    Tenderloin with Fries

The food was magnificent and pretty good for my third yelp at this place. The service was magnificent and the food came out 14 minutes and 40 seconds after the order was taken. The ambiance is pretty clean and pretty great. In my overall opinion this is the best diner/cafe that Muncie has besides Riverside Cafe.

I was in Muncie to visit family and decided to take my Dad out for breakfast. He loves going here. I didn't mind either as they have three or so pages of breakfast options. The prices are pretty reasonable and they also have smaller options if you aren't very hungry. I decided on the combo breakfast that let me choose a few of the options. I do love grits and they had this as a choice. Also biscuits instead of toast. I added scrambled eggs and a pork sausage patty. My eyes were bigger than my appetite but like man can food as I ate it everything tasted so good that I just had to try and eat most of it. I couldn't finish half of my last biscuit and a little of the grits. Everything tasted great. The grits were very good. Service was quick as well. It was a very busy Saturday morning and our food came out pretty quick. The only minor area fir improvement we both noted was the coffee as it tasted weaker than our liking but was still adequate.

Corned Beef Hash and 2 Eggs

The Sunshine Cafe is a nice place to stop in for a traditional breakfast. It's an older facility. However it is clean and large so they move people along. The decor is dated. However the wait staff hustles and is as friendly as they can be handling a large number of customers in short order. My wife had the fresh fruit and omelette combo. She said that the fruit was the freshest she had tasted during and season time. She thought the omelette was good as well. I ordered the corned beef hash with two eggs and a side pancakes. The pancakes were excellent- light and fluffy. The butter and syrup just topped the cakes off to perfection. The eggs were cooked like I would expect - hard to mess up over easy eggs. I will admit the not Many people make corned beef hash taste good. I gambled and decided to give Sunshine a shot at it. The corned beef hash ended up being an over cooked patty of meat & potatoes. It didn't have much corned beef taste as the over grilling taste dominated the flavor. This isn't usual for most breakfast places though. Looking for a solid breakfast at moderate prices....give the Sunshine a try!

I was on a business trip to Muncie and consulted Yelp for a place for breakfast. As usual, my fellow Yelpers steered me right. Upon arrival you'll be greeted by a bright sunshine yellow exterior, fitting of its name. As I walked in, I was greeted in less than a minute and seated in less than 3 mins! The menu has many great options for breakfast (and any time of day). It says they are open 24/7. I was greeted by the waitress promptly and had a cup of great coffee in hand shortly along with a carafe to refill whenever I needed! I ordered the "Western Boatload" pictured below. Delivered to my table in a timely manner-It was great! I recommend The Sunshine Cafe for breakfast! Based on that, I would have to imagine it's good any time of day or night!

Only been there for breakfast food and I have no complaints except about the eggs. They are rubbery and sometimes come out cold.

Walking in is like walking into a museum of sorts. Gas station memorabilia alongside coke memorabilia etc. has you stepping back in time. Housed in what looks like an old gas station, this place drips of nostalgia. Ordering at the counter before being seated, we were waited on by a cheerful young woman who didn't make us feel rushed. It had been five years since we had last been, so we needed a refresher course. We ordered the Cammack Cheesy Jalapeño Burger on Texas toast each. Husband had loaded tots with cheese and chili and I opted for a side of onion rings. My mom had the pulled pork on Texas toast and onion rings. Dad had the breaded tenderloin with sweet potato fries. The food was phenomenal. The onion rings were fresh and plentiful. The tots were delicious. The burger? Spicy and extremely tasty! Everything was perfect. The marshmallow cokes just added to it all. Yum! Husband had the peanut butter explosion for dessert. Frozen custard, softened peanut butter, Reese's Pieces and peanut butter cups topped with cream and a cherry. A must try. I chose the one scoop sundae with hot fudge and peanuts. Excellent. While this restaurant may be a little out of the way, it is most definitely worth the trip! Highly recommend!

I was told that pretty much everything is great here, and that's true. I ordered quite a few things, and I loved all of them. The Cammack Cheezy Jalapeno was what jumped out at me first (a burger with cream cheese, pepper jack cheese and jalapeños). It's not spicy at all, but it does have a nice kick. The cream cheese mellows things out, so it's a nice, flavorful burger. I also got the loaded cheese fries, because I couldn't help myself. The fries came topped with barbecue pork, but I could have chosen chili or bacon. But why would I have? Pulled pork is always the right choice. The fries were good and cheesy, and had a lot of pulled pork on them. This is the part of the review where I tell you that you need to order your food and sweet treats at separate counters. Because I didn't know that! I ordered a root beer float and a banana split from one counter, and they were waiting for me at another counter. I didn't know that sweet treats should be ordered and picked up at the ice cream counter, but now you know. You're welcome. This is diner food at its finest. Lots of fried things and malts and burgers and stuff. Definitely come for the food, because it's great. But also come for the decor and atmosphere. Cammack Station is like stepping back into the 1950s, in the best way.

I don't play with donuts. I'm a donut-eating fool. Donuts are my thing. I have glaze running through my bloodstream. I've never eaten better donuts than the ones I got from Concannon's in Muncie. In fact, I'm planning another trip to Muncie JUST to visit Concannon's and get some donuts. What's a two-hour round-trip drive when you can be rewarded with amazing donuts during your journey? I visited Concannon's by myself, and although I wanted one of each of the donuts they had in the bakery case, I limited myself to three donuts: a glazed pretzel-shaped yeasted donut, a blueberry cake donut and an old fashioned donut. My go-to at any donut shop is usually a glazed twist, but they don't have glazed twists here! Instead, they have a glazed pretzel-shaped donut, which turned out to have all of the elements of a glazed twist, but it was just bigger and more twisty. It was amazing, pillowy, slightly sweet and even more delicious when you pull it apart with your fingers and eat it bit by bit. The blueberry cake and old-fashioned donuts were my favorites, though. These melted in my mouth, especially the old-fashioned. It was so tender and fresh. The old-fashioned is one of those kinds of donuts that I wish I enjoyed with some coffee, but instead, I ate it solo while dancing around delightedly in my hotel room. Concannon's has lots of other sweets, desserts and baked goods, like cakes (including mini cakes and individual cake slices), cookies, whoopie pies, chocolates, popcorn, candies and all sorts of other goodies. There is also a cafe with coffee and other beverages available. This is a must-visit if, like me, you love donuts, but also a must-visit in general because it's such a Muncie institution.
