If I could leave no stars, then that would be my rating. I have had several contacts with the CEO, Josh Orozco regarding reimbursement for damages done to my landscaping during the solar installation. In July 2020, I received a message from Josh accepting responsibility for the damages and that payment would be forthcoming. I have left several messages with customer support to no avail. The company lacks the courtesy to respond to phone calls, email and refuses to address unresolved issues. Josh even had me give my bank account info to him for payment. To date, I have yet to receive ANY communication and money for the reimbursement agreed upon by Josh Orozco. My next move is to file a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). A word to the wise, seek another more reputable, reliable and responsive company for this major home investment. read more

I signed up in June. A few panels were installed on my $100,000 project but now nothing is happening and we have no idea when it will be finished. Josh is unresponsive. The sales guy Jeff has a heart of gold and I guess feels successful as a salesman but his product is worthless. Still waiting to hear back from the contractors licensing board read more

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND HAVE YOUR SOLAR INSTALLED BY MANY OF THE OTHER COMPANIES AND DO NOT USE SUNSTOR. Calling them unorganized would be a compliment and the moment they received their payout from the financing company, it's been a minor act of god to speak to anyone at the company who can do anything. My system was fully installed in July and up to that point communication from SunStor came fast and furious. Never mind appointments were unscheduled and typically 1 day notice was given for the installers to come and work on the system. Then they wouldn't show because they were busy with other jobs, but eventually the system was installed. Starting in August, I completed my form for the interconnection agreement with PG&E and it has yet to be completed because the person working the case from SunStor (Skylar Hobbs) is incompetent. They messed up the first application, not providing the correct information about my system, so I completed the DocuSign form again in late August and waited. One month goes by and I hear nothing and after following up with SunStor, I was told that PG&E denied the 2nd application because the fact my system has batteries was left out and SunStor didn't know that PG&E required that information be included. I was assured the issue was being worked on as quickly as possible and that was 6 weeks ago. Follow up emails and a one response from their generic customer service and I've still been given no update. It's not surprising though as the financing company used by SunStor, Dividend Solar, explicitly states in the financing agreement that payment is made to SunStor after completion of installation, but that additional approval from local utility provider may be required before system is functioning. Nevertheless, Sunstor's own contract of work has dated timeline that state work will be completed and installed in 60 business days, which has long since passed. This process started in May and it's now November. I am writing to the Dixon Building organizer, BBB and the California Attorney General, to file a formal complaints. Customer service and support isn't that hard. Simply responding goes a long way, but they can't even be trusted to do that so I have no choice but to file complaints and do my best to deter any future customer from giving their money to this sham of a company. read more

Great place Awesome service is your family thinking about buying a new home next year with Solar? it would be really good because of using the swimming pool, we already have experienced living in a House with the swimming pool and paid every month approximately $750 a month for electricity, so we know how expensive it is. Lucky people who will have to deal with it this year, because of the 30% back. read more

Beyond terrible customer service. Installed a system on my 96 year old father's roof. Couple months later moved to assisted care. Selling the house and found out it had never been hooked up because they had never gotten a permit! They have not made good and another company was hired to fix it. Find another company. read more

I wish I could separate the review from installer to customer service... Their Installer, Levi, is awesome at what he does and takes pride in his work. He also cares about the customers being happy. HE is actually helpful and professional. As for the company, it's owner, and their customer care/service, it is absolutely HORRIBLE... I could list out about 10 reason easily why I wouldn't do business with them again but it's not worth the time... suffice it to say with this company THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG. They over promise and UNDERDELIVER, BIG TIME. Install was late by 4 months... still waiting on final inspection and pto. Much of what the other 1 star reviews have said has unfortunately turned out to be true in my situation as well... I only wish that I would have read these review sooner/before dealing with them. ALSO, if they tell you that they do not place a lien on your home/property or it's "just a UCC-1/fixture filing" that's a straight up lie. There will be a lien filed on your property 100%. It will cost you money to have it lifted, and the company could care less about it. Save yourself the hassle and pay a little more for a company that actually gives a sh*t about their customers... should be fun to see what their idea "customer support" looks like over time... if it's anything like their level of care and customer care during initial process/install/pto, then I'm sure I'll be just as equally disappointed. Don't do business here. read more

This company does not deserve your business. I have never been so disgusted. I have been paying on my panels for almost a year and making formal request the entire time. I wad not hooked up until today!! I signed contracts last Aug and today June 22 the job was completed. When I described out treatment on Facebook, The "CEO" called promised he would refund what I had paid INTO my bank account when the money never did get refunded: #1. Said give it a couple more days, #2. The CEO told me my bank "lost" the money must have lost the money!! My bank said to call his superior, He's the CEO I said! OH, please donot use this company!! read more

Hands down the best in the business thanks for all the knowledge and a smooth transition to solar. You guys rock I highly recommend everyone to pay A visit read more

They'll install your panels and force you to pay for panels and PGE for six months while they jerk around getting the panels turned on. Or more. We are still waiting. If we could go back we would certainly pick a different company. read more

I had Sunstor solar located in Yuba City CA install my Sonnen battery backup system in September 2019. The sales guy messed up the order causing a delay in install. They screwed up the install and had to move the battery rack over a few feet leaving holes in my garage wall. They came back a second time, finished the install, programmed it, and shortly after, it was commissioned. In April of 2020 I had two outages related to a defective part. Sonnen Tech Support sent me the part to replace. On May 30, 2020 I had another problem caused by defective electrical wiring that was performed by their electrician during install which blew out my photo sensor outside my house and caused my outside lights to shut off requiring an electrician to come out and fix that I had to pay for out of my own pocket due to their business being shut down due to Covid. I have repeatedly contacted their customer support people and the person who answers is just a glorified call screener. Their COO came out to my house in the middle of August 2020 and looked at it and agreed that the electrical work was poorly done and would try to work me into the schedule. I have written several emails to their COO and CEO to resolve this problem and the CEO told me through their Call screener that they are backed up 90 days and would work me into the schedule. He wouldn't even give me the courtesy of a phone call . The Sonnen battery backup system is a great product, however I would use a different vendor to install it. They took my money but the support is terrible. I would not recommend Sunstor to anybody. Jeff Schneider read more

They talked a good salespitch, when it came down to keeping their end of the agreement all their actions were the opposite! After final payment it took them at least 5 months to submit paperwork to P.G.E.Lesson #1 hold onto final payment until last t is crossed! Would not recommend using Sunstor for any services read more

If I could give a -100 I would. They don't even deserve one star. We signed our contract in August and still have no operating solar in January. It has been one lie after another. The executives don't even follow through with their promises. They have so many similar complaints I don't know how they haven't been shut down. They don't show for appointments, they don't call, and they don't try to rectify the situation. The customer is clearly not important to them, but the almighty dollar is. Once you sign your contract (which they persistently harass you to do) they really don't care beyond that. The loan company has paid them, so you go to the bottom of the pile. Stay clear of this company. There are so many other solar companies that you can choose. Make sure it's not this one. read more

I should of read the reviews before using these people. Every one is an owner from what they say. But they blame everyone else for not getting the job done. First it was the electrician now they are blaming PG&E for not coming out to get everything going. We are going on 2 months without anything happening. I strongly advise you to go elsewhere. read more

Not recommended. Not reliable, bad customer service, ignoring promises. Bottom line - very frustrating and unprofessional.

Me and my daughter was hired by Sunstor Solar by Sonia Orozco (Sister-in-law) in October, then was "Laid Off" in December without a real explanation or just cause, we were told that all retail hourly employees were going to be laid off which turned out to be untrue. December 2, 2019 we we're told by an employee (Carlos) not the one that hired us that we were going to be laid off effective immediately and that we were going to receive full Severance pay for all of December which we are still waiting on. I have wrote Emails after emails trying to get this pay and my W2's No one is responding to me. One email received by Joshua Orozco Said: "Betty, We are in the middle of a transition of CFO's and that's why the delay. We will get this out to you ASAP." another said: "Lets take care of this-" I was told that I would have got this paid on Dec. 8th, 2019 and when I didn't receive it I then started the emails asking when were we going to receive it and was told to be patient. Here it is tomorrow will be a month of me being patient! no Christmas for my family, and I have bills past due expecting to paid as promised, by Josh, Nathan, Carlos, Sonia, and so many more. I was expecting this Severance pay that was promise to me, and now after finally getting my paystubs, I find that I was purposely not paid for all the hours I worked. message after message now goes un returned. I'm just very disappointed in this company!!!! As an former employee it saddens me to have to write this review, however I can't in good conscience not post in hopes to prevent this company from doing this to others. Yes I admit I didn't know any better, but NOW I do!!!! read more

This is a followup to my 7/26/2019 review. Eventually all issues were resolved re: installation. Just as we were beginning to put all of the anxiety and anger behind us we received on September 1 a certified letter from CED Greentech, a electrical supply business used by SunSor where they buy their equipment and supplies. The letter was to advise us that a mechanics lien in excess of $11,600 was being placed upon our home because SunStor had not paid them for the materials used to install our solar system even though we had paid cash for our system. Duly alarmed we contacted SunStor in Berry Creek and were referred to the owner, Josh Orozco. He apologized and said it was an accounting error and that it would be corrected within two weeks. I told him that this was not acceptable and he said he would speed it up. After several communications with Josh where he continued to promise to clear this up but not doing so I called CED Greentech and learned that SunStor was actually on a 90 day repayment plan. He was lying to us. At this point we retained counsel and I also filed a complaint with the State Licensing Board. By December 16, after 90 days, CED Greentech was paid, our Lien was rescinded and the Licensing Board dropped the matter. So essentially SunStor used our money for purposes other than paying their supplier and at the expense of our home equity/credit rating knowing they could by time to repay what should have been paid promptly without incurring a lien on our home. This is how they do business so beware. read more

We were so excited to be going solar, but unfortunately this company took all the thrill away! They are very disorganized and it took us many months to get connected with someone in the company from whom we could get answers to the many issues with the installation. There was one problem after another. It took a year from the time we paid in full for the installation until we were online. The modest (compared to what other friends and family members received) incentives we were promised have never materialized after multiple requests. Finally, we were told by the electricians who did some upgrades for us in preparation for the installation of an electric tankless water heater and a central heat and a/c system, that the panel installed by SunStor Solar was below the industry standard and so we paid $1300 to have the upgrades needed for our additions. Avoid this company, there are lots of other options in the Bay Area!! We were really taken for a ride by this bungling operation! read more
