of a remodel. Curb appeal certainly limited, but I didn't feel that the inside was unclean in any way. Just very old and dated. Places like this often sneakily have some of the best food, so this didn't deter me. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you, get your own drinks, which really is about all I ever want in a sandwich shop. I had the club sandwich with fries. It came on nicely grilled bread with a decent amount of cold cuts, cheese, and bacon. They subbed in honey mustard to replace the mayo as I asked. It came with a HUGE order of fries! The fries were well done, maybe a little more cooked than most would prefer, but they were perfect for me. If I had eaten them all, I would have been very full. Flavor on everything was satisfying, nothing crazy, price was pretty good as well. Overall, I think I would come back here on occasion, for those times where you need "just a lunch" where it would serve me well.
