He said he would upgrade us to a safe room that would only cost "a little more." Maybe it was our faults for not getting a contract before he started working but as I mentioned, we had worked with and trusted Vince for many years. When he handed us a bill for $111k you can imagine how sick we felt. He took advantage of our trust and in the end we lost. Also know that his safes are refurbished from auctions. Some are in great shape, others we're faulty and didn't come a TL-30 rating which makes them impossible to resell. It saddens me that I have to post this but hopefully I can protect other people from being taken advantage of. Vince and his team are good at what they do but he can be careless and negligent. Another example is when we warned him about our new property being on a steep hill and he said "not to worry." Well "not to worry" included me calling triple AAA to get him towed and then renting a skid steer to pull the safes up to our property ourselves. Another occasion Vince was upset with my fiancé because he didn't rent the right fork lift. Usually companies would be responsible for reserving their own capital equipment as we have zero experience in that. (Even after all of that we continued to do business with him because we're understanding and loyal people.) Get everything in writing and make sure you over communicate with him about little changes that happen along the way because a little change might cost you $40-$50k!

California Safe & Lock was the only shop that quoted me half the cost of the others and confirmed it was a fixed price that would not increase. On top of that, throughout all our communications, Sergei was very pleasant and easy to coordinate with. Based on our conversations and the pricing, I felt confident that Sergei was the obvious choice, so we scheduled him to come out. He and his crew arrived in a small, discreet box truck with no signage advertising anything about "safes," which I later learned from another review was a great idea--since it doesn't advertise to the neighborhood that there's a safe at the location. That subtle detail goes a long way in showing the care they extend to their customers, in my opinion. They arrived on time, Sergei introduced himself and his crew, gathered a few additional details about the issue, and got right to work. The process was very methodical and handled with great care. They opened the safe expertly and efficiently. Sergei and his crew were amazing--personable, professional, and highly skilled--and I couldn't be happier with the service. I came to warman off of a recommendation and they were able to duplicate my keys for $4 each. It was a night and day difference, and the keys were super smooth and worked perfectly!
