The ground mount array with covered pool above in picture. The blacked out panels going on tomorrow now that PG&E installed new transformer.

The installation and education we received was excellent. Every word they gave they acted on and achieved. The installation was fast and professional. We had become "orphaned" as our previous solar contractor is no longer in business and our system was aging out. Suntegrity provided us with a new system and they have followed through with problems we had with PG&E in hooking our system up to their grid owing to a needed transformer upgrade. Suntegrity kept up with PG&E and and kept us informed as well. We are VERY happy customers and would recommend them, just as they were recommended to us by previous happy customers.

My husband and I contacted 3 different solar companies and chose Suntegrity. Most solar companies wanted to just put solar panels on your roof and leave. After talking about options - Keith engineered a ground system that is invisible at nearly the same price as what the other companies wanted to put on the roof. This system gave us exactly what we wanted. They are true professionals! Keith and his crew were 100% on top of it every day. After completion they took care of the extra PG&E stuff needed all the way thru final sign-off. Couldn't be more pleased with the entire process.

I contacted 5 solar companies and I have to say most were very uneducated about solar installations. I had responses ranging from, "We can only put up 9 panels -why? "Because you don't have enough south facing roof." to "Oh, we can't install on your roof because you don't have an attic." When I contacted Kreutzfeld construction (Suntegrity) They immediately said, " We have a lot of possibilities, let me come out and look over your roof and I'll give you all your options." When the tech arrived he already had a layout of my roof he got from satellite photos and even knew where shadow generators were located (chimney and roof vents and even some trees!). He then spent about an hour on the roof with a tape measure and when finished proceeded to show me a computer graphic of my roof and the sun location and length of shadows that would cover some panels -for the 365 days-WOW I was impressed, BUT I was told you cannot install on a roof that has no attic? and much of my roof faces north. He promptly said, "We can do "reverse tilt" and we can double your panels. and we will carefully measure where your roof beams are and bolt directly on them". -Again impressed. They arranged and worked with the county of Sonoma with their Solar loan program and even found American made panels for the same price as foreign made ones! The Crew was prompt, friendly, very careful, and respectful of my property and left the area totally cleaned up. Everything passed county inspection. A little bit of follow up was needed and they quickly responded and made any corrections/additions as necessary. And this was 2 years ago and my 28 panel 56.7 Kwh. system works flawlessly. I cannot say enough great things about Suntegrity. Try them you will like them. Highly recommended A+!

The project was incredibly well organized, from getting our initial pricing through every step of installation; nothing fell through the cracks. They also handled all the back-and-forth with PG&E, which meant we didn't have to worry about a thing on that end. Dan Moran managed the project and kept everything streamlined throughout. After installation, he came back out for a consultation with my husband and me to walk us through the app and show us how to get the most out of our system. Cassius Camus, our energy consultant, helped us get set up with the right plan from the start, and Colton led a clean, professional installation. Every part of the process felt carefully handled. If you're considering solar, I'd highly recommend this team. They are professional, organized, and locally owned! They made a complicated process feel simple, and the job got done in record time as well.

When we raised concerns, I believe the salesperson my partner dealt with wanted to make things right, but sales leadership stepped in, dismissed our concerns as unfounded, and offered nothing. Those concerns were (and still are): 1) Sketchy contract execution. NPP offers a 5-year prepaid lease in partnership with Balto Energy. It lets homeowners offset installation costs because the leasing company collects a 30% federal tax credit (no longer available to homeowners) and, in NPP's words, "monetizes that tax credit over 5 years." The contract was executed by sending the DocuSign to just one partner, with all owners lumped onto a single signature line -- one person signing on behalf of the other. For a married couple in California, that's legally questionable under community property law, given a) the encumbrances placed on jointly owned property, and b) no power of attorney authorizing one spouse to sign for the other. I never saw the agreement until installation was underway. 2) Misleading claims. My partner was told, verbally and in writing, that we'd "own the system outright" at the end of the 5-year term. In truth, the contract contains only vague language about a fair-market-value buyout, with no detail on how to initiate it or who to contact at end of lease. We've had zero contact with Balto through this entire process -- only NPP -- yet NPP's sales director told us they have no role in the lease agreement once it's signed. In other words, they don't stand behind the product they sell. Don't be like us -- do your diligence (especially if you're over 65 and new to solar leases), verify every claim against the actual contract language, and make sure all owners review and sign every agreement.

They cancelled the visit to repair the roof. Repair and scheduling still pending. I also asked if I could schedule a visit on another, separate matter. The staff said no. The company is not scheduling appointments out with anyone at this time. *Edit 1: I heard from Ron Dorris Electric this morning. They scheduled a visit to repair the roof for 5/30/23. Repair pending. I began working with Ron Dorris Electric in mid-to-late 2022. At the beginning the work went well. In November 2022, I had Ron Dorris Electric install a new lateral drop from the road as well as a new solar-ready electrical box. In Spring 2023, this company's work began to fall apart. The mast connecting the lateral drop to my roof began to pull apart from the roof. Since noticing the issue, I contacted Ron Dorris Electric to alert them and request them to fix it. A roofer/electrician visited and informed me that Ron Dorris' installer should have applied supports to the mast given the height of the mast and the tension of the electrical drop wires. He stated the weight and tension of the electrical wires (without supports) caused the mast to pull of the roof. He said he would fix the problem that week, but when I returned from travel the problem still remained. I have called Ron Dorris and requested a timeline for completing the repair. I still do not have answer. Most calls, even if made around 9:00 a.m., go to an answering service. In the last month (three or four weeks) I have left three messages with the answering service but have not received a call back from those. My diligence helped me get through to someone last week, but I still do not have an update. Ron Dorris has an email address, but I haven't received a response to the two emails I submitted in the same period. All I want is to learn the timeline for correcting the poor workmanship. How long is it going to take to repair the roof and add supports? Will there be a cost to me if your staff complete work that should have been completed the first time? I can appreciate the company is busy, and I am thankful my electrical power still works. I have a hole if my roof, the rainy weather is continues, and I am merely looking for a timeline for completion.

In good conscience I cannot recommend Ron Dorris Electric. Vital's quote was higher than most others we received, but given their reviews, we decided it was worth the extra spend for a clean install. Pre-install had delays and miscommunications. I know this is common with projects, so I remained positive. I was sent engineering plans for my approval. I saw that these revised plans were for a smaller system than what I had originally agreed to. The change would have made it easier for the installers, but would have netted me less energy, with no adjustment to my cost. To the PM's credit, he attempted to draw my attention to these changes when they were sent for my approval, but I nevertheless saw it as a proposed change constructed to benefit Vital with no consideration toward me, and delayed the process even more as I had them change back to the original agreed-upon system size. I remained positive. On installation day, one of the installers broke my new and expensive inverter. I said no big deal, I'll talk to the PM and we'll figure something out. Even though the system wasn't fully functional due to the broken inverter, but I nevertheless paid everything that was due that day, withholding only a documented amount equivalent to a replacement inverter until we can find a resolution. The manufacturer would only replace the broken inverter it with a used device under warranty (i.e. one that another customer has returned and has been refurbished) with a shorter warranty window. Rather than demand a new inverter at the company's expense, which I believe I fairly could have, I proposed options which included a partial credit for the downgrade (and the warranty hassle and ~two months lost solar generation). After waiting weeks for a reply, I followed up and their finance specialist accepted responsibility for the damage IN WRITING and agreed to the credit. I spent hours on the warranty process, found an oversized box, and shipped the broken unit. This is where it unraveled. Right after the resolution, CEO Jason Jackson, got involved for the first time, deflected blame, and said he thinks my equipment was defective (a manufacturing defect somehow caused a piece of hard plastic to snap off?), asked to inspect it and offered to handle the warranty for me. I told him that the package was already shipped, and that I would have very much welcomed his examination and warranty help three weeks ago (rather than the radio silence I received), but the resolution reached, device shipped and warranty in motion. And despite his self-proclaimed "30 years in the industry," didn't appear to have a grasp of the situation as he incorrectly called the inverter a "battery," and required correction. He also accused me of breach of contract for temporarily withholding a small amount due to the breakage. Meanwhile, I noticed flickering lights in several rooms. Nothing suggested a solar connection, so we called an electrician... three visits and $1,300+ later, he traced it to loose connections and a stripped lug in equipment the installers had just worked in, attributing it to the install with a high degree of likelihood. I had been willing to absorb that bill just to move on. Instead, as the CEO kept trying to walk back the written agreement, I was told my warranty might now be partially void because a licensed electrician had worked in the same area, and the Vital threatened a lien on my home while I was withholding the remaining balance awaiting a corrected ledger and the heat detectors their own permit plans required. Five employees of Vital were copied in to the email thread which created an audience, so I eventually decide to email Jason directly to remove the risk of humiliation for him (I detected a hefty ego), and gave him a generous compromise offer. I made major concessions to just get this over with and we finally put it to bed. I was pleasantly surprised that he did not ask me to sign an NDA as part of a compromise, because now it allows me to share my experience here. The field crews were likable and professional, and even the installer who broke the inverter seemed like a knowledgeable, decent guy. Leadership is what failed here, at real cost in time and stress. Do your due diligence, and weigh the ownership of any company you hire. There are plenty of reputable solar companies out there...
