If you're looking for a clean, well-lit 24-hour laundromat in the Port Jefferson area, this should be your top choice. I work late and often do not have time to do laundry during reasonable business hours. There have been many times Sunshine Laundromat has saved me by being open late when I run out of clean underwear or right before a business trip when I haven't had time to pack until the night before. In addition to their late hours, they're also the cheapest laundromat in the area thanks to the free drying. I usually do laundry alone and have always felt safe inside. The staff is friendly and easy to find when it comes time to load the dryer and get the free drying. There are a lot of amenities - free wifi, an ATM on site (they don't take credit cards), change machines, coke and snack machines, arcade games, a massage chair, coin-op soap dispensers, an internet-enabled computer, and free coffee when you do your laundry in the morning. At the counter, they have a large selection of soaps, fabric softeners, laundry bags, etc. (note - soaps are pretty pricey; best to bring your own). They also have three widescreen TVs and cable so you can watch tv while you fold clothes. They have at least 50 washing machines and two walls of dryers, and maybe ten long folding tables. What I like best about this place is that it is well lit and clean, clean, clean. If something spills, they mop it up right away, so it never has a dingy feeling. The machines are in good repair but if one goes down they will refund you and put a sign up. The cleanliness and lighting contribute to a safe feeling, which is important for me in any place I might be frequenting alone late at night. There is plenty of free parking in the lot they share with some sort of kids playcenter and a trophy shop. The lot is right across from the train station so occasionally there is an inebriated or otherwise sketchy person in the lot hanging out. I have seen the owners ask such people to leave the property and it has never been a problem. Also, late at night it is easy to park right next to the building, and twice staff members have offered to help me to the car at night to ensure my safety (the lot was empty both nights but I appreciated the offer). That alone would earn them points in my book, but the rest of their business is also great. In addition to the self service machines, they also do drop-off service, which is charged by the pound. Prices per load: $2.75 - single $4.75 - double $5.75 - triple $6.75 - "super giant" Note: This business occupies the same site of the old Port Jefferson Launder Center, right across the street from the Port Jefferson train station. It has been under new management and using the new name for a couple years now.

They use to have free drying.

This place is again 24hr. Not to bad of a place. They use to have free drying if you washed there, but now gotta pay for it. Was over 2yrs. The crowd isn't that great from week to week. The staff is ever changing the Machines are okay. Always hard to find a dryer there is so many of them always taken up with very little people in here. Plus dryers almost always need more time. Will be shopping around to see if there's any better deals.

DO NOT GO HERE!! The most disgusting, rude and nastiest business I have ever encountered in my life. I spent $10 washing my clothes here and like others have stated, they didn't come out clean. It looked like I hadn't washed them at all. My jeans and clothes were filthy. I told the attendant and he said there was nothing he could do and to come back in the day time when management was there. To prove that I was there and the condition of my clothes after washing and drying them, we recorded a video. I went back on Tuesday and explained what happened with 2 pairs of my dirty jeans in hand and asked for something to be done about it. The 2 ladies there denied it, claimed that no one complains (which I doubt...there are complaints on here and Google about their clothes not coming out clean) and basically refused to do anything about it. I told them that it was on video and I would be posting about it online and would take the business to small claims. They both were nasty and one got on the phone. I thought she was calling a higher manager and left. I go to my car and put my laundry basket inside. A few minutes later the woman that was on the phone comes outside and waving her arms and asks me to come back in and bring my clothes. I assumed she talked to a supervisor who told her to resolve the situation and re-wash my clothes. When I get back inside, she tells me to wait there because she called the cops!!!!!!! I informed her that cops are called for actual crimes, not because a customer complains about dirty clothes. I left and am livid!! I have never had the cops called on me in my life. I have all of this on video and I will be suing this business for this entire incident. Totally unacceptable behavior that will not be tolerated.

Fabulous service as always. **** Dry cleaning of jackets, coats and sweater lost. Tried reaching them via the phone (646-415-7667), email, and online request form. No response whatsoever. Went to their listed physical address at 730 Columbus Ave., it turns out to be a liquor store and an apartment building. Neither of them is aware of fancy pants cleaners. It makes me wonder if they are still open for business. To be fair, I have been using their services for 2 years now and this is the first time I really had to contact them for something lost. They have been awesome otherwise, except the lack of responsiveness this time. I will update this review when I manage to reach someone who works there.

I've been using Fancy Pants for W&F, laundering men's shirts, and dry cleaning for almost 3 years…read morenow. They are super convenient and offer excellent value -- cheaper than the nearby cleaners in every neighborhood I've used them so far (Harlem, Morningside Heights, and now FiDi). Not quite as cheap as a place in El Barrio I used to frequent, but that place was also cash only, and of course did not offer pickup / delivery service. Like any service, Fancy Pants is not perfect. Over the years I've had: * One pair of custom wool suit trousers completely ruined. Looks like it was put thru the wash on high heat; came back scratchy and 4 inches shorter. After sending it back for examination, we settled on $100 store credit toward future orders. * High end flannel shirts lost their brushed luster after just 1-2 washes. I suspect they did not follow my special instructions, but instead machine dried them with the rest of the normal cotton shirts. I did not complain, simply opting to hand wash such items myself from then on...IMO, it's best to leave the "special instructions" section to stain treatment & dry cleaning, rather than freeform requests. * Twice, an entire load of W&F was swapped with someone else's. Both times, they called me promptly (before I had even discovered it!) and exchanged the bag asap. * A few misc items that don't belong to me have appeared in my W&F. Nothing serious, just the occasional sock or panty. The one time it was multiple items in the same wash, I emailed them a photo, which they promptly identified and picked up within the hour. All in all, I'd call this above average. Notably, I've never lost a button off any of my shirts or jackets, nor had a sleeve or collar ripped -- usually those symptoms are par for the course with automated press machines over the long haul, unless you pay $5+ for your shirts to be hand finished, which I do not. Nor have I had any permanent stains, nor had dyes bleeding to/from other garments. Occasionally, it takes more than 1 email or voicemail to get Veronica's attention, but once we're in touch they are quite responsive. I'm happy to be an ongoing customer.

I read the reviews online and decided I would wash the Family Clothes here. I called the Laundry before heading there, I wanted to know what time the last wash was. The Owner stated "8:30pm". I was at the location close to 6pm. There were no other Customers, only the Attendant and her 2 kids. As we walked in we were not greeted by the Attendant, only stared at. The Attendant did not say if you need any assistance, I am here to help. We were only greeted with a glaring stare. My Daughter is like why is she staring at us like that. The washing machines and dryers are new and the place is spotless. This is a Coin Laundromat, No Laundry Cards. My Son who is Autistic is seated, while my Daughter and I Load the Clothes into the machine. The washing machines are new to me, there are knobs instead of just pushing the Start Button and the all the machines are on the cold water setting. I ask the Laundry Attendant, how do you set the Machines on the Hot Setting. With reluctance she comes over and shows my Daughter and I. Before you start the washing machines you have to put in the Laundry Detergent First. I used three $3.75 Machines one would not start, I asked the Attendant for assistance she came over and could not get the machine to start. The Attendant instead of telling me to take another washing machine tells me to wait. She calls her Employer and tells him about the situation. Once she receives permission from her Employer, I transfer my clothes to another machine. I state to the Attendant "what about the Laundry Detergent and fabric softener that I used in your machine to wash my clothes"? I have more than a load of Laundry. The Attendant makes another Phone Call to her Employer with his permission I am given 3 small Tide Pods. I said to the Attendant you do not expect my clothes to be washed properly with those pods, I will also need Laundry Detergent and fabric softener. The Attendant gets flustered but comes back with a small bottom of Laundry Detergent. She puts it on the washing machine, I open the bottle to pour the detergent, she again gets flustered. She gets on the Phone and says "Loco" to her Employer. The Laundry has Cameras and the whole time the Owner of the Laundry is watching. The Owner comes in proceeds to walk past me and talks to the Attendant in Spanish, relieving her while telling her it will be ok, do not look so sad. The Owner disregards me again, walks to the washing machine that would not start, then proceeds to fix the mechanism to get the washing machine to start. He begins getting boisterous and pretentious "stating this is ridiculous, this is ridiculous you could have broken my $2,000/$3,000 washing machine look how much Laundry Detergent you used, Unbelievable"! The man is a joke. You are starting the washing cycle with no clothes, listen to yourself. My Daughter and I look at each other and say in unison "ridiculous" I state " you have no integrity the attendant glared the whole time and saw what happened with the machine all she had to do was state to me is, "use another machine"! I said to him "your Attendant should be helpful not hesitant"! "Listen, I will never step foot in this place again, this is Lynbrook it does not surprise me". The Owner " I am Puerto Rican do not play that Card with me, I have plenty of Black Customers that are happy". "This Black Customer is not happy". The Owner is a White Hispanic and I let him know you are White, he does not know the difference between race and ethnicity. I proceed to tell him, "I will let the public know", he backs down. He walks past me, goes to the Front Counter and proceeds to watch me and my kids. By this time the Laundry is in the Dryers and one of the Dryers is out of order, his $2000/$3000 Machines. He mutters "Monkey" I remain calm, I just want to leave. Once the Dryers stop, I pack up the Clothes with the help of my kids do just that. I did not utter another word, just left. I WONDER ALL THE TIME IS THIS 2022, IT IS EXHAUSTING BEING STARED AT, DISREGARDED AND BEING TREATED DIFFERENTLY DUE TO THE COLOR OF YOUR SKIN! I FORGET TO MENTION THIS LAUNDROMAT ALSO HAVE A DROP OFF SERVICE, I WATCHED THE ATTENDANT GREET THE WHITE CUSTOMERS WHO DROPPED OFF THEIR LAUNDRY WITH A FRIENDLY GREETING AND WARM SMILE, UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
