When was the last time you had a sandwich so good you told all your friends about it? That was me today. My work buddies and I went to La Michoacana for lunch for the first time and loved it. They cook the tortas fresh and have a great selection. The ladies behind the counter are friendly and nice and keep a clean and welcoming space. We thoroughly enjoyed checking out all the cakes and pan Dulce while they worked their magic on our tortas. Go hungry!

After moving around this area, my fiancé and I are still on the hunt to try new foods in Vallejo. This was definitely a worthy visit! The store is across the street from La Tapatia where we also buy some of our carne asada or grilled chicken. From the reviews, I thought they only served paletas and I was amazed to see how many different flavors there were! But they also had cakes, mangonadas, drinks, tortas, and all different kinds of bakery breads. I got to try out the strawberry cream paleta and it was so refreshing and tasty! It was flavored well-balanced, not too sweet and not bland. My fiancé ordered the oreo paleta and it was also very flavorful. We were also curious of the horchata fresca. We had to try it! And it tasted like tasty strawberry milk. All of it was delicious and we can't wait to come back and try more paletas and their other foods!

We love coming here for pan before school and for a sweet treat after school. The marzipan ice cream is my personal favorite, but I love the rest of the options too! The staff is always friendly and attentive.

I purchased another Tres Leches Cake for a wonderful lady friend who reached the wonderful age of 97 on June 1. The cake was beautiful and most delicious. Thank you La Michoacana for being a part of celebrating Libby's blessed and happy birthday.

You. Need. To. Come. Here. This place is DELICIOUS. I have visited a few times to have their paletas and haheimpressed every single time. Their paletas are handmade and come in a huuuge variety of flavors. There's one for everyone's taste!! I haven't tried anything else but will definitely go back specifically to do so soon. The service is friendly, the dessert is tasty, and the prices are unbeatable. Check them out! Protip: the strawberries and cream paleta is my favorite!

Best Rosca de Reyes I've tried freshly baked still warm when we ate it. Also recommend paleta de fresas con crema.

Looking for some fresh paletas?? La Michoacana is your spot! But wait! They don't only sell delicious, fresh paletas! They also have baked goods, other desserts, and food! I have yet to try their torta (mexican sandwich). I only go here for their paletas, because it's super quick and convenient to me! They have a great variety of flavors! I do wish for them to make a horchata paleta!! Anywho, my favorites are the cookies & cream, strawberries & cream, and mamey! Trust me when I say "fresh!" I love how the paletas do not taste "heavy." They will for sure fulfill your cravings for something sweet, creamy, and fresh! Totes perfect for the summer ...perfect for everyday, actually! Located on a corner on Broadway St., so parking on the street is your best bet. Sure, their location doesn't look promising, but I promise you after one visit here, you'll be back for more! You're going to WANT to try their other ice cream and/or paleta flavors! And eat other things they have to offer! Their prices are oh so reasonable! Each paleta was about $2-$3! So if you plan on having family and friends over, this is a great and affordable dessert! Service here is always family friendly. So if you are ever driving pass Vallejo, I do recommend making a quick stop here!

My fave (maybe not so underrated) ice cream shop in Vallejo, and that's on that. Prices are still super reasonable- under $2 for a paleta without the choco dip, and under $3 for a choco dip + nuts. You can't beat that in most parts of the East Bay! They also have various ice cream flavors (available in scoop, milkshake, or sundae form) that are reasonably priced, and in flavors similar to what you'd find in the state of Michoacan in Mexico- and Mexico in general ex: chongos, jamaica, etc. They've also got other desserts, fruits, and baked goods that are self-serve, and the ladies working over the counter are very helpful! Stay cool, La Michoacana!

Two stars because the ladies were nice but they said it wasn't the same place on yelp which I showed them the name and photos showing it was a match anyway I took a picture of the name and they didn't have the cupcakes that they display on the photos, so waste of time and gas

My favorite was their chicken tinga, which reminded me of the chicken burritos I used to get back in my hometown across the bridge. I immediately told myself I'd have to come back and order a chicken tinga burrito. A few weeks later, I finally returned on a Sunday while they were serving their World Cup Sunday brunch. I ordered a chicken tinga super burrito and a California burrito to take home. I was really excited to dig in, but when I opened the bag, the "super" burrito looked more like a regular burrito. The flavors were still great, but the filling was disappointing. There was barely any chicken or sour cream, and I had to eat more than halfway through before I finally got a decent balance of meat, rice, and beans. I even had to add my own sour cream because there was so little inside. As for the California burrito, it was just okay. The fries were stale, and there wasn't enough sour cream or guacamole, which made the burrito pretty dry. It honestly reminded me more of a breakfast burrito than a California burrito, and I wasn't a fan. Overall, the flavors are definitely there, and it's clear the food has potential. However, the portions felt skimpy for the price, making the burritos feel overpriced. I'll give Sol y Sazon another chance because I know they're capable of making delicious food, but if my next experience is like this one, they'll likely lose me as a customer.

The line was considerably long around 7:30 p.m. so it took a while for us to order and receive our food. I like that the tacos here are single tortilla -- as opposed to double tortillas, so the filling to tortilla ratio feels a lot more balanced. For both tacos, the meat is incredibly tender and flavorful. Although a bunch of sauces and garnishes are provided, the taco was good enough on its own. Of the sauces we received, my favorites to add was a squeeze of lime and the red sauce, which had a nice smokey Chipotle flavor and wasn't overly spicy. My friend ordered a quesadilla and it was absolutely massive! I definitely would only recommending ordering a quesadilla if you're sharing it, or if you're coming with a massive appetite. Overall, Tacos El Sazón Oaxaqueño was a nice gem we randomly stumbled upon while routing to In-N-Out for burgers. MI JALISCO RESTAURANTE -- SOMEONE CALL THE TACO POLICE BECAUSE THIS FOOD IS ILLEGAL!…read more HOLY CR*P... I HAVE FOUND THE GOOD STUFF! I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS RESTAURANTE!!! I ordered the Birria Tacos and the Torta Ahogada Mi Jalisco, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this was some of the BEST Mexican food I've probably ever eaten. And I've eaten a LOT of Mexican food. The birria tacos were so damn good I briefly considered hiding under the table so nobody could see me ordering another round. The flavor was on point, the meat was fantastic, and everything just WORKED. Then came the Torta Ahogada Mi Jalisco... HOLY. TACO. TRUCK. That thing showed up looking innocent and left me questioning every life decision that had previously led me to eat anything else. THIS is what I mean when I say authentic Mexican food. No nonsense. No boring, flavorless food that makes you stare at your plate wondering where the personality went. This food showed up with its boots on and went straight to work. And judging by the crowd, I'm definitely not the only one who figured this place out. This place was PACKED at lunch today! That's usually a pretty good sign that the locals know something the rest of us are still trying to figure out. The restaurant was clean, tidy, busy, and full of good energy, and the service was absolutely AMAZING. Everyone was friendly, polite, and working their butts off. I also had my service dog, an American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT), with me. They politely asked if he was a service dog, I answered, and that was literally the end of it. No drama. No interrogation. No circus. Just respectful people treating us like human beings. And THAT deserves some recognition. ‍ So here's my official DirtyFender Food Finder ruling: Food: ABSOLUTELY KILLER Flavor: OFF THE CHARTS Service: FANTASTIC Cleanliness: SPOT ON ‍ Service-dog experience: RESPECTFUL AND EASY Tip: TIP THESE PEOPLE WELL! Seriously, when you get great food from people busting their asses to serve you, SHOW THEM SOME LOVE. The cooks and servers deserve every bit of appreciation they get. I walked in hungry. I walked out happy. And now I'm sitting here wondering how soon I can go back without looking like I've developed a serious emotional attachment to a restaurant. We order ahead because we're on a tight schedule -- I'm a busy, involved parent getting him to the gym after school. A few weeks back, despite ordering plain chicken, his plate came out with pico de gallo. He won't eat it that way. I didn't have time to drive back, so I let it go. The following week, we ordered in person and the waitress assured me she double-checked the order. My son's meal came out correctly -- but my plate was made plain instead of how I ordered it. Not a big deal. I can eat it. I called simply to let them know there was a mix-up -- not demanding anything, not asking for free food. What I wasn't prepared for was being called a liar. I was told the order was made correctly and that if I wanted it fixed I had to bring everything back immediately -- including the salsas. I explained we were on a time schedule for my son's gym session. Instead of understanding, I was told my "games won't fly" there and that I was being a "Karen" looking for free food. My son was hungry and upset during the call. She heard him. We drove back anyway. I placed the plate on the counter, and once she saw it, the mistake was obvious. Only then did she offer to remake it. At that point it wasn't about the food -- it was about being accused of lying and being publicly disrespected in front of my child. Weeks later, I noticed the order was never refunded. I had to dispute the charge with American Express to get my money back. I've supported this restaurant for years. This wasn't about a wrong plate -- mistakes happen. It was about how we were treated when trying to resolve it. I can't return after being called dishonest and a beggar over a simple order issue.

She is infamous for over salting because she loves it.. She really loves salt. She adds salt and splashes soy (salt) sauce on almost every meal. She would vacation in a salt mine if she could. "Damn" I'm thinking. "That enchilada must be salty." But wait. There's more. Next she complains that the enchiladas tortilla wrapper is way too thick. Hard to cut with the plasticware. I try to calm her by saying "Maybe it is home made and other customers like it thick." I'm growing curious now Why does she have a can of Coke and a straw but no cup of ice. She always has a cup of ice for her can of Coke. I tighten my lips rather than getting off my lazy arse to get ice for her. Somehow she read my mind and she blurted -"They charge $.50 cents for ice here." Smh. Everyone these days has a problem with ice.

The food is very, very good, the prices are reasonable, and the portions you get are worth it. It's kind of hard to miss when driving by, but they also have a small sign near the street letting you know they're there. I had known about this taco truck for years but never stopped until last year, and now I wish I had gone sooner. I ordered a super burrito and a few tacos. One thing I really like is that they actually list the length of their burritos on the menu. That's a nice touch because sometimes you order a "super burrito" somewhere else and end up with something small. Here, you know exactly what you're getting. Out of all the taco trucks in Vallejo, this is easily one of my top three burrito trucks. I try not to burn myself out eating at the same place too often, so I like switching between favorites, and this is definitely one I keep coming back to. I almost always get the steak burrito. One thing I really love is the pico de gallo they use. They use red onions, which gives it a nice touch, and every time I get it, I can really taste the cilantro in the pico de gallo throughout the burrito. The steak and chicken street tacos were also really good but the burrito is always my favorite! Parking is never an issue because they share a parking lot with an auto body shop during off-hours, so there's usually plenty of space. They also have cones to help guide cars entering and exiting the lot. When your food is ready, they call your order number over the microphone/intercom system, then ask if you want red or green sauce and chips. Overall, I've always had a great experience here. If you're in Vallejo and looking for a good taco truck, I definitely recommend giving this place a try.
