A buddy of mine told me he takes his daughter here often (breakfast, after school), and just raved about it for a few minutes- definitely left an impression and I decided I had to take my kiddo (weather seemed perfect for the way my friend was describing it). The place is gorgeous, relaxing, welcoming. They have a little shop close to the water, with a walk-up window or drive through (we walked up). Walking up to the counter, we couldnt get over the beauty of the scenery. Service was great btw, the young lady was patient and nice, answered the few questions we had. We ended up ordering a jumbo sized chocolate strawberry smoothie (with whipped cream). As i finished paying, kiddo wanted to walk off and sit at the bench, so he did. Few moments went by of us gawking at the scenery and just how awesome of a spot it was (we were really hoping the drink came out good because we wanted to come back), and then the drink was ready.... maaaaan, that smoothie was delicious. It tasted fresh, and rich- it wasnt overly sweet, and the strawberry tasted fresh. We definitely will be coming back to try their foods, different drinks, and just take in the scenery. The staff were accommodating especially my first time there. I also got their detox water that has so many great fruits to drink on. I have been here a couple times in May and have enjoyed every smoothie I had which were the She Hulk and a Purple Hulk. I love this little hidden gem. It's a small brightly colored smoothie shack that sells fresh fruit, breakfast, smoothies, juice, and blended bowls. I love them for their Purple Giant smoothie because I can get a serving of beets blended up with my fruit so that I don't have to endure the taste of the beets by themselves. The servers are so nice that the name of the restaurant fits because they are as pleasant as sunshine and also prompt when preparing drinks. Sunshine Smoothie uses high-quality, fresh ingredients, which I really appreciate, but the smoothies themselves didn't taste that good to me. A lot of them end up tasting very similar and lean heavily gingery. I'd love to see more variety in the flavor profiles, something like a peanut butter, cacao nib, cinnamon, almond type of smoothie. I had forgotten about this place! Back when I worked in Vallejo and had to be at work before the sun, Sunshine Smoothies was my saving grace. Vallejo can be dark and stormy before 6 am and this location was one of the few places I could come for a true fruit smoothie or a authentic coffee drink without fake sweeteners or a ton of sugar. The family and I were headed to Mare Island for a drive when we started to pass the cute yellow and orange stand. I immediately turned into the driveway and got in the drive thru line because I hadn't been for a visit for 5 years and I wanted to see if the items still had the same quality. I ordered a caramel blended coffee drink and my husband ordered the Very Berry smoothie. We were told that there was a big order ahead of us, but we could move to cone #1 to wait for our order. We moved to the cone, turned the engine off and enjoyed the bay view. There was one person in front of us and 4 behind us, so they were crazy busy for such a small parking lot. When our order was ready less than 10 minutes later, we were greeted with medium drinks as a thank you for our patience. The owner didn't even have to do that! My drink was perfect. Not too sweet, and it actually tasted like caramel blended in a not too strong, brewed coffee! My husband's smoothie tasted like apples, strawberries, and blueberries and was the perfect refresher on a warm Sunday. I will be back. I am so glad that they are still open and I cannot wait for my next drink! Service is always friendly and you can tell that the people working the booth actually enjoy their job! Off the beaten path unless you commute to San Rafael or work out / work on mare island but they do have another location I recommend the ultra healthy juice and the red juice because I'm a fan of beets. Today was the 3rd time I've been to this location and the last 2 times I've visited the owner Carlos was there and assisted me. The first time I met him he suggested the Super Hulk smoothie...today he reminded that's what I got last time because I didn't remember the name. The smoothie was soooooooo good. I feel I like should've gotten 2 (I just had 2 teeth removed last week so I'm eating soft foods ). Both times I've encountered Carlos he's been so nice and welcoming. And we've had great conversations as well especially today. I really hope he's able to keep his store open and keep supplying Vallejo with great smoothies, food and customer service. I've lived in Vallejo all my life and have never really noticed this smoothie staple. It's easy to drive through and place an order, they even accept Apple Pay. They also have fresh fruits available for purchase and the workers are friendly. I would say their smoothies are definitely lighter and not as sweet as something like Jamba Juice but I prefer that. This sweet little drive thru coffee, smoothie and fruit stand is next to an abandoned gas station on the way to Hwy 780 from Hwy 37, and the sunshine is there!! My friend had ordered iced lattes and not only did they mess up their order, but they also overcharged them. They ordered an ice latte but was given hot. Instead of remaking their drinks, the barista just added ice into the hot coffee which essentially diluted the coffee. I got a small Berry Mix which was $5, which is a bit more than other smoothie places but you can really tell it's all fresh fruit and nothing else added; which is why I went here. Compared to other juice places like Jamba Juice, you genuinely feel refreshed after drinking it where sometimes the added sugars in other smoothies but other places just may weigh you down.
