Relocation and addition of downspouts so as not to further sink the foundation of my home. I have spoken to Justin and Victor for some time to have this situation resoled. My 24 x 12 patio cover only has one 2" x 2" downspout and the water is not running away from my foundation, but towards it in the rear of my house. In the front of the house, one downspout directs the water down a sidewalk and I have had to put a trashcan and syphon water to keep it from coming under house. Foundation has been sinking. The second one on the front porch is just dumping to the foundation of the sidewalk and the corner of the garage, not away from the house. I will be continuing to forward photos and videos reflecting problems to Victor and Justin. Possible law suit could follow if not corrected immediately. read more

I had a 14x15 awning installed that required some special cantilever support features to avoid columns. They took care of all this through the city permit process with ease. Excellent customer service in the design process through installation. The install took less than 1 day on my project. The install crew was very efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. We contacted the Company and they immediately sent us a Rep named Justin Christensen. He was very nice and professional. He explained the whole process to us and made our decision to install very easy. We submitted the plans to the HOA associations. They were approved based on the excellent package Justin created for us. The company took care of the Permits. Within a few weeks the installers came and completed the Job. I used this companies online messaging system to inquire the cost of one of the DIY awning kits. I received a response saying it depends on the size. I further inquired asking you don't have a price range to provide when people ask this question? The response was $10,000. No additional information, no we'd love to set up a time to give you a proper estimate, absolutely no attempt at customer service here. This company is such a scam. Joe, who's an estimator, came to my parents home and gave them a quote for 2 projects, he had originally quoted them $4.6k for both projects with the cash discount; the next day he tells my parents that after talking to his boss his original quote was incorrect. Incorrect and wayyyy off is what it was, instead of being 4.6k for both projects together (2.3k each), now it was $4.3k for each independent project. $4.3k each! It went from $4.6k to $8.6k! Completely unacceptable! What a rip off and shady! To add on to that mess, the ETA for completion was 7 wks. Now you want to know why I know this quote and time estimation was complete bull, we got another quote from a different reliable company. For the same 2 projects my parents wanted, this other company quoted them at $2.8k for BOTH projects together and ETA completion of 2 wks at the most. Don't waste your time with this company. There's no excuse for that. If your estimator was having a bad day or going through some stuff and you KNEW (since that's exactly what you told my mom), then maybe you should've given him the day off. But I'm doubting that's what was really going on, and in reality, your business practice is really just as shitty as your quotes. read more

Although Joe, the salesman, is a respectable guy the work that was done was sloppy and displeasing. I was quoted $15,500 for a glass enclosure sunroom. When they completed the work my screen door would not shut, I had leaks seeping through the glass when it rained. The day before it rained my husband had arranged for carpet to be installed, luckily we waited to install the carpet otherwise we would have damaged the carpet. There was globs of caulking unsmoothed, it looked as if my kids had caulked the enclosure. There were also scratches on the material. Although they provided me with a $600 discount and attempted repairs, I am not satisfied with the look of the installation. They never repaired the scrapes on the material. The only reason I would give them two stars would be because Joe and Ken are nice respectable men, but the work was just awful. I contacted the company to speak with the manager but the manager never returned my call. I would not recommend to anyone. I paid way too much and if I could, I would have asked them to uninstall and gotten my money back. read more

I had Sunshield install a patio cover in September. I paid for and they put in a beam for a ceiling fan (which they do not install). Now (June) have my electrician ready to install the fan, but we could not find the beam. The sales rep Justin said the installer Victor could identify where it was if I sent him pictures. He could not. Victor came to the house and looked and still could not identify where it was. He suggested drilling a hole (or more) in the top roof to find it and then caulk the hole(s). My electrician and I thought this was not a good idea. With much trouble from the bottom, he found the beam which was not properly attached to the house. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Nice to talk to. Inadequate work. By the way, the roof has leaked along the house twice, and they had to caulk again and again. read more

Upon relocation to Sun City in Nevada, I felt I needed the added comfort of a patio enclosure, primarily to place a cat tree there safely for my sr. cat, but ALSO to curtail the pigeon issue and that of an occasional stray rat (unconcerned about coyotes in my situation) I perused several on this site - some quite costly for the work/material needed and I eliminated them promptly. Durakool was attentive, I liked their style and the price was right. I would advise those looking to do the same to consider them as a vendor for service. I would also advise one and all to really be sure of specifically (underlined!) KNOW what you need and want - because it matters in the variety of choices. A seasoned sales person is ALWAYS a plus and if you have a "rookie" - be sure to ask all questions so you get a feel they know where you are coming from. It does take "two" to do it RIGHT! read more

Had some issues with supply chain due to COVID so had to try to be patient, but once they got the materials, Ken did an OUTSTANDING job of installation. One time we had a bolt come out probably 10 years after install and I called Them and the owner came over the next day and totally replaced the whole pole with no questions asked. James gave me a quote on a carport 7/5 for $ 1822. Them the same we accepted, then he came the next day to collect the 15% deposit to start the job. Then all of a sudden veteran worker of 45 years had missed all these installation charges. So he had to give us another quote of $2100. I called the owner and he said sorry people make mistakes and would not budge of the original quote. The owner said he was on vacation and said he couldn't do nothing about it. While the salesman was dressed nicely, professional and polite, he would only sell us the most expensive carport package they had. We were shocked by the price and asked him to give us a quote for the other carports shown on their website. We called him back and told him that was way above what we wanted, so he looked over the bid and after a few adjustments, said that was still the only option they would "recommend" and could only adjust it from over $14,000 to $12,000. Even when we called to speak with who we thought may be the owner, he wouldn't acknowledge that they had other carports at a more reasonable price and he stood behind the overpriced first bid. We finally called the manufacturer and they were upset that they hrefused to show us any other options when in fact they have several in our price range, and will be sending out a different rep to us. Don't use this company. They only want to sell their most expensive car ports and will lie about any other options. THE OWNER'S RESPONSE WAS RIDICULOUS AND SHOWS THAT HE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HE TRIED TO UPSELL US ON A UNIT WE DIDN'T NEED OR WANT AND REFUSED TO ADDRESS THAT HE HAS OTHER UNITS AT LOWER PRICES THAT THE MANUFACTURER SAYS HE IS SUPPOSED TO SELL IN OUR MARKET. Valerie, in the office, was the greatest help in providing us with updates and kept things running smoothly and on track. We have had several hard rains and no leaks. I waited a couple months or so to see if my feelings would change on our Sunshield room. We moved to another part of town and wanted to add a small sun room from the master bedroom. We paid cash for the whole thing (paying the required first half upon paperwork completion) and I have to say, for such a large investment I am disappointed with the room bordering on hating it. First, we knew we had to wait until after the Holidays as they were busy with another job. Not a problem but after the Holidays it was frustating. It took several days to hear from anyone and I called. The first day an installer was to show up, no-one did and finally arranged for the next day. The Sales person was very pleasant and informative. His large book of pictures was impressive but the room just isn't impressive to me. Ben the owner was helpful when I had an issue with the worker not showing up when he said he would and never called. Communication between the installer and customer was lacking to say the least. It got better in the two weeks it took to put this small room up but it is like he moves to his own music and there is no urgency to get this job done to move on to the next job. I swear my husband would have had it up in far less time. The room scares me to death with all its' popping, clicking, snapping when the weather gets warmer (I can't wait to hear what it sounds like in winter) and sometimes I swear I heard someone tapping at a window out there. I noted that it wasn't 24 hours and the Sales Rep was calling to come pick up the remaining payment. Just not impressed with the room and will not be hiring them or anyone else with that type of walls to do our next larger sun room. I see 3 glowing reviews but I doubt I will recommend Sunshield Patio Covers to anyone in the future. read more

This was by far the best contractor experience I have had. And that is saying a lot because I have dealt with many contractors in Las Vegas and in other states. I am in the middle of renovating a tiny house and I wished to convert my back patio into an outside laundry room / sun room. The job was on the smaller side. Many other patio companies I contacted for bids wouldn't even give me the time of day unless I wanted to drop over $10,000. Sunshield was the exception. I was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. (This is especially important because I am a woman and as any woman who has dealt with contractors knows sometimes they do not take you seriously. ) Joe was a delight. He came out and walked me through my various options of materials and price points. He was very thorough, even drawing out plans and taking measurements. He answered all my questions (of which I had a billion) and alleviated concerns I had regarding a poorly placed hose bib on the back patio. He was also just a very generally friendly and helpful guy and offered some good advice and tips regarding other renovations I was in middle of. His attention to detail was excellent. Once confirmed, I was told it would be a few weeks while they ordered materials to complete my sunroom, which I was expecting. But the materials came early. A pleasant surprise! All of their workers were professional, on time and did excellent work. The contractor who put up the screen walls I believe was named Bill. Like Joe, Bill was also extremely friendly and considerate. He was one of the few contractors I trusted to just show up, do the work well and not have to be constantly supervised. I cannot be happier with the work and my sun room. The workmanship and quality is excellent. They also worked with me on price since my budget was limited. And the professionalism was a sheer pleasure. I wish all my contractor experiences were as easy and pleasant as the one I had with Sunshield. read more
