By 8:45 PM, we were still in the parking lot and the key was not working. Because I had a flight to catch early the next morning, I suggested that we stop and put everything back together. However, he encouraged me to allow him to continue programming the key. He told me if he put the pieces back my car would be loud and the alarm would keep setting off. He finally completed the work on Monday, and my father picked up my car on my behalf since I was out of the country. When I returned and got my car back, there were components that had not been reassembled. In addition, new issues had developed: 3 of 4 windows no longer roll down, and the driver's side door no longer locks properly. I now have to lock the car by opening the rear door and manually pushing down the lock. I attempted to replace the window fuses, which temporarily restored function, but the fuse now shorts every time the windows are used. The driver's door continues to malfunction, never fixed that part. He was very nice and clearly works hard; however, I wish that if he was unable to program the key, he had communicated that upfront rather than continuing to work on my vehicle. This process resulted in several hours of lost time, significant expense, and additional damage to my car. I have now paid $740 for this service and will need to go to the dealership to address the issues caused, with no way of knowing what the additional repair costs will be. I have been told by him that I need to travel to Hayward or Oakland, but I live in Sunnyvale. As a single mother of two, it is extremely difficult to find the time to make these trips, especially after already spending days previously waiting while the issue was unresolved. As a business owner, taking payment for work that resulted in further damage rather than a solution has made this an unfortunate and highly inconvenient experience.

The person said to make it easier he would need to drill some holes to help hide the wires. He asked if we had paint and said he could patch it. Next thing you know we have a 5"x5" hole in our fireplace along with holes in another wall. The patch was left unfinished. He said he had a paint brush initially and then later said he didn't. Pretty sure he was using a paper towel. Then told me I should paint it in an hour. Called their office and Nikki told me their team doesn't do paint or patching...ok. Why say you can? She couldn't tell me when someone would be back out and never called me back. So we have a mounted tv but now we need a professional painter to come fix the botched patch. Not to mention I spent 30 mins cleaning up after they left.

I already knew the safety sensors were not working but wasn't sure what the issue might be. The technician arrived and I explained what I had already done to troubleshoot the issue, including installing new sensors. He indicated it was likely the wires or the circuit board inside the opener itself. I asked if he could simply test to see if power was getting to the sensors before running new wires. He connected a new wire to one of the sensors he removed from its bracket and said, yes that's the problem, you need new wires ran from the opener to the sensors. So I asked "what would that charge be?". He indicated he would charge $50 + $175 =$225.00. I opted not to have him run the wires. He then said the charge would then just be $175. He said it was for his "experience and for his time to come to our house". I asked so what was the "free estimate?" By his definition, the "Free Estimate" was simply him showing up, but I needed to pay for his expertise. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO GET A FREE ESTIMATE OF THE WORK NECESSARY TO RESOLVE YOUR GARAGE DOOR ISSUE.

I ordered a garage door with a certain style of window 'inserts' that match my other windows in my home. He showed up promptly on the day of the install and the installation went good, except that he had to install a basic plain window because the window style I ordered had not yet arrived. He told me as soon as it came in he'd come and swap them out. About three weeks after the install I called to get a status. He said it would be taken care of soon. A few weeks later I called again and left a message, that I was somewhat upset it had not been done and I have not heard from him. I did not get a call-back. It has now been over 2 months since the installation and I am quite certain he has no intention of delivering the product I ordered which is unfortunate since he seems like a nice guy and did a good job installing the door. I actually gave him two stars because he did a good job, he was prompt and seemed like a good guy. I just don't understand why he never delivered my windows.

I lost my key ring - something that I'm sure has happened to most people at least once in their lives... Car keys , work keys storage unit keys - all gone. The last 2 were easily handled but what about the car? This happened to me just days after relocating to Oakland from the South Bay. Who to call? What kind of timeline? After reading the Yelp reviews for Sunshine Locksmith, I completed the online form on the company's website and waited for a callback. I didn't have long to wait. Avi reassured me that he could take care of this easily and quickly. Whew! What a relief. I called Avi as soon as I got home from work, and he said he would arrive in about 1/2 hour. He did, and within minutes I had a key which would start the car! Very grateful and impressed, I would recommend Avi and Sunshine Locksmith - unreservedly. Sunshine Locksmith saved the day! Came home from a long day at work to find that I had locked myself out of my bedroom and that the previous tenant had broken the key off in the lock. I first called another company that was closest to me called All Ways Lockout Service. They told me they could only give me a quote after a $15 service visit, and the technician would call me with an ETA. The "technician" finally called back an hour later sounding drunk. After trying to get a ballpark quote from him, he told me "I can do anything you want me to do, chicaaa". Really professional. Finally, I called Sunshine Locksmith. Avi quoted me $85 and arrived about 20 minutes after I called. Didn't take him long to drill out the knob and unlock the door. He even gave me $10 off since I mentioned Yelp.
