I had to wake up early; had a long day ahead of me; and locked myself out of my house when I went to pick up the mail. Brian is right! There are decent people still on this earth. I thought I was capable of changing a basic front door nob and lock for my tenant but I was wrong so I called sunshine locksmith. He said he could get to me in 20 mins. He arrived in 15. Problem fixed and tenants happy again in 30 mins. Tab came to $120. All I had on me at that time was $105. So the guy told me "no problem". I had a suit case that needed to be unlocked thanks to the TSA for locking my suitcase--still not sure how they locked my suitcase when even I don't have the key. I called sunshine locksmith, and they were the only available locksmith that I called that could unlock my suitcase without having to break the entire thing. Just 30 minutes after calling and after I sent them a picture, Sean arrived at my place. All the other locksmiths had said they would arrive 3-4 hours later, and quoted higher prices as well. After a couple minutes of picking at the suitcase, he was able to unlock it without damaging anything, and was extremely friendly throughout the process. He gave me $10 when I mentioned finding him on Yelp, and was an all-around efficient, friendly guy and incredibly easy to talk to. I've never used a locksmith service before, and I hope I don't have to use one again. That moment when you realized you have the door slammed locked behind you is never fun. Fortunately, I had my phone in my pocket, so I quickly searched yelp (still using WIFI from my house) and found these guys at 10PM on a weeknight. They came in 15-20 minutes while I was anxiously waiting with a cigarette in my hand. A guy showed up with 2 sets of tools, he worked his magic and Voila! Within 3 minutes I was back in my place. I locked my two dogs in the car, on our way to the dog park. I kept telling them to use their thumbs, but they wouldn't listen! I called the non- emergency police, and they wouldn't help me. I called the fire department, and they were busing doing their thing at a construction fire. Avi has helped me out twice now. I found his services on Yelp when I first moved to Oak about a month ago and needed my front door and balcony locks changed. I made an appointment for the Sun on which I was moving. I had to call him and reschedule for later in the day when my movers experienced delays. My daughter was locked herself out of the house and we called lots of locksmith; and we chose Sunshine Locksmith. I'm a mom; and I live in San Diego, but my daughter lives in Oakland. And I was concerned about a locksmith coming so late in the night since she lives in the back it's secluded and dark back there at night. But it was something about his voice when I called and spoke with him over the phone that just kind of relaxed my nerves and made me very comfortable plus the price was reasonable. We called back and forth a few times and it was late in the morning when she finally got to her house and he met her there. My daughter was rude when she called him because she was mad and she took it out on him; and even though she was rude he still came. I wish he could have replaced it as well but my guess is that the cylinder we required wasn't readily available (I myself had a hard time location a replacement and ended up replacing the entire knob).
