I enjoyed them all and wouldn't be against eating them again. They have a number of different things available to choose from, and I had some choices to make. I'll definitely be hack to try some other things. I also got a licuado, and it was delicious. I got one with mango, but they have a number to choose from and I'll try another one when in town. I ordered a torta through DoorDash and it arrived on top of a bed of lettuce because of this, it caused the bottom part of the sandwich to fall apart. The bread was SO soggy because the lettuce was not dried off. The flavors were good, but the sandwich was a mess because it was falling apart if they fix the packaging issues, then I will gladly order again. Their juices and paletas are really good though always a solid choice. My go to juice is the green goddess. Highly recommend. read more

I've been coming to La Michoacana regularly for a long time and have always enjoyed their ice cream, pan dulce, and other items. I've never had an issue until this visit, which is why I feel the need to share this experience. This was my first time purchasing a cake from here, and unfortunately it was extremely disappointing and concerning. When we cut into the cake at home, we noticed odd gray/green discoloration inside the cake, uneven texture, and areas that looked wet and broken down. It also had this awful smell and the appearance alone was enough to make us stop eating it immediately. This does not look like normal cake coloration or texture, and it raised serious food safety concerns. Cakes, especially those with moisture, fillings, or cream, should be closely monitored, and it seems like this one may have sat on display far too long. This is not just about taste or quality; someone could genuinely get sick from consuming something like this. What's disappointing is that I genuinely like this place and come here often, which makes this experience even more frustrating. I really hope management takes this seriously and re-evaluates how long cakes are kept on display before being discarded. Freshness and safety should never be compromised. I'm sharing this not to bash the business, but because I believe they can and should do better, especially since many families shop here regularly. read more

They really do have amazing tres leches cake! I asked around for folks' recommendations of where to get a really good tres leches cake and this place came up several times. While they take special orders for larger servings (20+ sheet cakes, etc) they actually have a lot of different cakes that you can simply order on the spot. We ended up with a mocha tres leches (birthday) cake. It was beautifully decorated AND delicious which is the really important part. It wasn't too sweet and the frosting was that really light fluffy kind. Not the heavy overly sweet. Would go here again for special occasion cakes. After moving around this area, my fiancé and I are still on the hunt to try new foods in Vallejo. This was definitely a worthy visit! The store is across the street from La Tapatia where we also buy some of our carne asada or grilled chicken. From the reviews, I thought they only served paletas and I was amazed to see how many different flavors there were! But they also had cakes, mangonadas, drinks, tortas, and all different kinds of bakery breads. I got to try out the strawberry cream paleta and it was so refreshing and tasty! It was flavored well-balanced, not too sweet and not bland. My fiancé ordered the oreo paleta and it was also very flavorful. We were also curious of the horchata fresca. We had to try it! My fave (maybe not so underrated) ice cream shop in Vallejo, and that's on that. Prices are still super reasonable- under $2 for a paleta without the choco dip, and under $3 for a choco dip + nuts. You can't beat that in most parts of the East Bay! They also have various ice cream flavors (available in scoop, milkshake, or sundae form) that are reasonably priced, and in flavors similar to what you'd find in the state of Michoacan in Mexico- and Mexico in general ex: chongos, jamaica, etc. They've also got other desserts, fruits, and baked goods that are self-serve, and the ladies working over the counter are very helpful! Was craving something sweet so as usual I turned to Yelp to find a good spot. La Michoacana had really great reviews and so my bf and I decided to stop by. (Side note: we had attempted to visit them before but it was a holiday and we missed them by 30 mins.) Upon entering the store it was a bit confusing. There was a couple of people waiting by what would be the line to order and it wasn't clear if they had been helped. So, after asking everyone standing there and being told they had been helped we then got attended. I ordered a scoop of vanilla ice cream and four paletas ( two limón, fresas con crema, and another version of fresas con crema). The total was a reasonable price. They accept both cash and card so that was nice. I got to the car, tried the ice cream I ordered and realized I wasn't given vanilla. It was more like butterscotch/rompope. Two very different flavors but I guess I can see how they might have mixed them up. There was two yellow colored ice cream buckets in their display cooler. I didn't finish the cup because I was a bit disappointed; not a big fan of that flavor. The paletas on the other hand were delicious. Very creamy, very rich in taste. I definitely will give them a try again but I think I'll stick to buying the paletas. I did see a lot of people ordering tortas so I might try that next time too. The only thing that is stopping me from giving four stars is the indifferent service. The woman who helped me seemed a bit distracted with all the noise going on, and was very short with answers. Their bread is good here!! I've ordered custom cakes twice here, for both of my baby showers and they have been good, could be better specially the tres leches kind. I was told they would be dripping of how moist of milk they were going to be when ordered but it was kind of the opposite, they were moist but barely any leches. The cake decorations have been up to standard. I have also just bought the tres leches with cajeta that they have premade and they have been always good. Their ice creams and paletas are delicious!! Green goddess drink was so fresh- as if the veggies had just been picked! For dessert, I went for the fruit sónico- I believe it was called. I ended up tossing the spoon and just taking it like a drink! Soooo good. Then proceeded to try the chocolate cake that has some sort of cream cheese- chefs kiss!! OMG the prefect amount of chocolate and moist! I still have my tres leches cake waiting on me- and I'm certain it will be just as perfect as everything else I've tried! Most importantly, the place look well taken care of and clean. Cleanliness maters a whole lot to me. Especially in the food industry. Im a huge fan of paletas in general so when I saw that on their menu, I asked for their best seller, which was the soursop paleta with actual whole fruits inside. Obviously I ordered it and I was blown away. One of the best paletas I've ever had. Not too sweet, literally real chunks of frozen soursop. The seeds are HUGE but I thoroughly enjoyed that popsicle.
